Hang onto the mk3. It's catching on and the aftermarket and swap options are expected to grow. Personally I would do an NA k series build for it.

it's the same engine in the early 3rd gen camry lol, it's so overbuilt - good for at least 400 hp, people have pushed it to 600...
You can enjoy a car that sounds good all the time, a fast car sometimes.

i've got a camry with the 3vz v6, it's not the fastest, but it's faster than most people expect an old camry like that to be, and by god it is so fun driving up and down twisty back roads and taking corners at high speed. People say these camrys are bland because they don't bother pushing them
@@edbo10 Okay so Camry, here's what I'd be doing. Manual transmission swap, and a maybe some Lotus parts. Take out some weight. What year Camry? I had an 88 Corolla FX and an 88 MR2. Both amazing and fun in their own way. 1.6l of Japanese fury. I'd like my next car to be 5 cylinders, I'm thinking Volvo wagon.

@@pgtmr2713 i had a 96 camry. i pissed off a flashy late model jeep once because he didn't expect my shitbox to be able to launch as quick as it did. the 3vz has great torque down low which makes it excellent for going from lights.
a manual swap would really wake it up...the a540e is bulletproof, but it's a 90s slushbox auto...
@@SANTANA1deep nah, i totalled it being an idiot in the wet. got an 89 cressida now which significantly lessened the impact of losing a great car.
Well I can say from doing it, the VW/Audi 3.2 VR6 fits in the spyder and sounds awesome. I'd recommend that if you want to squeeze 6 cylinders where 4 should be. A 2.8 with an Ebay turbo should be a little more cost effective though.

Check out Mitch Dore too. He's in The States but has a 2zz turbo. More of a cleaner street build than this but shows it's potential never the less
Stick with the sw30, Frankenstein motor works is working on something big with the 2ar fe and at stock it makes 205whp and you'll have plenty of space to turbocharge it. He's aiming for 300whp N/A and the 2ar might be a cheaper and better option than the 2gr.
MK2 Vids are ten a penny. MK3 ones and MK1videos aren't, not too much about on you-tube for those, that's why me and my friends always loved your channel. You have probably the largest presence for roadsters on the internet. All that will be gone mate. RIP channel after all the incredible work. (real shame.) ;(

Go MK2 Lee. Ultimately It's about how the car makes you feel and as capable as the MK3 is its just never grabbed me. I've owned my rev2 base J spec for six years and absolutely love it. More versatile and practical than the MK3 and as you know you only have to take a look at the Thai modified scene for inspiration on the body mods. Add a V6 into the mix and you've created something you'll want to live with long term 👍 keep the content coming buddy
please keep the mr2 Spyder and 2zz turbo it, it will be wicked!

Hood vents are to small , and the wing needs a steeper angle . Setup looks decent though . If it's a drifter it probably does its job well .
If you need more practical then mk2 is the obvious choice, but if you can stand the lack of space then the 2gr fits in the mk3 :D
I can stand the lack of space as the mr2 is a toy. 2gr is great but a costly option!

Don't sell that beautiful custom MK3 you've got. Its gorgeous. Perhaps a new Paint job or wrap just yo change It a bit, some interior details and maybe some engine tweeks or Swap and you Will surely feel the Spyder passion again

If you want reliability, and amazing throttle response, there is no substitution for a Honda k20.
@Spyderlee no third option of keep the MK3 and get the MK2. (I have both MK2 and MK3, like them for different reasons, both very good cars)

Well i've seen them put an LS 1 & 3 V8 in an MX5 & in a beachbuggy i've seen them put a V8 in a Porsche 911, dya think you could get a V8 in that. May i add you woukd have the first road legal wheelying mr2 in the uk lol 👍✌🙏

In my opinion the 3vz overheats alot u should try the 5vz
Lol nope, and what makes u think a truck engine will fit in? My 3VZFe is at 300k plus never smoked or overheated. Just maintain ur vehicle and the 3vz is much better,lighter,faster , smaller and more economical on gas. Never heard anyone recommend the 5VZ on any car let alone a small coupe
@@detonater1348 the 5vz engine is the same bell housing and engine mounts, and near the same size and weight to the 3vz, but it has a bigger displacement and it is more powerful, 190hp on the 5vz and the 3vz has only 145hp💀 secondly look up Toyota 4Runner 5vz, Toyota sienna 5vz, Toyota Highlander, Toyota Avalon, and some Lexus models that I forgot, I also owned a 3vz but I engine swapped it with the 5vz in my 1990 Toyota pick up, it’s cool u have that engine but out of all my Toyota pickups and I worked with 20 for 10 years I understand a lil about it

@@detonater1348 u use ur for daily driving I use mine for racing, a lot of companies have 5vz swap kits for any car with the 3vz engine, specifically the Toyota 4Runner, it’s not faster for its a distributor based, 3.0l displacement while the 5vz is a 3.4l displacement, if u search up any video talking about the 5vz they all say it was a better newer version of the 3vz, cant u do math that 200hp on the 5vz is more that 130hp on a 3vz, not only that the torque on the 3vz is horrible compared to the 5vz

@@ModorFix Slower? It's not handling as well as the mk3, but definitely not slower lol. The mk2 beat the NSX on the quarter. And as a 6ft1 male, I can definitely tell you, it's by no means claustrophobic, it's actually very comfortable to be in. Prone to rust, well if you don't take care of it, sure.

@@iamkjeld someone is very sensitive about their car. Just giving my opinion. The mk3 stock isn't faster no, but Lee's car, power to weight will be. I know Lee and his car, I am talking from my experience of both cars. Not a biased "because I own a mk2 you should own one and nothing else compares"
