I prefer Awakening to Fates myself but the 3D characters were far from a horrible idea. I just think Nintendo dumbed the idea down so it would be more...kid friendly? or just to appease the masses.

+722blitz maybe you don't know but Anna is a Staple Character for the Fire Emblem Series. Most of the time she is running Shops or serving as the girl when you suspend your game mid-chapter. That is why in Awakening and Fates her main Trait is that she is madly in love with money and she is mostly shown (Until you recruit her in both games) as the Merchant on the Map of Awakening. So it makes sense for her to be money-oriented.
MCG_Raven yeah that was kind of a given, but shes still a human being. Henry has a gimmick of being a funny psychopath, but he has different scenarios to play on it, some backstory, and shows he likes things more than just murder.
I prefer Awakenings Confessions, the individual pictures for every character seemed like they had much more care and design put into them then just having the characters model just bobble about for like 10 seconds. Oh well, still seems like a great game.. I just want it out in England already.. -_-
You aren't limited to just them, although they can offer better mods if you specifically focus on particular combinations. You can also do first generation Corrin-only wives, like Reina, Scarlet, Flora, and Anna. The only ones you cannot do are first generation wives who are capable of marrying more people than just Corrin exclusively. So Reina, Scarlet, Flora, Anna (DLC) [everyone before this point is first gen Corrin-only; everyone after is second gen], Midori, Sophie, Caeldori, Mitama, Rhajat, Selkie, Velouria, Nina, Ophelia, or Soleil are your options.
Peter Jumper Yeah I knew all of that, like being able to marry the girls who can marry anyone else. But like you said, better mods for Kana. I'm that one player that goes for optimization. You need it, especially in Conquest, where low stats could mean an inevitable end.
Chica Dog Even in Conquest, most characters aren't capping stats, except perhaps in their strongest stats, so actually mods aren't a huge thing there. Growths and bases and skills tend to matter more. Mods matter more for PvP (if that interests you) or for a hypothetical future map like Awakening's Apotheosis, which may or may not happen. Or for the stats where your growth rates are high enough that you might actually cap in that particular stat. But most mods don't matter in main-game Conquest.
Peter Jumper I grind in the Boo Camp DLC, but I agree that mods don't really matter except for PvP and Apotheosis 2.0 (Which I REALLY want). I guess I've gotten really obsessed with mods lately.

+Custom FE:Fates Support Convos I like all the confessions. Its amazing how easy it is to care for each and every character despite how different they are. Normally I'm only attracted to a handful of characters but everyone is Fates is precious to me. Except the Tharja clone. I refuse to even say her true name.
Allan M. Hanson Actually it's not. The reason why is a spoiler though, so spoiler alert. In Hinoka's S-support, she reveals that Mikoto left her a letter saying that they're not actually blood relatives, as Sumeragi was not his biological father, so it's ok to marry. Now, Hinoka could be totally lying, so I understand your skepticism, but it is revealed in the Hidden Truths DLC that Anankos is actually Corrin's father. How? When Anankos was almost at the point of no return in his madness, he took the last sane chunk of his soul and flung it away from himself. The soul chunk took on human form, but didn't remember anything. He was found by Mikoto and they fell in love and had Corrin. More stuff happens after that, but it's not relevant to how Hinoka's not Corrin's blood relative. While all this is technically ok, I do think it's still weird. I do think the two have definite chemistry, but he still came to know her as a sister at first, and so I understand why some mught oppose it. Personally, I have no particular ship for Corrin, either as male or female.

To be perfectly honest, I much prefered Awakening's versions of the confession scenes, with a drawn out scene taking from your character's point of view over a close up of their face with some generic animation and no background. It honestly felt more alive when you look at the confession scene of Nah, where she is suddenly hugging robin's (first person) arm (causing him to drop a spoon he was using to cook), with a simple pink filter over a detailed background showing the room they are in, vs. Here where there is no background- just pink and hearts- and it is just their character model flapping their lips and looking around. Now, granted, Awakening DID have a few scenes more similar to here, but they generally felt more like they were actually attached to the conversation whereas here they are suddenly just standing in front of you, which is especially strange in some cases where it makes no sense, at all, I.E Selkie's, where the convo ends with her literally tackling you- yet the confession has her a few feet in front of her, talking about how she is gonna tackle you.... What?

In Hinoka's S-support, she reveals that Mikoto left her a letter saying that they're not actually blood relatives, as Sumeragi was not his biological father, so it's ok to marry. Now, Hinoka could be totally lying, so I understand your skepticism, but it is revealed in the Hidden Truths DLC that Anankos is actually Corrin's father. How? When Anankos was almost at the point of no return in his madness, he took the last sane chunk of his soul and flung it away from himself. The soul chunk took on human form, but didn't remember anything. He was found by Mikoto and they fell in love and had Corrin. More stuff happens after that, but it's not relevant to how Hinoka's not Corrin's blood relative. While all this is technically ok, I do think it's still weird. I do think the two have definite chemistry, but he still came to know her as a sister at first, and so I understand why some mught oppose it. Personally, I have no particular ship for Corrin, either as male or female.

To be perfectly honest, I much prefered Awakening's versions of the confession scenes, with a drawn out scene taking from your character's point of view over a close up of their face with some generic animation and no background. It honestly felt more alive when you look at the confession scene of Nah, where she is suddenly hugging robin's (first person) arm (causing him to drop a spoon he was using to cook), with a simple pink filter over a detailed background showing the room they are in, vs. Here where there is no background- just pink and hearts- and it is just their character model flapping their lips and looking around. Now, granted, Awakening DID have a few scenes more similar to here, but they generally felt more like they were actually attached to the conversation whereas here they are suddenly just standing in front of you, which is especially strange in some cases where it makes no sense, at all, I.E Selkie's, where the convo ends with her literally tackling you- yet the confession has her a few feet in front of her, talking about how she is gonna tackle you.... What?
Also I would love to see what they could've come up with for Setsuna's confession, given how hilarious a scene THAT is.
