Shan, you should totally do a '100 days of LIPSTICK' thing, don't know if that exists already, but considering you have well over 100 lipsticks, challenge yourself to wear a different lipstick everyday for 100 days and take a photo everyday, then at the end you can post it on your blog? Its so sad that every beauty guru on RUclips has to talk about how their not trying to brag about their makeup collection and dismiss rude comments before the video even starts. Its a makeup COLLECTION video for a reason! People shouldn't watch it if they're bothered by how much makeup one person owns.
Please, please, please, PLEASE do a series of in depth collection videos. You can group them by product type and if needed, group them further (i.e. cream eyeshadows/eyeshadow bases and powder eyeshadows, etc). I am a huge fan of these kinds of videos as it helps me really learn all the products out there that have been used by someone I trust. To further the interest of the video, you can also pick your top 3-5 for each category as you haven't really done an up to date video about that. This could give you video content ideas for years! On a side note, if you aren't interested in doing all of that work, will you perhaps made a video about setting powders and which ones are good for under eye vs. face? I've been trying to find a setting powder that doesn't break the bank that will just set the foundation without leaving whiteness or coverage.

I think the only thing about the excessive amount of makeup (because I believe everyone should be able to collect whatever they'd like and how much ever they'd like!) personally for me is the fact that a lot of those brands test on animals and have awful chemicals, so you're hurting yourself and other living creatures. I love your videos and have followed you since the beginning, so I hope you don't take this as hate! Just my perspective on how the amount of makeup could be seen as bad. Other than that, I think if it's your passion & you love it no one should tell you how to live! I just personally prefer healthier/kind options. Love you girl and you look gorgeous in this video as always.
I wish there was a worldwide ban on cosmetic animal testing! Like seriously it's pointless and in reality big companies would earn even more profit if they shifted to a cruelty free status.
I totally agree Hazel! Brianna yes it's very sad. Unfortunately people don't educate themselves on what really happens to the poor animals, and companies can slap on the cruelty-free logo/status by having loopholes and still testing- it's crazy! My channel is strictly cruelty-free & I don't think that'll ever change.

If every makeup consumer was forced to see/know what animal testing really means and how many beautiful animals die needlessly as the result of it, every single one of those people would eventually switch to cruelty-free products. Yes, they are sometimes more pricey (not always though) but it feels much better to own 10 cruelty-free lipsticks than 15 of those which caused many innocent lives to end.
xoLoveLeti Just an interesting thing I thought I'd mention, in the EU (and by extension the UK) there was a ban placed on animal testing for all new makeup products, meaning that all products that were released after 2013 can't have been tested on animals in any way, shape or form, so if something is being sold in both the UK and the US it's cruelty free :)
Also I have more lipsticks than I know what to do with. I've tones of nudes that are one shade different, dark reds and purples in loads of shades only slightly different as well, then like 40 more that are kind of beige/pink/grey evvvvvvvverything 💝💗💗 You should take a look at Jeffrey Star's make up (especially the liquid matte lips, they're beauuuuutiful) and Colourpop! Apparently they're almost the exact same formula as Kylie lip kits, and they're made in the same lab, waaaaaay cheaper, and SO MANY COLOURS!
i don't know if they have it in NZ, but when you were flicking back your eyeshadow palettes it reminded me of that game "guess who" where you'd have to flick all of the little tiles up at the beginning of the game hahaha

I don't think you should ever have to apologise for your accomplishments, and that's essentially what people are doing when they complain about how much makeup you have. If they wanted that much makeup themselves, they should have put the amount of time and effort you have into creating and maintaining a makeup channel. Everyone collects at least one thing in their life. I saw like exact shades in so many of her drawers already..My friend is the exact same way with Bath And Body Works products..She could literally open a store in her house! It drives me bonkers because every time I go to her house she just got back from the mall with yet another haul of duplicate candles, body sprays, lotions, shower gels, hand soaps, etc etc..I get such anxiety because she really never uses any of it!!! It is def. an addiction..or like she said collecting! It's just insane! I have a lot of cosmetics too (no where near Shannons collection though) and when you enjoy makeup enough to collect it, you tend to remember what you have. Or at least I do. I have some duplicate shades but I've never bought a duplicate product.

I think the only thing about the excessive amount of makeup (because I believe everyone should be able to collect whatever they'd like and how much ever they'd like!) personally for me is the fact that a lot of those brands test on animals and have awful chemicals, so you're hurting yourself and other living creatures. I love your videos and have followed you since the beginning, so I hope you don't take this as hate! Just my perspective on how the amount of makeup could be seen as bad. Other than that, I think if it's your passion & you love it no one should tell you how to live! I just personally prefer healthier/kind options. Love you girl and you look gorgeous in this video as always.
I wish there was a worldwide ban on cosmetic animal testing! Like seriously it's pointless and in reality big companies would earn even more profit if they shifted to a cruelty free status.

I totally agree Hazel! Brianna yes it's very sad. Unfortunately people don't educate themselves on what really happens to the poor animals, and companies can slap on the cruelty-free logo/status by having loopholes and still testing- it's crazy! My channel is strictly cruelty-free & I don't think that'll ever change.

If every makeup consumer was forced to see/know what animal testing really means and how many beautiful animals die needlessly as the result of it, every single one of those people would eventually switch to cruelty-free products. Yes, they are sometimes more pricey (not always though) but it feels much better to own 10 cruelty-free lipsticks than 15 of those which caused many innocent lives to end.
xoLoveLeti Just an interesting thing I thought I'd mention, in the EU (and by extension the UK) there was a ban placed on animal testing for all new makeup products, meaning that all products that were released after 2013 can't have been tested on animals in any way, shape or form, so if something is being sold in both the UK and the US it's cruelty free :)

You should take a look at Jeffrey Star's make up (especially the liquid matte lips, they're beauuuuutiful) and Colourpop! Apparently they're almost the exact same formula as Kylie lip kits, and they're made in the same lab, waaaaaay cheaper, and SO MANY COLOURS!

Leaf Pebble what are you talking about "6 months and it all grows bacteria" yes mascara or some gel eye liners can....but this rule does not apply to foundation, concealer, and powder products.
Some of it she just likes to keep because it has sentimental value to her or because it was limited edition or it was one of her favorites.

I don't think you should ever have to apologise for your accomplishments, and that's essentially what people are doing when they complain about how much makeup you have. If they wanted that much makeup themselves, they should have put the amount of time and effort you have into creating and maintaining a makeup channel. Plus... nobody tells a builder they have too many hammers and nails... This double standard is just another way to hate on women, and anyone doing so should be ashamed of themselves. Just saying! Sorry, but I've just watched a bunch of these in a row from different beauty vloggers, and I'm tired of seeing girls apologise for or explain away/disclaim something they really shouldn't have to if people were reasonable and had half a brain.

But what is ridiculous is that they get free products all the time also to say how great it is. And that is not right for us Plus their is plenty of poor girls that can't afford to get makeup and it would mean the world to them if they even got a handful of that stuff. What you're saying is that everyone who has any kind of abundance doesn't deserve it. We can all live with a lot less in our lives, but unless you're living a life of poverty by choice and giving away anything in excess that you do not need, then your comment is hypocritical. And when you strip it back, nobody actually needs makeup at all - we all just want it. This is her collection; people collect all sorts of things, and it's really not up to you to say who can and who can't have things or how they should acquire them.

Everyone collects at least one thing in their life. Whether it be pokemon cards, or magnets, or mugs etc. and I hate it absolutely HATE it when people hate on something that someone is passionate about. just thought I'd throw that out there.

Well that's what I was thinking! I saw like exact shades in so many of her drawers already..My friend is the exact same way with Bath And Body Works products..She could literally open a store in her house! It drives me bonkers because every time I go to her house she just got back from the mall with yet another haul of duplicate candles, body sprays, lotions, shower gels, hand soaps, etc etc..I get such anxiety because she really never uses any of it!!! It is def. an addiction..or like she said collecting! It's just insane! I mean..she (my friend) has the same products just sitting in one room..& she has not touched some of them..except for the day she bought them! I have seen things in the same place not used for yrs now!! lol.. But to each their own..:-) Btw..please don't think I'm being rude..Heck, I'm talking about one of my best friends..I'm just having an opinion..That's all! js
I have a lot of cosmetics too (no where near Shannons collection though) and when you enjoy makeup enough to collect it, you tend to remember what you have. Or at least I do. I have some duplicate shades but I've never bought a duplicate product.
