I Don’t know if I’ve ever shared my thoughts about how much I’ve learned from Mr. Mike Haduck and from @Mr. Kirk Giordano and family but I was able to get a painting job from one painter and he was ecstatic and because I could patch. Painter/patcher by trade but after watching me go to work on time and clean up my work station before leaving he ended up giving me a $2.00 raise just to show me that he appreciated it.countless hours of watching haddock and Giordano’s I had decided to make my own business cards and and I have slowed down since. If it’s concrete, nor stucco. I paint. My other speciality is to install the shluter system and time which are true, plum and level. Thanks you guy’s

Perfect timing on this video u posted Mike. I gotta fix a 4ft wall for my parents that holds dirt&grass at the end of the garage. It looks like the same thing that the porch u fixed looks like it's falling apart at the top 1 1/2feet with a couple cracks like the one in ur video, we got the same freeze&thaw weather here in wisconsin like u do there. Should I paint it with portland first to help it bond or just wet it down good like u did? Also how should I charge them, a flat rate or time& materials? LOL!! Just kidding on charging them! Thanx for another great video & for answering my questions & nice one on ur nephew asking what to do if it falls apart when u pull the forms! Get in ur truck & take off fast, hilarious!! Always a pleasure watching ur videos!!👍 Take care.

Hello Mike. Thanks again for your videos on concrete repair. I have learned so much from you.
I have a similar job to do to repair a porch slab 8 ft x 30ft, but the slab has had several repairs. The top surface on most of the slab is in poor shape showing agregate rocks like in this video, except for one area. The surface on that area is in relatively good condition but it is about 1 inch higher in elevation. It used to be a small room that has since been removed. My plan is to resurface the areas in poor condition to match the elevation of that one good area. The question is: what concrete mix would you recommend?

I have the identical problem and the porch looks identical with overhang. You mentioned in your video you could use other type product drying time would be to leave the forms overnight, that would be no problem. What would you suggest to use? Not being experienced using that rapid motor set I would feel better using a material that gives me time to work with it. And after removing the forms what product would I use to fill in the voids.
You mentioned Portland and sand, do I use your regular mix? Two sand to one Portland?

Does anyone understand why Mike used Rapid Set Mortar mix on this porch cap and not Rapid Set Cement All? Is it because the porch cap in this video only needed the edges rebuilt? I'm confused why he sometimes uses the mortar mix on a repair and other times he uses the Cement All mix. He only used the Cement All as a final coat on this repair. Why didn't he just use it for the whole job? Would that not have worked? Is the mortar mix easier to work with than the Cement All? Or is there another simple reason that I'm just not understanding? In an earlier video, Mike says to use mortar for vertical applications and cement/concrete for horizontal applications. But then I see Mike patch a driveway (a horizontal application) in one of his videos using Rapid Set Mortar mix. If someone could explain this, I would really appreciate it

In my mind they are the same stuff, one has sand in one dosen't, mortar mix is easier to use, I don't know why they call it mortar because it hardens like concrete, so I use the motar mix more often, thanks mike

I recently bought special porch paint and it had coarse sand in it to offer traction in slippery conditions. It's a much better option than carpet if anyone is interested.

You're welcome. I bought it at Lowe's if you are wanting to get some. You can have them make it any color you want like regular paint.
