Theres no doubt that his songs are healing. I tried to explain it to a friend, only one of many things he didnt understand, that the sentimental songs arent always about love or breakups. I never analysed this song before today, I just had the sense that this song speaks what my father would have sung to me. He passed away from alcohol related damages seven years ago. He was in such a bad state the last twenty years of his life that he was unrecognisable. He never saw who I was, he never saw my beauty, he was never there for me. With this song I feel that he is telling me that he is out there somewhere.
