I like how Sony can take a underrated and silly looking villain like Spot and make him look scary.
The man was an assassin at one point in the comics. He always had a potential to be a threat.
It's really nice to see a non sympathetic animated and comic book villain in general to be honest!
I absolutely loved Spot because he’s the first “scientist turned into a monster during experiment gone wrong” character who actually ACTS like a scientist.
He’s constantly experimenting and picking apart the broader applications of his powers over the course of the movie. And unlike every other supervillain (who usually just tolerates having a kryptonite) when he realises he can run out of holes, he quickly brainstorms a way to get rid of the weakness by recreating the accident that transformed him on a much larger scale. He's far from the joke everyone sees him as.
this is a much smaller random bit, but that one second gag where he gets distracted during his first fight with miles bc he starts analyzing a chess game he stumbled upon is so charming to me bc he would totally do that. Like yes I’m having the fight of my life but oooo chess game
2:46 the biggest prove that miguels canon event theory i wrong: earth 42 was robbed of the most important canon event of all: the spider bite itself and it hasnt collapsed
I just love Spot on how he became from a wimpy villain to an ultimate threat. Hope we'll see more of him so that he could get the "spot"light he deserves.

The one thing I give this movie so much credit for is making the joke villain making him an actual threat

Holding out strongly that both The Spot and Miguel will die in Beyond the Spider Verse (don’t anyone dare say they want Miguel to redeem and live, he’s gone too far at this point! Redemption would have to be a heroic sacrifice)
I love how the slowly became more menacing and scary as the movie progressed, that's just the coolest part of the spot's role in the film.
That Spider-Man 2 reference definitely hits different

The Spot became an anomaly to exact his revenge to destroy everything that miles loved but miles was at earth 42 betrayed by his former friends and trapped by the counterparts of 42 Aaron and 42 Miles as the prowler

what made The Spot so scary was the music they played while he was showing Miles how he was gonna “ruin his life the way he ruined his” && “take everything from him like miles did to the spot”
