Lovely to see Rocastle scoring; some brilliant challenges and passes from Speed. Both cruelly taken decades too soon. I've just realised today's the 19th anniversary of Rocastle's death - that's weird!
I remember seeing Rocastle when we got a 4-0 drubbing at White Hart Lane. Rocky gave away a penalty when we were already 3-0 down and got stick for it - what most people didn't seem to notice was that Spurs made a quick break, leaving our defence for dead, and Rocky was the only one who made an effort to get back. Rocky wasn't just talented, he had a lot of heart too.
@@LarsBosteen You'd mentioned that Spurs match and how he'd made an effort to prevent a goal when the rest gave up, elsewhere on this thread. Don't remember much about him; I gather he was intended eventually to replace Strachan but was plagued with injuries. Hard to imagine he was our most expensive player up till then, at £2 million! Apparently, Graham forced him out of Arsenal where he was happy and popular.
@@LarsBosteen Anyone who's prepared to track down and post classic Leeds matches is of far more worth than a mere broken record! I wonder if that 5-2 thrashing of Chelsea (somewhen between '69 & '72) is available on YT. I remember that, and the Eddie Gray showboating around So'ton statues, on MotD.
Thanks. All of the stuff I posted I took off VHS recordings I made at the time. Unfortunately, I lot of the games I have can't be uploaded on YT as they get copyright warnings. At first it seemed a bit arbitrary as to what I could / could not upload, but then it became clear - all the disallowed ones are classics (though some get through). Very frustrating that I can't share them. If the 5-2 game isn't on YT, doubtless it's because it got blocked.
@ 9:38 - that Chelsea fan with the white jumper with the black pattern on, touching the left arm of Brian Deane - I remember him. I was 9 years old in the East stand at Elland Road. I remember being 4-0 up and the Chelsea fans singing Chelsea Chelsea Chelsea, Chelsea Chelsea Chesea for what seemed like ages (you hear at 17:21). And nearly 30 years on, I remember *him* specifically singing it.
Amen to that. I remember seeing him Spurs v Leeds. He gave away a penalty and got blamed - but no one seemed to notice that our defence had gone AWOL and he was the only one who even bothered to run back and try to tackle.
Little Rod Wallace what a player for Leeds

Uhm, old age, I must sound like a broken record...

Great goal David Rocastle RIP.

How good was Gary Speed at heading the ball👌👌

I know I am kinda randomly asking but do anyone know a good website to watch new movies online?
@Cayson Emilio try Flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
Vintage premier league when it was good. Only 2 foreign players on the whole field unless you count two Irishmen in Kelly and Cascarino
Gary McAllister was class!
And now we are back...MOT
I was in the lowfields with my girlfriend , I took her for her birthday she's still Leeds now 28 years later mot
First heard of Rocastle on Ian Wright on TG podcast

ONLY 2 OVERSEAS PLAYERS ?????? NO OIL RUBBLES
Gary kelly playing in 1993!?!?!?;
Made his debut (sub) in Leeds' 3-0 win against Scunthorpe in the League Cup on 8th Oct 1991. Full debut was against Man City on 14th Aug 1993.
@@LarsBosteen This was the season that got him into the Republic's 1994 World Cup squad. He was unplayable in 93, 94 and 95. Pure class.
Typical chelsea backing the day- concede 1 and the roof caved in, before they managed to pull one back
who in your opinion is a bigger club historically chelsea or leeds
Ground half empty for a top premier league match... we fill it every game in the championship!!
For a city the size of leeds there has been some shocking attendances over time
Everyone is standing in the Kop end, wally!
Chelsea before corrupt Russian money
Ridsdale..say no more..where you now?
chelsea a bigger club than leeds
For the first time... I didn't know Chelsea Robbed the corrupt money
