Amen Doyle, the Vice president where I work walked in this past Monday and gave me a 2020 Martin D28! I’m playing it at church today with an amazing testimony of course! His words exactly, The lord laid it on his heart to give it to me.
I’ve been playing the same guitar for 30 years, a 79-81 Epiphone my father gave me for Christmas when I was 12. I planned on getting a new flat top eventually but not a 3k Martin lol such a blessing.
You are in the F.O.G.
Favor Of God❤
😊🎶🎸
Wow! Now that’s support!
Nothing sounds like a Gretsch!
Amen to that!
Doyle
You are a great blessing to me and to all who hear and see you. I am supported by you and the church family I am blessed with. God bless you brother.
Thanks my friend! God bless you too!
I pray that you make 24 thousand subscribers. String along is a blessing to all.
Thank you Brother Doyle.
I’m in agreement!
Doyle - not only are you my guitar hero but you are like my second Pastor. You can see by all the comments how deeply you are loved. My job requires a lot of driving. Your music is always playing. You have brought incredible joy into my life. I too love the Lord, guitars, and you. ❤
Thanks pal. Glad to be riding along!
Thank you, Doyle. Let's continue to pray for all believers to be a light to a dark world!!
Absolutely!
Dole is amazing guitar player, always enjoying his performance, and he plays very clean!!!
I get overwhelmed watching him. I feel like a 3 year old learning guitar watching him. I’m not great but I’m ok and he’s just amazing. It’s like there’s not even a thought. He could do it blind folded with ear plugs and sound perfect. 😂 amazing.
Thanks so very much!
Love these old hymns, especially your interpretation. May God continue to bless your ministry.
You'll never know just how much YOU encourage me. Your String-A-Longs are such an encouragement and a blessing to so many. Thank you for obeying our Lord Jesus Christ. 🙂🙏🎸
Thanks so very much!
Another inspiring and moving string along. Thanks for sharing your heart, and encouraging ours.
Thanks so very much!! God bless you!
Another beautiful String-Along on this Sunday Doyle. Thank you for sharing the word and the music. Yes…supporting one another, so important. And that guitar you speak of with a thousand year old spruce top. Wow. What a special instrument that will be especially with all the provenance attached. Gob bless and glad you’re feeling better.
It’s an amazing instrument!
Just learned about you 2 weeks ago. Watching you now. Thank you for serving our Lord. I live just south of Cleveland near the old farming town of Cohutta. I’m a 79 year old woman who lives alone. I faithfully served God throughout my younger years. I’ve been slower in more recently times. Being able to click on your videos is a source of blessing. Keep up the good work.
Love those old Gretsch guitars made in Brooklyn , USA....!!!
Keep sayin ' it......playin ' it and prayin ' it......!!!
Amen!!
Love the sound of that Gretsch! The people that support and encourage us are such a blessing.
Absolutely!
Good morning, good brother, glad you’re feeling better! Prayers for you always. Your words and playing this morning blessed me for sure! I’m praying God will help me to uplift and support others in my life. Gods blessings!
Doing great! Thanks so much for your support!
I once was the owner of a Gretch mod 1963 that the Great guitarist Georg Wadenius once owned. I swiched it to a classic Guitar cause i wanted to learn me that kind of music. Today i regret it very much. Keep picking Doyle its wonderful 💕🙂🇸🇪
There still around! The new ones are great too.
You and Rita are always a blessing and a support to me! I thank y’all so much and love y’all. God bless you in your ministry for the Lord, Doyle. 🎸❤🙏✝️🙌🏼❤️
Thanks so much for your support and encouragement Roxy! We love you very much!
This is George near Pittsburgh PA. Doyle I look so forward to your string along for your gift to us all in your playing but also your message to us regarding our Lord Jesus Christ. Keep it up dear Doyle! We need to hear about our Lord and how great he is nowadays more than ever. Bless you and yours.
Thanks George! My son in law Tom is from Pittsburgh. Blessings to you friend!
Thank you for your message and encouragement today! Oftentimes life gets hard. It's wonderful to have such a great Lord who cares for us all ! God bless you and your family!
So true!
Many people are lonely these days, even a thoughtful comment from someone you don’t even know here on RUclips/the internet can lighten up and make them feel better. It’s amazing how the simplest thoughts from people can help you feel better and encourage you to push through. 👍
Amen to that!
I thank you and your family from the bottom of my heart. God bless you all.
Same to you!
Thank you for another encouraging message today, always touching in many ways.
Thank You!
Mr Doyle. Just wanted to let you know how I truly look forward to these videos every week and that you’ve been a blessing to me. A real encouragement . Thank you sir

Okay, now I can start my day. Thanks Doyle! 🙂
Thank You! Have a great week!
God Bless you Doyle! Another great and timely message....God is good!
Thank you kindly
Every time I hear Doyle play it inspires me to pick up my guitar and practice, either that or give up and sell them all, just depends on the day I reckon lol😂
😂
HA! Pick it up my friend! Happy Picking!
Another timely message Doyle! God Bless you for all you do -- it brightens my week. ❤
Thank You…
Thank you for your commitment and encouragement! God is so good! God bless you and your family!
Thank you so much!
Doyle, what a comfort your message and your playing always are! I can't say enough about you as a musician and what I like to think, that we are spiritual Brothers. My friend, always count on my wife and I should you or the family need anything. We believe by the God's Grace we can certainly come with aid to hold up your arms should you share your need. Thank you for all you do in setting a tone for the week.
Mike and Nell
Thanks Doyle for your commitment to play and bring us a devotional word each week. You also inspire me to keep pressing forward in my playing. For a while I was getting a little bored with what I was doing, but you have helped me to take on more challenging pieces of music, which has sparked new life into my playing. Your an awesome brother in Christ and appreciated 🙏
I love it!! Thank you and keep pickin’ for a purpose!
You know who would have loved this? Hank Garland. Greatest ever 'jazz & country' guitarist, equally at home in Nashville or in NYC jazz clubs. Admired by all the other greats, including (or especially) George Benson, who considered Hank a "primary influence." Listening now to 'track 1' on this video -- Doyle Dykes' jazz chord progressions and single line improvisations on (Look Down) That Lonesome Road -- would, I believe, have wowed Hank. I imagine Mr. Garland turning to the guy next to him in heaven and saying, “Chet, you know this guy? My kind of pickin'!”
He did know me and I knew him. Hank was and still is a Treasure!
Thank you, Doyle Dykes! I imagine Chet Atkins would have loved - and in earlier times would surely have recorded - your gem of a ballad (at the 6:03 mark) ON 60 BROADWAY -- honoring the place in New York where Gretsch guitars had been crafted for more than 50 years - from 1916 until mid-1969, before moving to small town Arkansas.
Permit a personal anecdote: The summer of '71 when Chet and a band, that included piano great Floyd Cramer and sax virtuoso 'Boots' Randolph, played an outdoor show in my hometown of Ottawa. Before he went on stage, I had 20 minutes alone with Chet. And he had a question to ask - what I thought about the quality of his Gretsch 'Country Gentleman' guitars. I remember a shadow crossed his face when I said, “The bindings are not as good as on a Gibson.” He was sorry to hear that, but said, “Thank you for telling me! I needed to know that.”
I didn't know that exactly two years earlier, Gretsch had been forced to make the move to a plant in “DeQueen Arkansas” and all of its best craftsmen remained in New York City.
Hi Brother Doyle, As to your comment about nothing being wrong about Playing Old Gospel Hymns on and electric Guitar. I was raised Playing Electric Guitar in Church Playing the Old Hymns. I still once in a while Play an Old Hymn as a special at church. I had to record all the back ground music to play with, But it's such a Blessing. I appreciate and Love your Sunday String-Along So MUCH. Last Week Was WONDERFUL. May God Bless You And Keep You. I Love You Man.........Keep Pickin
Thanks so very much!!
Great playing Mr.Dykes the spirit of Chet Atkins is present
Love that beautiful old axe, & the way you play it. 🙂
Many thanks! It’s really great! Lots of personal history!
Thanks Doyle for that reminder- I had forgotten that section where they held up Moses arms. Also love your use of the word “receive” to describe salvation since we don’t accept the Lord HE accepts us! I was meditating on that this week and was just discussing it with my dear sisters in Christ while serving today! This totally encouraged me, God bless you Doyle
Great word!
Another great Sunday starting with Sir Dykes. I'm used to you dropping some of my friends names. Bob Taylor and I started out at the American Dream in San Diego. Jim Soldi was a legend. He helped us all in any way he could. Thanks for stringing me along with you.
Thank You!! Jim’s s great guy!
Thank you Doyle ❤️!! Supporting one another through prayer 🙏🙏🙏.

Good morning! I think I missed your Easter String a long due to special services at my church. Guess I’ll watch it later today. May God bless you and your family.
Thanks pal
Hi Doyle, I'm so sorry you were sick last Sunday. I wish you had said something. I'm sure we viewers would have understood that you were sick and could not do the string along. Thank you so much for being here. Doyle, Please keep my brother Franklin Charles in your prayers. Johns Hopkins did not give him the good news. I think he is going to try the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville now. We have a cousin who is in Vanderbilt and now has a double lung transplant. His name is Terry Bandy he is from Hurley, Va. Please pray for him also. Thank you for everything. God bless you and your family always.
Okay! We’re going to keep praying for him. You have our support! My family is praying for him too!
.59 Doyle when you went in to that break those speed triplets made me laugh out loud with glee.... I need that today ! tks.🤠
Boy, Doyle, I was going to mention all of those "mistakes" you made in "It Is Well" but you beat me to it! Yeah, right ;-)
Wonderful as usual!
I’m among friends! Thanks so much.
Good Sunday morning Doyle! God bless. 🙏
Same to you!
Thank you, Brother for all you do to help us worship the Lord!
Thanks for that brother!
Thanks for the encouragement Doyle! I really appreciate your channel. Looking forward to seeing the new (old!) resurrection guitar too.
It’s wonderful!
Thanks for the video.
You are welcome!
Glad for the addendum video for this weekend. I like how you mix-up the guitars you play for these Sunday String-Alongs. Hope you have had safe travels out West and back. That Facebook blurb was helpful about the special guitar and Mr. Olson which I why I saw both posts today. One last thing - Mr. Gretsch certainly from your previous comments likes his products to be played in churches and for hymns and sacred songs.
He sure does! Thanks Linda. Awe inspiring weekend!
Always a great start to a Sunday morning. We serve an amazing God! Thank you Doyle for your ministering spirit. BTW..I am re reading your book and going to Marfa in 2 weeks.

Good Morning, may God Bless...
Good morning!
Sorry you were ill Doyle. Was it Covid? I had it and it was bad. Thank you for recording that Sunday show even though you were ill. I imagine God pushed you to do it and helped you complete it👏🙏
Not Covid. Just a 24 hour bug evidently. Yes, the Lord helped me for sure! Thanks so much!
GOD BLESS YOU.
Absolutely! God gives special children to special parents who’ll love and care for them. I’m praying for added strength and support from others to help you. In Jesus name!
Hi Doyle. I’m watching Sunday String Along 4/7/24. You mentioned your book The Lights of Marfa. I bought and read it but it did not come with the DVD you said is included.
Jim from PA
It’s not in a sleeve in the back of the book? We’ll send you one. Just send a note to Holli at holli@doyledykes.com
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Buendia maestro !!! Puede subir el tutorial de Cherokee ???? Gracias 😁👍
I don’t have that yet.
I enjoy your String along every week! Thank you for inspiration and encouragement to play. I know you use a Zoom pedal. What is the other pedal plugged in to it?
It’s an acoustic eq from Orange amplification.
Hey brother, love you! Any chance you are going to be in Jacksonville next week?
Hey Doyle
I love your products but can I be honest about the strings. They don’t sound bad but I’ve been programmed by ear to use Daddario XS strings. What are your thoughts on those? I play pretty much just rhythm and chords. I actually started taking lessons from a friend to finger pick. I have a nice PRS mcarty thin line but I end up playing rhythm on it too because my solo style is terrible. I have no coordination for it. It’s crazy. I can’t figure it out.
May Jesus protect and fill your family with health and love. My family is going through some health issues so prayer is so important.
Ryan 😊🙏🏻
Whatever works best for you my friend. Keep playing your lead lines around your chords. Blessings to you and healing for your family.
@@doyledykesmusic thanks Doyle! Love listening to you. Keep it up. 👍
Brother Doyle, you never will guess who encouraged me today? Some international unknown guitar poor and highly blessed soul...Brother Doyle. I have followed you throughout the years and admired your talents on guitar and wisdom of God's Word. Wow, thank you.
Thank YOU!
