Perfect video! Great colour palette with calm written instructions & authentic audio. Like others I would love to know where you found the grind guard for the portafilter -so much less mess!!
Wonderful video! So helpful. I liked how you used the machine and it's problems live - AND how to fix it. Perfect :) Hope you enjoy many more delicious caps to come!
I get intermittent low pressure when pulling a double shot. My beans are our own blend that we had for our coffee business and I've been using them with my Sage (breville in US) barista express machine. I've flushed machine, I clean when it indicates to clean but I still get low pressure from time to time. Any thoughts?
Could it be possible that I should follow this procedure even if my machine is very new ? I’m having low pressure issue no matter how fine I grind my fresh beans.
@@oysterhoysthanks. Clean cycle with blind puck, only got to 11 oclock. So far we got the internal burr on 5. Beans are top stuff and 2 weeks old. Will try a lower burr #. For beginners they said ...😅
Hi all, My sage barista express doesn't let any water out of the group head for espresso, but the hot water and steam works fine. I just replaced the whole solenoid part, which I assume isn't defect. Any ideas to what it might be?
Hey man! Thank you for this video. It is very helpful! I tried to follow all the steps. When i put the empty double wall basket it, the pressure gauge only goes up to Inbetween 9 and 10pm. When I do the blind basket, it barely reaches 12pm and never goes to max. Is this normal?
I know you commented this a while ago, but I saw the video poster never responded. I just purchased on Barista Express about two weeks ago and I've been back and forth with support about my pressure. No matter what, I can't get pressure to go above 10 o'clock. Even with the cleaning disc, pressure never gets above 50% of the espresso range. They finally got back to me and told me that new machines have been changed. It will eventually hit 11 o'clock after a few months, but not more. I'm not sure if I trust them but it still pulls pretty decent shots. Take that for what you will, but just wanted to let you know.
@ hey man! Thank you for your response! I did some further digging and research and was in contact with support myself. Indeed the newer machines have an overpressure valve perinstalled (similar to an opv mod) which hinders the machine to go beyond 10 bar of pressure. Ever since I found out that, I am certain that my machine works as intended. I even go so far and only pull my shot with the pre infusion mod where the pressure consistently stays below 9 bar of pressure. Espresso tastes great so I am satisfied
@@its_riyo93 Wonderful to hear that! I was concerned as my machine is brand new but between support's answer and your success, I am happy. Thanks for the confirmation and I hope you continue to enjoy your machine!
Hello. In sage, I replaced the gasket because during high pressure cleaning, the gasket shot and popped out. I replaced the gasket with a new one and the same thing happens. When cleaning under pressure, it shoots and the gasket pops out of the mount. Water flows sideways and cleaning cannot be completed by descaling. What should I do, help. Sage is no longer under warranty.
Hey, thanks for the useful video. I've bought the same machine couple of days ago, but when I try to make coffee the pressure is always at 0, and maybe sometimes goes a little higher. I've tried with already grounded coffee and from a machine grinder, and with different coffee filters that were in the box. (with already grounded coffee, the pressure was as it has to be, in the middle) Can you please suggest what else can be done?
Try empty pressurised/dual walled basket (15:10). If you get the pressure, then dial down external and/or internal grind setting (7:15). If not, then contact customer support.
I have same problem 21.33 with intermittent loud pumping noise when milk frothing with new Barista machine so annoying ... so this is blocked milk steamer is that correct? Thank you 😊
I put kilrock descaler in the water tank & run it through all parts (including wand & water top up) & then follow up with white vinegar in the water tank. After that a full tank of water to wash out the chemicals (you can smell them if they are still there & vinegar is edible, so no need to worry too much). This is pretty much solved all the problems I have ever had with this machine, although mine is now a bit noisy, so I am no expert!
I did the same in every steps, is still low pressure :( The machine also does not have been descale for 4 years. So I used descaling from dezcal, the water that is comming out with descaling is not that black as yours, . When I use the blind filter, the pressure comes to the maximum, but when I use the double basket the pressure achieve at maximum 4 bar (even with finer grind). What should I do?
I don't know, I'm not sure about the symptoms of a hardware failure, but there are a few videos on RUclips on replacing water pumps and other parts in a Breville machines. However, before taking the machine apart, I personally would descale it a few more times. May be try a stronger descaler like 5-20% citric acid solution.
Well done to video maker high lighting these mere maintenance points of getting a good coffee from this machine. Theres alot involved in just this alone when it comes to wanting decent coffee, isnt there? Unfortunately, there are multiple aspects to components that fail on this particular machine and repairs are timely, very involved & costly. Ive had solenoid issues, steam gaskets, clogged water lines & now at the moment, I'm repairing the portafilter coupling collar which has loosened screws that need perma tightening. Really have to dismantle the whole machine in order to access them. 😢wish i didn't buy this machine at this point. Too many faults happen that are likey through bad design and its not user friendly for repairs.3/10 for me.
Very good tutorial. Thanks for taking the time to do it

I know it's a bit late. But it's available directly through Sage/Breville.

Fantastic diagnosis of this machine - very helpful. Thank you very much!
this was very informative and step by step with clear instructions.
Best video ever for troubleshooting this machine!
Илья, спасибо за отличный видос. А то я свою уже разбирать собирался! Пойду промывать вместо этого😂

So what's the grind settings to get that pressure.. inside and outside
Thanks. Helped me to understand that i bought broken machine. none of these tests worked...
와우!!! 자세한 영상 잘 봤습니다. 고맙습니다^^
Very informative
this is the best video of all videos
Great details bro. I’ll try it with my machine tomorrow, thanks
Wire in the steamer on bottom is broken. Can I fix that ?
Could it be possible that I should follow this procedure even if my machine is very new ? I’m having low pressure issue no matter how fine I grind my fresh beans.
Me too. Ours is new and cant get past 10 oclock with double wall test. Help?
@ in the end, it was solved with: really good beans, setting internal grinder to position 3 and well tamped puck.

Hi, I am experiencing the same, I haven't changed the solenoid yet. Have you managed to fix your machine?
That steam wand clog was personal 😂 I'm convinced these machines are women...So fickle, yet produces perfection with a little TLC!

Can you use water + vinegar for descaling?
Thanks for your help Will try to tomorrow
Hi mine goes at 11’ o’clock with the plastic plug inside it doesn’t go higher. Is this an issue. Thanks.
Thanks you for explication
Great details! Thank you very much!
thank you 👍👍👍
Very very helpful thank you!
If the machine is new and you can’t get the pressure to say 9 bars, what could be wrong? Is it just the grind size?
Helped alot, thanks legend!

Hello Alice. Have you found the cause of the problem? My machine has the same issue, and I’m looking for a solution.

very helpful video, thanks
Funny, informative, perfect.
Fantastic video
What size did you adjust burr for second time?
Very helpful! Thanks
Thanks for your help !
Great vid - really useful.
sooooooo helpful !!! thank you sm
Anyone has issue not able to activate the descaling mode by pressing 2 cup button first and power button ? How to manually descale ?
That's funtion use only for bes870 v.2 (see label below clean me have descale) but in v.1 just hold 1 or 2 cup until water in tank empty

Mine doesn’t have the internal bur adjustment
If yours has the little metal handle for the bur. You remove that handle, then you can turn the clockwise to make it finer.
You always should flush your steam wand right away after wiping it out from the excess milk. this method would prevent your wand from blocking.
Thanks
No coffee grinding. Both lights flasing
Thank you so much
Mine didn’t even move
Just bought new few days ago

i have the same problem and i figure out the Silicone Steam Ring was in bad situation. i bought a new one from amazon
привет. а если новая машина? почему точно такие же проблемы? спасибо
