I have been using my Toro Leaf Blower/Vac for years sucking debris out of our rock areas. Best thing to do ever! Sometimes I rake the rocks first to loosen debris. Really helps keep weeds from forming in my opinion. I usually only do this method during spring clean up when leaves are clumped or wet. Works beautifully.
Yep.. MY first Toro worked for years.. finally had to let it go, this new one with the metal mulch blade even better
When they're wet ? I would think they would be heavier and more difficult ...no?
How do you keep from vacuuming up rocks, too?
@@terischmitt4088 when it's little Pebbles you set it on low and it won't suck them up I just bought one it works fairly well I'm not real real thrilled with it but it works pretty well and then you can set it on high on bigger rocks
I just kick the rocks around until it looks like I did something. 😂
ROFL! great trick :)
My neighbour just complained that your blower is too loud. 🤣🤣. All kidding aside, I was afraid this was my only option. Thanks for video.
They are pretty noisy.. I always hearing protectors :) Take Care :)
If your neighbor complained of the noise does that not mean _your_ audio volume was turned up too high?
I have that same vacuum. It’s definitely strong enough to pick up smaller rocks. I was thinking of making a guard for the end of it.
for sure.. I just adjust the speed of the motor to where it is just not strong enough to pick up the rocks
Great video.. thanks for sharing. Will this vacuum suck up and mulch little brush clippings?
Thanks ROBERT, yes, this beast has a metal fan blade. It will mulch leaves very well and small twigs etc it can handle
You need a stronger leaf blower. That 18-20V that you are using simply doesn't generate enough force. Rent 60v-80V model or gas model and you will see the difference.
The stems get stuck in the rocks .. but I would imagine something with considerably more power would just rip up the leaves?
What a pain in the ass! Takes forever to do an entire front and side yard!
(So much for replacing the lawn with drought-tolerant landscaping...) LOL
Would be nice to have a Wide angle end attachment, like most vacuum cleaners have.
yeah it can be a little time consuming.. still faster than by hand though
My landscapers have one guy rake the rocks while the other blows....they are a lot faster than a vaccum. But it takes two. The one guy is blowing right where the other guy is raking.
Good tip, thank YOU my FRIEND :)
I did this method years ago and stopped will eventually burn out your much vac blower.. too much pea gravel gets sucked up you'll have to empty the bag sift through the debris and pull out the pea gravel
yeah it does much better in big rocks
Leaf blower is useless for rocks area!! Unfortunately I need to pick it up by hand… one by one! Hope one day something available to resolve this problem
this vacuum attachment works pretty well actually :)
Just put some rocks down a month ago and I have a mulcher. I’m gonna try this out. Thanks.
Hi BIANCA, using the blower can get a lot of the leaves out.. depending on the size of the rocks.. then the vacuum attachment will get the rest that have worked their way into the rocks :) good luck!
I am wondering if you have ever tried taking acorns out of crushed granite stones which about an inch in diameter. I'm afraid that the vacuum would just suck those up.
That would be difficult to do .. acorns are kinda heavy compared to leaves
Looking for a tool to get up pine needles in my rocks. It’s not lava rock so hope this works.
I think between the blower and vacuum attachment YOU will get most of them :)
Would have been nice if there were some leaves in the stone to begin with so we could see if this actually works.
Sorry, EMILY, I can assure you that It does work nicely
@@ETPCYT 👍
Toro is the best leaves blower.
I agree :)
Mines sucks up rocks so i got know idea what to do outside of blowing into a pile over and over
Adjust the suction lower.. or try to hold it a little higher above the rocks
I have the best solution of all! Cut down all the downed trees anywhere around your house no tall, big trees no crap and it falls off the trees during the time that early spring and no branches falling on your house just get rid of all the trees you want to have some little bushes have some little bushes, forget all the trees
that would help a lot :)
Or set up a clear canopy under the tree canopy, or just cover where it's a PITA to clean up, to direct droppings and rain where you want without blocking sunlight.
If the vac sucks up some of the gravel, can this damage the machine?
This one has metal blades.. it's pretty rugged
Well I just ordered it cuz you said it was the best LOL so does any extension cord work on it and does it come with a bag I really could not tell with any of the description thank you in advance
Hello, REDHOT, In my opinion this one is the best.. I had one before that lasted many years.. finally the plastic blade broke.. this new version has a metal blade.. it does come with a bag, and two different sized tubes.. one for sucking one for blowing. Take care and ENJOY!
@@ETPCYT thank you just got it and getting ready to try it right now!
Hi, which model is the one your using? The links are two different models. Thank you for the review.
I think this one is the 250 mph one 51621.. Have a great day, SHERI :)
Would it also pick up the rocks
you can adjust the suction power.. so depending on the rocks.. these it won't pick up.. it will pick up lava rocks though
Can you tell me is this stones not going through blower fan ?
These do not.. you can adjust the suction to different strengths.. and even if you suck up a couple, the fan blade is metal.. I use this on my lava rocks..some get sucked up occasionally but it hasn't been an issue
if the leaves were drier, i'll bet they'd blow easy out of those rocks. I can't be doing with spending that much time and energy on an area 24x8 feet of stones.
they do blow off pretty well.. probably the best would be to blow off as much as possible then the ones that were still stuck could be vacuumed :)
Link to that Toro vacuum please ? Amazon link?
Sure thing, NATALIE, one second..added to the description.... sorry I had them there before but an accident changed ALL my video tags and descriptions to the same thing :(
That was rude. I’m sure he did what he could. I think we should appreciate his willingness to help instead of criticizing his tools . 💕
Don't the rocks get sucked up? I have red river stones with years of pine needles. I have a blower /vac but was afraid to use it.
you can adjust the suction on this .. I have lava rocks in my front yard.. it will suck one or two up occasionally but I rarely have an issue..with these big rocks it will not suck them up
I bought a greenworks that looks identical to this one just green, and it sucks, or rather it doesn't suck up any leaves just acorns and twigs, and leaves all the leaves - it makes no sense.
hmmm.... you would think it would suck up leaves too if it can suck up acorns.. that is odd.. a lot less resistance with a leaf....
Do your rocks get sucked up too?
This will suck up lava rocks but not bigger rocks or river rocks.. the vacuum can be adjusted too so it's not too powerful
Our trouble is that our lava rocks are so lightweight. I don't know if this would work.
I also have lava rocks.. They are in my front yard.. and I have bushes that I trim and all the little leaves fall in amongst them. .. Just turn the power down a little and if it does suck one up I turn it off then restart.. It works pretty well :)
@@ETPCYT Oh cool! Good to know. Thank you!
YOU are most welcome :)
I want to know where you from?
Me: PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭
HEy, I am from USA..California :)
Love how people assume because your doing yard work you must not be American. Most just assume Mexican.
Earth
my vacuum is always picking up the gravel and then it burns out. So not sure which machine are you using that has adjustable sucker?
this is the toro leaf blower/vacuum
That does not mess up the vacuum like that ??
The rocks are too big and heavy to suck up.. so it only gets the leaves :)
Doesn't it suck up the Rocks? It would make sense 🤷♀️
the rocks are too heavy to suck up.. I have lava rocks in my front yard and I have to turn the suction down a bit so it won't pick them up..
Meanwhile pick them up by hand 🤦🏻♀️😤😩
takes a bit longer
That looks like too much work
lol yeah but better than picking them up by hand
my vaccum picks up the rocks :(
you need to turn down the speed a bit or lift it a bit above the leaves
@@ETPCYT I don’t have an option for speed but I can lift it up but then it misses some leaves … perhaps I need a more powerful blower/vacuum. Thank you :)
Lesson from this video: Don’t buy junk toy tools.
This is actually a quality tool and quite helpful.. my video isn't the best
Not if you have loose rocks.😒
you have to be a little careful :)
@@ETPCYT 😄Thanks. I was hoping my lawn maintenance guys would know about this. Instead, they leave the rocks alone without even using weed and grass killer to stop them from sprouting up between the rocks. 😒 I gotta get a new lawn service. 😒
that looks like a total PITA. Time could be spent on something so much better
of course.. Time spent reading the bible would be much better
WHAT A JOKE ! YOU CALL THEM LEAVES ?
big ones suck up better.. so easier :)
