With a Labour party like this, the Tories will be back in charge in no time.
No doubt, England hasn't got an snp unfortunately (that is sad)
Quite frankly I don't think it will make any difference which of the big two are in power, they're both are going to screw us over.
@@HShango Yeah, Wales has Plaid Cmryu, Cornwall has Mebyon Kernow, and of course NI has Sinn Fein, but almost no hope remains for the poor, suffering Englishman to get out from under the tyranny of being ruled by the English ruling class.

@trumputiaxisofevi4267 this version are tories.
Rachel Reeves "We need to grow the economy to give prosperity for all." Liz Truss "In order to give prosperity for all, we need to grow the economy." Spot the difference.....
Is there something wrong with the idea of growing the economy?
It does depend how you grow it tho. Lizz wanted to grow it by giving handouts to the rich whereas Labour want to grow it through green investment
@@bwright227yes if it’s through de regulation and rampant profiteering. Growing the economy and making the rich richer while the poor starve doesn’t help the majority of the country
@@bwright227just saying those words without any plans on how your gonna do it means absolutely nothing
@@bwright227 Absolutely not, we have to grow the economy but we can't just say we're growing in the economy. That not a sound plan.
Spot the difference:
The Tories: "Privatise, privatise, privatise!"
Labour:
"Don't renationalise, don't renationalise, don't renationalise!"
The Tories: "We must reduce taxes for the rich!"
Labour: "We mustn't overtax the rich!"
So what's the difference? I'm damned if I can tell you. We need a real alternative to both parties, otherwise we're just voting for more of the same.
As Orwell said at the end of "Animal Farm," the animals looked through the window from one to the other, and they couldn't tell the difference."

That's the way the establishment want it. A managed 'democracy' serves their interests well.

Fantastic video Owen.
Corbyn was the last hope for my generation to see any meaningful change delivered through my lifetime.
My only hope is that future generations finally, robustly and permanently reject Thatcherism, reject the Tom and Jerry politics of The Tories and the so called Labour Party and move, sorry demand the UK moves into a totally different direction.
Thatcherism has embedded itself into the fabric of our country for 40 years, and its consequences are everywhere, not just in the political realm. Unpicking that isn't something that can be done overnight, or even in one parliamentary term.

Hearing Rachel Reeves repeating Tory Mantras is disgusting!
Incorrect she is repeating the Blairite Globalist Mantra that all the major parties believe in.
I knew what type she was since I heard her say how tough she was going to be on benefits claimants. A Tory to the core!
She really is pathetic isn't she.
She is literally stealing ideas from Liz Truss. I will be voting Greens as the tories and Labour have seemingly merged into an informal coalition of sorts.

She’s sounds like a member of the Conservatives 😡
Usually i vote Labour because i rationalise that at least they are better than the Tories...that is now categorically untrue. They are the Tories.
Hi Amanda - the Tories were pro EU, pro mass immigration, pro open borders, pro nanny state, pro Net Zero, pro endless lockdowns, pro high taxation, pro identity politics.. they are everything that the Left wanted.

Labour started by giving hope. Then when they saw the Tories had messed up so bad they started taking it for granted that they will win. So then they didn't need to stick to their promises any more. That's what i saw happening.
A Labour member for over 40yrs I've never been so disillusioned with what Starmer has done in the last 2years. Revees is just quoting tory policy. Not sure i'll vote at all at the next election.
I'm sure that I will not be voting red/ yellow or blue tory.
You should vote for the party that keeps the Tories out.
The trouble is, if you don't vote, you're still going to get a government anyway, and whether you voted or not, you'll still be subject to government incompetence and corruption regardless. You get the politicians you vote for (or don't vote against), and you get the governments you deserve.
At least vote Green.
@@justcallmesuperdave1yes do not vote Tory or Labour
Right on Owen! As an American very concerned about the terrible influence of the Trumpian elements in our country,,it breaks my heart to see what the Tories have done to the UK. Given the immense unpopularity ( even hatred) currently among the voters, there is no reason at all for the Labour Party not to run fervently on their strongest hopes. Instead they are either cravenly or corruptly running on empty, discredited Tory positions. This gives the voters no hope at an extremely difficult crisis point. The voters are not stupid and they will not thank Labour for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. This is so sad and makes me so angry, and I am not even British! If there is any way for the people to rudely interrupt Labour’s self-inflicted plunge, could Labour voters demonstrate vociferously in the streets to have Starmer and his cronies removed from their party positions and replaced with genuine Labour members? You definitely don’t need two Tory parties. If something drastic isn’t done soon a rare opportunity will be missed and more suffering for all but the super rich will ensue.
Well said.
No Starmers cronies are in it would take an absolute miracle, also the party has been purged of any dissenters.
Also to be fair to Conservative government they were handed a rotten egg by Darling and Co, they really did the best they could with a terribly dealt hand.
I and other Conservative voters are absolutely livid about the remainer coup currently taking place within the government and especially Sunaks cabinet, expect big changes.
Totally bizarre , what reeves said is exactly Tory policy on the economy .
We're going to end up not with a Tory lite government but a Tory heavy government .

3rd party voting
funny how you can always smell betrayal.......... before it even happens.
They honestly seem to believe that private business can solve all the problems that government are supposed to exist to fix.
Which raises the question: why the bloody hell do they want to be the government if they think it shouldn't exist
Career politicians wanting power but not wanting to use that power.
😠 ‘Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely’. attributed to Lord Acton, a 19th century historian. Over a century later, his aphorism still applies 😡!
The real problem is they know they are next in line to serve the establishment. That's politics after all.
Brexit bucked the system, 3rd party voting en masse could do the same
They can't do what these callers and what her previous stance was, is because that is what Corbyn suggested!

I think your last point hits the nail on the head. You hear people say that at least Labour will be slightly better than the Tories (lately though I doubt even that) but there is no way that the conservative side of the overton window doesn't grow increasingly crazy far right during the period of Labour's first term and actively engage in far-right populism. It feels like we're going out of the frying pan and into the not yet combusted pool of gasoline.
Basically if you want to see what England's future looks like under Starmer look at the US in the wake of Obama. Not pretty would be an understatement on the level of saying that Boris Johnson enjoys an adult beverage every now and again.

They got rid of many small donors (along with any considerations they may have) and all-out courted the big money with events and loudly-announced reversals of the pledges made when they still needed our approval.
