    Cool car. Old school ,checking for misses by putting your hand at the exhaust. Good times.

    Dorky little cars are the best. Loved my Festivas. Getting tags for my Mazda 323 GTX in two days.

    I've been away from this channel for awhile pursuing other interests but it is good to see sweet Stella again. It is also good to see that you are close to that 100K subscriber milestone.

    Never seen one of these before, what was the original engine?

    • @Subarude-zr5qf
      @Subarude-zr5qf 26 дней назад +4

      No thats not the original engine, he has a VW 4 cylinder air-cooled engine. The stock engine for a Vespa 400 is similar to a
      Subaru 360, 2 cylinder, 2 stroke air-cooled engine at 13 hp. Subaru 360 has 25 hp. Both Vespa and Subaru have automatic oil injection into the engine. Peace

      Yes I have seen several Vespas with stock engines. The the Southwest Unique Little Car or SWULCS has been held for 43 years, just about every classification has been there, even the Peel P50. Peace

      @@Subarude-zr5qf I would have guessed at a 2-stroke engine, but all I've ever seen Piaggio produce was a single cylinder 2-stroke engine. Even the Ape delivery vehicle had a single cylinder engine. Having now looked online, I can see production of the car was farmed out to a company in France, but I'm now no wiser as to who made the engine.

    That Isetta engine was that failure due to poor lubrication?

    Would the original Mini hub caps fit your Vespa. They are 10"

    • @Subarude-zr5qf

      Honda 600, Subaru 360 and probably the Vespa 400 car have 10 inch tires. Many micro cars have 10in tires except BMW Isetta, Messerschmitt and King Midget have 8 inch tires. These are smaller cars with about 200cc engines or less.

    Can’t see a speedo (or any instrumentation of any kind) - presumably the original engine had zero risk of breaking speed limits
