It’s the fact that Toni was very careful when it came to Shelby and how she felt. She asked for consent and would never tell anyone about them until Shelby felt safe. They are perfect for each other bc Toni is the first person where Shelby can finally let loose and be herself and Shelby is the first person in a long time that accepts Toni‘s anger and is kinda her anchor
I think what I like best about the relationship between Toni and Shelby is the idea that even after they've run out of romantic love for each other (which CAN happen, they are only 17 after all...) I can still see them being really good friends. I love that aspect of any relationship the most. The "what I mean to you after we're done kissing" part.
The Wilds is a really weird series. I hated the majority of the characters, Shelby and Dot (The GOAT) being the exceptions. I warmed up to Toni (mostly because of the Shelby dynamic) over time and by the end I really liked her. But the rest of the characters were completely useless. And yet, I find myself strangely drawn to this series. Looking forward to season 2.
