Love your reaction Jade, this movie had my jaw on the floor pretty much the entire time the first time i saw it. Such audacity 😝 P.S. @21:44 The "little guns" are actually quite deceptive. They are Smith & Wesson .38 snub nosed special's. They were favoured by th FBI and other law enforcement agencies because they were powerful, easily concealable, accurate and extremely reliable.
My favorite story from the book is when he was in Boston, and he bought a security guard uniform, a briefcase, and an "Out of Order" sign. He then went to a mall on a Friday afternoon, and put the "Out of Order" sign over the slot businesses used to drop off their weekly cash deposits. He stood next to the sign, and people just dropped businesses' weekly earnings into his briefcase. Then he just walked out of the mall.
A note about the arrest in France scene. There's a white-haired gentleman wearing a peaked cap walking around one of the police cars. That's the real Frank William Abagnale Jr.
Jade, another great reaction! I especially enjoyed the guest starring Amy Adams as the sweet, but secretly wild and hyper passionate hospital candy striper. Amy really nailed that small role and made it memorable. Spielberg and composer John Williams expertly recreated the whole period vibe, almost as if it was actually an older movie filmed in the day.
I am way too honest to ever do anything like this. I remember being a teenager and accidentally stealing a chocolate bar from a store in a shopping mall. I reached in my pocket and just found it in there, I panicked the entire time walking back to the store to put it back. That was like 20 years ago.
Not promoting lying, sociopathy or any criminal activity bit Franks genius mind which never hurt anybody lived a hell of a life snd is mow legally living a productive financial free life.
Another great reaction Jade like always, this movie its so good its one of my favourites and what a deluxe cast, Some fun facts about this movie it took 22 years for the book to be turned into a movie. and frank abagnale admits that the story was exaggerated. Carl Hanratty is based on several FBI agents who pursued Frank Abagnale, mostly one named Joseph Shea. Keep up the amazing work.
That scene of him coming home to see his mom with a new family always breaks my heart. He did everything in his life to make money so that his parents will get back together, so they can go back to being a family again. But then, he comes back to his father already dead, and his mom having moved on.
First thought lol omg this girl is so brittish or some euro and it's wonderful hahah I'm excited to see this.... great reaction God bless. My favorite part is when he says "I would NEVER give up my son" I gotta sub damn. Lol her southern accent is on point tho lol
love your reaction! i felt your edge of the seat energy. Leo and Tom played their characters incredibly. sorry to hear that your parents separated when you were young. mine did too and i blamed them for my upcoming. I now understand the reason why they did what they did and I'm glad they pursued their happiness and not live a lie.
I really love your take on movies and your honesty, If you liked this story and would like to watch another similar movie a little older you should watch the great Imposter with Tony Curtis it is another true story as well!
This story was based around Frank Abagnale, who has a history of being a criminal con man. And he conned a movie studio, and Steven Spielberg, into believing this story was true and real. He did in real life fake as a airline pilot for a few weeks, and basically stalked a woman at the airline. He also wasn't chased by authorities and FBI during that timeline, because he was already in jail at that time. Even an article about this in Esquire magazine.
Loved your reaction. Wow started at age 16. If you are interested, the real Frank Abignale was a guest on the tonight show with Johnny Carson after he had straightened his life out. Very fun& informative!
His biggest con was convincing everyone that all this was a true story, which it was not. He faked a few cheques and flew a few flights as a dead head pretending to be a pan am pilot, but that was it. Everything else was BS.
Jade your reactions are the absolutely best ever. Divorce/Separation is usually not easy, my Grandpa Webb's parents divorced when he was only 5 or 6 years of age at the time and he only saw his father once or twice after that, he never really had a father figure in his life until he married my Grandma and has said my Great grandfather was more a father figure to him than his father (my great Grandpa Webb) ever was plus my grandfather in Maine is currently in his second marriage, his first marriage ending in divorce since my biological grandmother in Maine cheated on him twice in the first case he let it slide and the second time was the straw that broke the camel's back and they divorced shortly after that and October of 1994 he married my maternal grandmother in Maine. Your background is absolutely awesome, just like you are actually at the movies. You look absolutely gorgeous and beautiful as always
Frank's book is even better than the movie, Jade. You wondered if he ever actually tried to fly an airliner when he was impersonating a pilot. He wrote that sometimes when he was "deadheading," the plane's captain would invite him to take over as pilot. So, the first thing he would do after sitting down in the pilot's seat would be to turn on the "autopilot." When the FBI interviewed the aircrew of airlines that Frank scammed for free trips, some pilots said that Frank was an actual pilot because he had flown their plane with no problem.
Great reaction as always. There are some interviews and lectures on RUclips with the real Frank Abagnale, JR where he talks about his career as a thief. He says the movie is mostly accurate. They are worth watching in my opinion.
Jade, you continue to be a great reactor, this movie is my favorite post-1977 Spielberg movie, by far. Great cast. Elizabeth Banks, Amy Adams, Martin Sheen and Christopher Walken are particularly fantastic in this.
I love seeing people react to this because it IS a true story and it's so mind blowing that no one would believe it if it wasn't true. If Hollywood wrote this, no one would have made the film.
Good movie. Good reaction. Kinda sad at the end though he's on the run for so long, he just wants someone to talk to so he calls the cop on Christmas. Then he gets caught and finds out his dad died. He had to leave every one behind until he couldn't run anymore.
Great Reaction, Jade! Another great movie with Leo is 'The Aviator'. It's about Howard Hughes life. It was directed by Martin Scorcese. Great Movie, IMO! 😊
If you liked this I'd suggest watching The Aviator. It also starts Leo DiCaprio and is based on a true story. For more Tom Hanks I'd recommend Road to Perdition, which is a good departure from the average Tom Hanks type of role.
I just discovered your RUclips movie reaction channel and I really enjoyed and appreciated your reactions, - my first was your response to a “ A Beautiful Mind, “ I like to suggest another movie based on true life story also starring Russel Crowe,- “ Cinderella Man. “ I bet you’ll like it as much as A Beautiful Mind. I hope to see it soon, but In the mean time I’ll keep up on all flicks coming up here !
Lovely reaction - really thrilling watching this again w you - I hope you're comfortable squeezing your chair and mic into your new auditorium lol - one of Spielberg's best; so smooth yet disarmingly personal - see his West Side Story - re con artist see American Hustle and Chameleon Street - re psychological games see Mamet's House of Games - also Mamet's Wag the Dog (jaw-dropping) - and also his Glengarry Glen Ross (classic) - some of these films are off the beaten path, but I think you'll really like them
I was 8 also when my parents called me into their bedroom to break 'the news', one of six children ages 11-2. I told them I thought they were gonna tell me that he was dying!
Many Russel Crowe movies are reacted to by many “You Tube movie reactioners. But one that I think is very much worth a watch and hasn’t been done yet is “Proof Of Life”. Give that one some thought to watch / react to, - I think your fans will like it.
Another great reaction, so glad your did this move its one of my favorites, By the way just have to say your much better looking then any of those girls. Should be a model yourself.
Several years after this film came out, the work of several independent researchers proved that most of Frank's autobiography (on which this film is based) is lies -- and much of the rest severely stretches the truth. It turns out that Frank's most successful con was his autobiography! And yet, he's told his story so much (for a speaking fee, of course) that many believe he has even convinced _himself_ that it's all true.
Hi Jade, I loved your reaction to this and as a subscriber to your channel, I love your reactions :) you're a lovely, gorgeous lady. Yeah this is quite a story and quite a movie! Yes, it really was a game of cat and mouse! Completely unrelated, my suggestion for a movie for you to react to is Memphis Belle (1990) It's the true story of the first US Army Air Corps B17 bomber plane crew's 25th and final mission of their tour of duty in Europe during WWII. Please check it out for the channel soon. Keep up the brilliant work you do.
Abagnale claims the stories told in the book and movie were "exaggerated and overdramaticised" but it seems like more of it was complete fabrications than merely exaggerated. Still a fun movie, though.
It’s a shame that most of the things depicted in this movie have proved to be false. Abagnale made most of it up, so he could feel big and important, instead of the petty small timer that he was. Prison records show that he was incarcerated from the ages of 17-20.
He was a fantastic liar. Unfortunately for the enjoyment of the movie, he did none of those things in real life. He was a small-time con artist who told this very tall tale and went so far to write a book about it. He was so good at "the con" that when he was approached about the making of a movie, he successfully lied and said the book was all true ...but it wasn't. It wasn't till after the movie was made and people looked into his story deeper that it was found out its basically completely fiction! No one ever thought to verify the story! When curious internet savvy people started checking up on it all the truth came out. It is true that he is doing well financially now [since the book and the movie and all] and it is true he was even on that game show [to tell the truth] [where he continued the ruse] but they keep records of things like bar exams, doctors, lawyers and such and now the truth of the lie can be found on the internet. Needless to say, he never passed the bar he was never a lawyer or a doctor and on and on. Sad because it does make the movie a little less enjoyable knowing that it isn't a true story and so, simply a work of fiction. I forget all the details of what the truth is but with an easy search on the internet the truth of his life is out there. Great reaction though and it IS a fun movie, and it is best seen believing it was a true story. I only found out after seeing some other reactors do it and reading comments [as I believed it to be true too. Remarkable and fantastic but true but it's not ...sad face here]. Still a fun movie, great acting, good story and enjoyable when one thinks it's all true. Enjoyed the reaction. Sorry to feel compelled to let you in on the truth. [The great imposter a 60s movie, I believe, with tony Curtis is more accurately based on true events if you'd like to see another like this] Still great reaction and I look forward to the next.
And the question I have to myself: does his Total Lie make this a better story, or worse? I don't like being lied to but, c'mon, who goes to movies and doesn't suspend their belief? That's why I like the original DRACULA, and enjoy ABBOTT & COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN so much.
Okay, I honestly gotta say, the cuts in this video were a little to quick, they seriously made me a little nauseous at times. I hope in future reactions you keep scenes a little longer so that I don't get the feeling of having to throw up that often... Kind regards!

Great background!
I loved your reaction yet can not decide whether you are British or Australian or American? lol
What is your nationality,please?
The guns are snub nose 38. They were the standard among plainclothes law enforcement up until the 80s and 90s.
@@tylergay2012my grandfather carried one when he was a cop, he left a modern one to me when he passed, it's a great gun.
I love the background, Jade 💜 it feels like you're actually in the movies!
Love your reaction Jade, this movie had my jaw on the floor pretty much the entire time the first time i saw it. Such audacity 😝
P.S. @21:44 The "little guns" are actually quite deceptive. They are Smith & Wesson .38 snub nosed special's. They were favoured by th FBI and other law enforcement agencies because they were powerful, easily concealable, accurate and extremely reliable.

16:45 I love your reaction here “Humans are strange!” 💯😂
Did you notice the actor who played Bill Guarnere in Band of Brothers? One of the Handratty team.
Frank John Hughes is a damn fine actor.
A note about the arrest in France scene. There's a white-haired gentleman wearing a peaked cap walking around one of the police cars. That's the real Frank William Abagnale Jr.

I frickin love Brenda in this.

I reached in my pocket and just found it in there, I panicked the entire time walking back to the store to put it back. That was like 20 years ago.
Don't worry, Frank didn't do any of this either. He just made it up, and people believed him. It's since all come out to be completely nonsense.
I did the same thing
Loved your reactions on this one jade. You were so excited! Also the movie theater background is awesome!
what an amazing reaction! Love!

I still say I concur to this day.
Great reaction, Jade. I love the parallel of the choir singing at Montrichard with the choir singing at Rachamps in Part 7 of Band of Brothers.
F'n HELL! A REGULAR movie! YAY!
Perhaps no tears this time. You deserve a feel-good movie.

He's lying, according to Wikipedia...
15:10 $1000 in 1963-1965 was the equivalent of just under $10,000 today!
I forgot how much I enjoyed this film, thanks for the reaction
Jade, you continue to be a great reactor, this movie is my favorite post-1977 Spielberg movie, by far. Great cast. Elizabeth Banks, Amy Adams, Martin Sheen and Christopher Walken are particularly fantastic in this.
You should watch Road to Perdition. Tom Hanks' best performance, imo.

Great reactions - I kinda stumbled across this movie, not realising how good it was (Abignale Jr. was some kind of genius, eh?) - glad you liked it :)
I absolutely love this movie. Tends to be on TV around Christmas time

Love this movie glad you reacted to it
This is a portion of what Frank did. The book goes into greater detail.
I like the background.
@MovieJoob You got a great smile. 😊
this movie is such a classic, one of Leo's and Tom's best movies
You should also watch young Tom Hanks in his first really good role...film is called Big.
I was 8 also when my parents called me into their bedroom to break 'the news', one of six children ages 11-2. I told them I thought they were gonna tell me that he was dying!
It is such a good movie. My favorite part when the model pays him for a night a pleasure. 🤣

What happened to watching The Pacific?
Yep
Abagnale claims the stories told in the book and movie were "exaggerated and overdramaticised" but it seems like more of it was complete fabrications than merely exaggerated. Still a fun movie, though.
Love the channel. May I suggest a fantastic Kevin Bacon movie called Taking Chance. True story. Bring tissues.
How are you doing friend?
Look up the story of Kevin mitnick true story
It’s a shame that most of the things depicted in this movie have proved to be false. Abagnale made most of it up, so he could feel big and important, instead of the petty small timer that he was. Prison records show that he was incarcerated from the ages of 17-20.
Their guns are little so that they can be concealed under their jackets.

Spot on. Great movie but most of his claims have been proven to be untrue. There’s a good book that demonstrably shows it.
Most any movie that says "based on a true story" is going to be a work of fiction. A movie is still made to put butts in cinema seats.
And the question I have to myself: does his Total Lie make this a better story, or worse? I don't like being lied to but, c'mon, who goes to movies and doesn't suspend their belief? That's why I like the original DRACULA, and enjoy ABBOTT & COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN so much.
based loosely on a true story
The "true story" revealed by Frank in his book is even wilder than the movie.
Jade is such a doll, right fellas?
Actually this guy is a liar, he did nothing this movie or the original book mentions
Okay, I honestly gotta say, the cuts in this video were a little to quick, they seriously made me a little nauseous at times. I hope in future reactions you keep scenes a little longer so that I don't get the feeling of having to throw up that often... Kind regards!
Great reaction and great movie but ironically the entire story is a fraud. Franks Abagnale Jr’s lies all turned out to be…lies lol
