- A huge Tide pool has formed on the beach at Pipeline and something rare happened, It started draining into and turned into a stationary wave! I also end up having the worst paddle out of my life trying to get out to off the wall to surf. It took me 25 minuets to get out! I also have about 5 shockers surfing Pipeline. I'm writing this from NY but grew up surfing in Southern Cal and moved to Maui when I was 17 in 1975 on my own with the hope of turning pro and lived there till '79. I'm an old dude now and haven't stepped on a board in too long so watching this great surfer Koa rip pipe gives me tons of pleasure. Thanks and thank you utube!
