I am just seeing this as my brother passed away on Easter. What an Easter Celebration he had with mom and dad! Your playing of He is Risen was good as Perfection can be! Just Beautiful playing today! When I spoke to his daughter about his passing, she informed me that he was talking to someone who she didn't see. She asked him who he was talking to and what he was seeing, he said "my loved ones, mom and dad. Is that you Jesus?" A minute later he was no longer in his body. We were gifted confirmation that indeed we have Life Everlasting. Praise God we have that assurance through the sacrifice made by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Blessings to you and yours on this blessed weekend. You have a prodigious memory, I marvel at your ability to quote from the Good Book. I absolutely see the value in memorizing scripture, it’s a comfort to recall the word in times of need. 🙏
Thankyou Doyle i needed that . I am a guitarist picker playing chet etc . A couple of years ago i had a machine accident and lost the top of my ring finger . Being a guitarist solo and bands i was devistated . I also play piano aswell . It has took me alot of tears and hard work to get back to playing . I was so depressed and still do get depressed about it . The doctors told me i wouldnt play again ..i said noooo i will . Ive been down for so many years since my parents passed . We would sibg and i would play guitar . I so wish i could have one day with them again . They both passed and i never got to say goodbye . Id given up hope of jesus and heaven . My dad did when my mum passed . But isnt that what the devil wants us to do ? Thankyou Doyle for a few muntes of joy . You restore my faith everytime . I believe god makes angles in every form . You are one . From one musician to another god bless you my friend
❤Easter Song❤ A Celebration!🎸🎶 Such Joy. Victory over sin, death, and hell. Pray up, pack up, look up. He is coming... Thank you. Doyle. To Him be the Glory.
Another awesome service this morning. Doyle, Please say a prayer for my brother Franklin Charles today. He is back in the hospital. Please ask God to let him get well and live a few more years, He is the only brother I have and he is a truly good person. Please ask God to allow him to live a few more years. Thank you so much, God bless you and your family and viewers on this great day, Thank everyone for their prayers today.
I love those old hymns & you do such a great job on them. Great message today that makes salvation so easy to understand for the lost. Best show ever but I say that every week. Thank you for sharing with us .
Thank you, Doyle, what a wonderful way to start my Easter Sunday, hot cup of coffee and glazed donut while you play and sing spiritual songs. Keep this show going, (it is needed for so many of us) Gary 🙏🏼
Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday are the 2 most important events that happened in the history of man. Praise Jesus. When you look up Doyle Dykes in Wikipedia it says he is a devout Christian. I don’t think you can have a better compliment than that. Amen ❤️
When Doyle Dykes performed his arrangement of GOD BLESS AMERICA on the Huckabee show, I thought "I have never heard a finer steel-string acoustic instrument." Just had the same experience right this minute. It's Easter Sunday (He is risen!) and not the time and place to dwell on the particulars of that "Olson." Suffice to say again, "What a sound!" Talk about making a joyful noise on six strings! P.S. In my reverie, I imagined the deep bass-baritone voice of Johnny Cash (unlike any other) doing justice to “a modern day Easter hymn,” introducing it as such, before a live faith-filled audience: “My good friend Chet Atkins introduced me to Doyle Dykes. Who wrote this song. And I'm honored to have Doyle, a great guitarist like Chet, with me, as we perform it for you now.” [Pick up at the 4:19 mark]
Thanks for playing "Were You There" and "He's Risen"...........Absolutely beautiful. Will go back and listen to it often..... Have a Blessed Easter.....Jack & Melva
Beautiful String-along Doyle. Thanks for bringing it to our home this Easter Sunday. Thank you for sharing your verbal ministry and musical ministry with us each week.
I love the Easter song. Made me weep. I cannot imagine how He felt, even knowing the ending, He still had to live the story. So I can have life in Him today and throughout eternity 🙏❤️
WOW! I heard influences of Chet Atkins and Dwayne Friend in your playing this morning, but more importantly, I hear and see the influence of Jesus in your words and your life. Thank you Jesus, and thank you Doyle.🙂❤️🎸
Happy Easter Doyle. Will be missing Chris’s unbelievable Easter dinner that she fixed every year plus just last Easter. Nice String Along. Enjoy your family!
It was great to meet you last NAMM show (we talked about Aspen and the new mic: AP-1B). I am in the middle of difficult times and I really appreciate this today. Thank you.
May the Lord give you what you need and more. As my 96-year-old mama says… “He’s a good God… I wouldn’t wanna live without Him “ Keep trusting in Him. He will never let you down. I’m in agreement for something good to happen for you this week.
Easter Song by Annie Herring is one of my favorites. We used your version as a prelude to our early outside Easter service this morning. Thank you for a truly amazing arrangement.
Thank you Mr. Dykes for the inspiration i receive from you every time i listen and watch you play..I really appreciate you. Watching you from a place far away, somewhere in West Africa, Ghana🇬🇭 .
Hi Doyle, for many years, I have suffered with chronic and debilitating self-doubt about my guitar playing, to the extent that I shy away from performing in public. I’m OK with performing rock and blues etc in public, but I love fingerstyle guitar and become very nervous when playing it in front of others; this goes back to when I performed a fingerstyle piece live many years ago and forgot the piece halfway through; it was embarrassing... humiliating would be a better word. It’s also a very exposed style where, if you make a mistake, everyone can hear it. Three weeks ago, a friend of mine called me and asked me to play with him at a 900 seat capacity theatre. He had seen me performing a cover of your arrangement of ‘Bye Bye Blues’ on RUclips and wanted me to play it for his show. His show was a chronological history of the electric guitar, starting in the ‘50s and working up to the present day. Until recently, I would have made an excuse that I was already committed elsewhere and would have politely declined. However, I have been watching your Sunday String-Alongs every week since you started them and I have found strength in your words of encouragement. I’ve been reciting to myself “Do what you do in 2022”, “Don’t be selfish, share your talents”, “Go out and make somebody smile today”, Philippians 4:13. Last night was the concert, I performed ‘Bye Bye Blues’ and received a big applause. At the end of the show, when the performers were introduced to the audience, I received the loudest applause. At the end of the show, I had some people come up to me and compliment me on my performance. I made some people smile! I don’t mention this to boast and I won’t let this go to my head, but it was affirmation that I must go out and play more and not allow my fear of failing keep me prisoner. Your Sunday String-Alongs must be a big commitment each week, but I wanted to let you know that they are making a difference around the world and they have certainly and will continue to help me. I now feel enthused and eager to go out and perform more fingerstyle guitar in public. Thank you, Doyle. You are my favourite guitarist and have been since I first saw you play in 2004 here in The UK at a Taylor Clinic. Happy Easter to you and your loved ones. Steve.
Man, I love that! Keep picking’em happy and giving credit to the Lord for the gift of music and even more for the resurrection we celebrate today! Keep it stirred up brother!
Happy Resurrection Season, my brother! You also brought a smile to my face, when you showed that trophy. I have one just like that when I won the elementary school talent show when I was in the fourth grade! LOL! Oh man, some great memories! Bless you brother!
Stop the presses. If you can only spare a few minutes, put the needle down at the 10:55 mark as Doyle does justice to his Kirk Sand guitar, whose maker died earlier this month. A medley that opens with WERE YOU THERE and blossoms into a 3/4 time masterpiece (whose title escapes me). The shading! The 'colors' and high speed melodic harmonics . . . words fail. Beyond Wow!
9:59 Doyle, I'm so glad you played those two songs on the KIrk Sand... Wonderful to hear Were You There such a soulful arrangement. And what a beautiful rendition of Annie Herring's Easter Song! Her and Buck's testimony is online in interview format it's quite something, they were there when CCM all began. and we were still in High School. ruclips.net/video/NmVioC9_s2A/видео.html It's really worth the time.
Thank you, Doyle, what a wonderful way to start my Easter Sunday, hot cup of coffee and glazed donut while you play and sing spiritual songs. Keep this show going, (it is needed for so many of us) Gary 🙏🏼
My Grandson received Christ this morning...Praise Jesus!!

The Easter Song is such a great piece. I’m so glad Keith Green was here, if for but a short time, to share his gift and that song. Thank you, Doyle.
Thank you, and I share your String-Along every Sunday. Praise the Lord.
