Sure just rub it in. Just kidding.. I think it is a good idea especially with the age of these Broncos.

Mine is a 67 so I'm guessing I will have to change mine out when I put my lift in.

@Jason & Jonie Builds I believe you did 🙂. Now I'm curious to what the bolt hole centers measure on the old one.

I measure about 1 7/8" center to center at the cap.

Another step closer! The parts inconsistencies is some of the reasons why why I sent my shafts to the shop... I really wanted to do all of the work but I tried to just buy u-joints and the ball kits for the CVs at the transfer case and there were like 5 different u-joint combinations. And the cost of u-joints has gotten insane, (or I'm gettin' old 😂) so for just a little more than just buying the 6 u joints and the ball kits I let someone else do it.

I understand. My hands and knuckles thanked me for buying new shafts. LOL

What color did you paint your transmission and transfer case? Aerosol or auto body paint?

I used engine cast coat aerosol paint. It stands up well to heat and oil.

Didn’t you need to add a yoke seal before seating the yoke?

The one that was there is brand new. I rebuilt the transfer case several months ago. Thanks for checking.

@@JasonJonieBuilds Thx, I'm horrible at mark eyeball measurements. I my Bronco is a 77 on paper but the dana 20 came out of a stack of Early Bronco parts no telling what year it was from.

One more item checked off the list…..There are a various terms used when working on bronco’s…..some shouldn’t be written down. “Umpf”…..is generally accepted in my garage.

Ha...That is right. Lots of times I end up with something of Jonies out in the shop doing things it wasn't designed for.
