0:32 FOR REAL. You get so many crazy good abilities in just one charm. First, the extra heart: which is really handy because your HP can make a huge difference in a fight. Which means there's a bit of room to get away with taking damage and you can survive a lot longer. That extra heart saved the day a couple of times on these bosses for me. AND, unlike the heart or twin heart charm theres no damage reduction. Next, the double jump: I've avoided damage so many times thanks to this guy. Is there something right below you that will damage you while you're mid air? No problem, use the double jump and get out of the way. Also makes avoiding attacks way easier as you can prolong your time in the air leaving more room to dodge and just double jump over a projectiles. Basically, you can find a lot of new and crazy ways to avoid stuff. Then, there's the dodge roll: Basically just a smoke bomb but you can't use it mid-air, it's really not much worse at all than smoke bomb. This is useful because perhaps you need to avoid something on the ground but simply just jumping over it might be a little too risky. Even though you can't dash through stuff mid- air like smoke bomb can, that doesn't make it entirely bad. I know there's some situations where you really need to dash through something mid-air but there is almost always another way out. Hmm so what is that way out? Oh right! The double jump! Thanks to that there will almost always be a way out in sticky mid-air situations, which is a fantastic substitute for not being able to dash through things mid-air. Jeez, I said "dash through things mid-air" a lot. Last but not least, the dash parry. This exceeded my expectations. Is there something parry-able approaching fast towards you? Dash parry! And the cool thing is, you can dash into a pink projectile, and dash **again!** yep, twice in mid-air, this can help avoid attacks as well. Even though you can't jump parry, its really not that bad as the dash parry is more versatile and can still do nearly all the things the jump parry can. The only real situation where a jump parry would be better is if there is a pink projectile right above you, but even then, you should be able to let that go, its just one parry. At first I thought the dash parry would be awkward to use and would be a bad trade for no jump parry but after I tried it its truly incredible. Oh yeah, can't forget the super arts, they are so good and unlike the cuphead supers its actually difficult for me to decide which one I like the best. Super 1, the vertical one: good damage (don't know if its better or worse than the cuphead super 1 in terms of damage) and is fantastic for vertical bosses and bosses that are moving around above you and its difficult to get in position to use cupheads horizontal super 1. But chalice super 1 can still be used on horizontal bosses, just get very close to the left or right to the boss and activate it. Next, Chalice super 2, I think its called "Hit Pal" or something like that. Basically, the next time something hits you, you don't take damage, (basically an extra hp) lasts forever until something damages you and can't stack it with more hit pals. This saved my butt a ton, I would've died on some of the bosses I completed if I didn't use this super Now, super 3, it's kind of like cuphead super 1 but is more wide and lasts longer. But it probabaly doesn't do as much damage. Also leaves a free parry for you when its finished. Not too big if a fan of this one but still solid and definetly better than garbage cuphead super 3. Yes. All of her supers are unbelievably good. Not a single one is bad. For cuphead, the only decent one is the first one but not nearly as good as chalices. The other two are totally pointless. All I use is chalice and she actually looks cute which is another plus.
Super3 for cuphead is incredibly strong but poorly used. With charge shot it has some of THE highest dps in the game and lets you skip the final phase of mob.
@DarkCoreX Hard to control, lasts for like no time when I could just use Super 1 and blast the shit out of my enemy with Guaranteed hit and high damage, PLUS a minor moment of invulnerability? I don't think so
The only real issue I had with this boss was really the background. All the various things thrown at you feels like it's blending into the background time to time. But the pattern is more easily avoided. But eyes feel weird after fighting this one
I found killing the horses and staying near the bottom/middle made phase one easy. For phase two I'd stay in the middle for both attacks. With phase three shrinking really helped me move in time. Finally with phase four I stayed close-ish to her and I barley beat her.
Hey Justo I was able to S Rank Howling Aces here’s how: I chose to use spread and crack shot weapons, for the first phase I would switch between the two to get rid of fire hydrants with the help of the crack shot, then if the boss was for away from me I would also use crack shot, if the boss and his plane were above me I would use the spread and double jump to do massive amounts of damage on him I then would repeat until next phase, for the second phase you would want to stay in the middle of all the pups around you, and if you have your super ready at the beginning of phase two I suggest that you pick the vertical super and get rid of two pups so you can get through phase two quickly, (I suggest that you use crack shot to get rid of the pups) finally, on phase three you have to remember that the yellow dog bowls that get thrown at you from the sideways camera angle can be dodged by just staying on the ground and not jumping, the lasers can be avoided easily if you can remember where to go, remember to use a super or Ex on this last phase so you do the super bar to get the S rank.
I also found something too when playing on expert on her 2nd phase when she is dropping bank vaults you can go left and right repeatedly. Sometimes this actually works and you could get really lucky if you do this tip so your welcome :)

Did you know on the final phase if you use the chalice super and hit the very back of the level without running into winchester some of the phase 3 assets will spawn? Idk if it's on pc but it's funny. this is a glitch not a secret btw
Everyone brain works differently. I notice too that the bosses that where easy for me where hard for others and vise versa. I found the giant the easiest to S rank.
So the best way to get S rank on this boss is to follow these steps below. 1. Get the divine relic. I’m not gonna say how to get that charm here, just look at the wiki or follow a guide. This thing is insanely useful, as it give a boosted coffee effect, parry ring’s ability, and whetstone, which isn’t too important here. 2. Practice. The final and third phases are a pain in the ass, but if you want to beat it all I can say is spend time getting used to the “blowback” effect of the phases, and this is especially true for the final phase. 3. And now, we get to the actual guide. So for the first stage you’re going to want to shoot down all of the mechanical cows that fly in from the right. Even though they sometimes shoot parry projectiles, they are going to be more of a hassle than anything so just get rid of them. As for the dynamite vulture, You’re going to need to move to the top and then slightly to the right of where the dynamite lands. The pattern never changes so just make sure to know where it lands. As forward that sheriff herself, I suggest you stay around her lane, and change out lane whenever she moves up however if there are too many project tiles you should go to the other lane and focus on dodging them. For the second stage it’s similar to the gobstopper machine from the stages of Baroness Von Bon Bon, except incredibly more difficult. You need to focus on where your plane is and just hold down the fire button to ensure you can get through this phase. And for the safes that fall from the sky, the last one of those will shoot out a parryable projectile. It’s all practice, tbh. For the third stage, good luck. This stage is a even bigger pain in the ass, as there is the blowback effect I mentioned earlier. I suggest you practice doing this part consistently with less than one hit. If you get under two HP, keep going and see if we can make it to the final phase if you can then look at the next paragraph. And finally the fourth stage you’re going to want to take everything from the first three stages, and put it on steroids. This is probably the biggest one killer of the entire boss battle, and to be honest you were just going to need practice. The blowback effects from stage three is here and now there is a stream of sausages coming from her tin can. The sheriff also shoots flaming hot peppers from her can and occasionally one of them will be perishable do not go for them unless they are extremely close to your escape route from the sausages. As mentioned it in this video, look ahead of time to figure out where you are going to go, And try not to get ahead by the peppers or the sausages. I think the easiest way to Dodge is a sausages, is to stick to the top left of the screen and go forward or backwards to dodge the sausages. And finally, you have arrived at the end. I don’t think the time limit is much of a problem and the only thing you really need to worry about is the health, so good luck and keep trying. Eventually you will get it, as it took me around 20 tries to get the S rank. Good luck, and have fun.
That last phase is a bitch and a half, but finally beat the cow yesterday! I've noticed with the DLC that it seems to slow you down when you activate your super on the airplane level. Kinda glitchy.

Her plane is useless. I prefer Cuphead's concentrated peashooter.

Their is a secret phase in the howling aces boss if you don't kill the pups in the second phase
Another tip: Dont use your ex plane move in second phase because you can get confused with coins and your ex move (AS MS CHALICE).
