- Join me as I take a deep dive into the latest trick by Geraint Clarke and Christian Grace: Any Thought of Card to Pocket, published by Ellusionist
This is card magic at its finest. It's a trick, but more than just that. In over an hour and a half of video, join G. Clarke and C. Grace as they show how to use the ATOCTP gaff cards to perform this stunning trick, and then they take it many steps further by doing it without the gaffs.
But, what exactly is the trick, and what do you get when you purchase it? Watch my review to find out -- and to find out if it's worth the price!

Spoiler alert: I really like this trick!
One thing to note (that I just realized... hours after posting this 😅) is that when I received this trick in the mail, it came with a new pack of red Bicycle Rider Back cards -- the product description on the website doesn't say that it does; in fact, it says "you will need to already own or buy a regular Red Bicycle Rider Back deck to do this trick"... I'm not 100% sure if it will always come with one or if I just got lucky 🤞
You never gave anything away but watching your video I figured out how this is done which has kind of put me off buying it, as a spectator and not knowing the trick id want to look through the cards properly which would worry me if someone else did the same. Aside that it does look like a good trick to perform.
I don't perform the version with the gimmicks themselves, but I have performed it the other ways that they've taught. In my opinion, and I'm not trying to sell you on it with this, but it was worth it. Not to mention some of the other tips (theory + card handling) that they go over in the tutorials.
I, personally, don't do a lot of "packet tricks," but the way this can transition into packet trick right from a full deck of cards (and then can go right back to being a full deck), it fits my style a lot (^_^)
I have this and will NEVER use it as they show it. Anytime you have a spectator handle gaffed cards, you risk exposing the trick. I had several people watch me do this trick. These were not magicians. They spread the cards too far each time. Also, they will reach for the cards immediately to see that their card did disappear. Before anyone says the "audience management" nonsense, the spectator will do what they want. You can use a marked deck, but I cannot see most marks, so that's useless to me. In my opinion, this can only be done with a cooperative magician who knows not to expose you. Also, the 99% of the time they say only these 4 cards is also nonsense. Again, when I tried it out and not a single person picked the 'correct' cards. Buy at your own risk.
I feel you there! I used to be "against" gaffs and only into sleight of hand, then I figured I would give them a try (not this specific trick), but every time I do I get called out. Sometimes I can 100% attribute it to my communication (e.g., "audience management"), but most of the time it's simply because people are curious and/or skeptical.
All of that said, I have performed the non-gaffed + non-marked version of this trick though and it works out really nicely. If you have alternate handling beyond those, I'd love to chat 🙌
Ellusionist gifted me this. I love it. I am not sure what you are talking about. If you can handle an invisible deck, you can handle this.
I have performed this. I love the ungimmicked version and it’s been slaying all the time ❤❤❤❤. It’s so strong!
Glad to hear it's working well for you 🙌🙌🙌
I really like this-- have had it for a few weeks.' I perform the version not using the gaff cards -- and use a marked deck. But at some point might try it w the gaff cards-- glad I found your channel-- new sub !!
I'm so happy to hear it! It's been a little while longer now and I've been able to perform it more (still without gaffs) and it's getting really good feedback (^_^)
Hi Geoff
I’m not sure exactly what the gaff cards are, but are you saying that if the spectator spreads the cards even just a little bit too ‘widely’ that they will notice they are gaffes?
Hi 👋! The specific instance in the tutorial, the cards were on the table and "the spectator" (Clarke) started looking through them - regardless of what kind of gaffs they are, almost always you'd want to avoid that from happening 😅. But yeah, with these gaffs, there's a good chance they would notice. Not with the variations though (since they don't use the gaffs) 😊
