Virgil died today. He inspired me in a way. Whenever I have to go to some sort of meeting that I don't want to go to, I keep my mouth shut and keep a straight face and think of Virgil, hoping that my lack of words will make the meeting end faster.

PEWDEL PRIME Back then, as you and I know, Kayfabe was to be strictly protected and enforced at all times! Today, Kayfabe is pretty much dead and gone. When Kayfabe died, so did the mystique of wrestling. Now, wrestling (or, should I say, "Sports Entertainment"), is a joke, and it's a horrible joke at that! 4 wrestlers began the destruction of Kayfabe. Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, & Triple H. The curtain call at Madison Square Garden in 1996, where all 4 were in a steel cage, hugging & showing comraderie, is the incident that started the destruction of the house of cards known as Kayfabe. True wrestling is no more. I weep for the future of wrestling...oops! (I meant "Sports Entertainment")!!!

He signed up to do it. He knew the story line and that staying it ment his career. It was a hated role. But it made him rich. In other words. He had a price and he went for it.

This is why Arsenio should be in the WWE hall of fame. He was a wrestling fan and understood what was going on unlike practically all of the other host who invited wrestlers on their show. He almost made Virgil laugh and break character 6:24
It would open a can of worms with the steroid denial by Hogan which nearly broke the company. Having said that, yeah he should be in the hof.
I have never really been a fan of Arsenio, but I agree with you 100% here. He was great at bringing wrestlers onto his show, knowing what was going on with them and letting them show their personalities.

Arsenio has the best interviews with all of the WWF superstars back in the day. I remember taping all of them and watching over and over.
The 80's and 90's were lit. Plus the VHS cut ins/outs and the tracking were hilarious to see.
Virgil probably tried to get Robert Loggia and Arsenio to buy autographed pictures afterwards.

If the cartoon clip bleeding through the old VHS recording was planned, it was genius. As a kid I had a VHS tape dubbed over so many times there was an episode of Ninja turtles with the audio from Cops.
Nothing like watching Ninja turtles and then a piece of Dad's old porn popping through
Arsenio always seemed to have a lot of fun with the WWF guys. His interviews with them were always entertaining.
Virgil played it to the hilt. Even with the Ben Johnson joke Arsenio used. This was one of the best interviews.

*****, I would have loved seeing DiBiase defeating Warrior with some type of a surprise pin. He outsmarted Hit Man that way.
*****, boredom is the issue indeed. I no longer watch the program. Like many others, I prefer the older style as we see here on Arsenio's dynamite late-night show. Heels like Million were the best. I liked him much more than Hogan and Warrior and would have preferred seeing him defeating both for the belt.
*****, those heels earned a special place in wrestling history. Plus, I totally enjoyed seeing babyfaces who turned heel so wickedly. The Heartbreak Kid is one of many.
*****, at times there have been those heels who were so good at being bad that the fans just started loving them. When that happens, it's a good time to make them turn babyface. Demolition did so.
*****, it's all too true. That's why it seems too dull for me to keep watching it any longer. It's simply funner to watch these older matches here on youtube. I always enjoy the ones in which Hogan and Warrior get clobbered too easily by Taker. Now, if only they'd been tombstoned and pinned left and right, but their egos wouldn't let them ever do clean jobs like that.

That's cool you got to meet him recently...I met him at a Legends Of The Ring event in 2014, & I met him when I was a kid...backstage @ the Springfield Civic Center in Massachusetts where I'm from. It was 1989, they were there for a Saturday Nights Main Event taping, & Wrestling Challenge! That's back when kayfabe was still strong, especially with Virgil, he was miserable! Lol...

@RockMeAmadeus Yeah, just like a movie. I know Tom Cruise is not actually in any danger, but I still suspend disbelief and forget it's fake when I'm watching a movie. Can't do that anymore with wrestling.
Back in the day, after a match, we were at a night club and my roommate and I went to a Denny's for breakfast with Jake the Snake Roberts and Ted DiBiase in Madison, Wisconsin. True story!

I had the pleasure & privilege to meet the million dollar man & I told him he was one of my favorite wrestlers back When I was a kid omg he was such a very very nice man & I have his autograph he is a very very down to earth guy . I asked him why he never had gotten a title shot & he said well I was better a villain & I loved doing it & I even got to make my own title how many wrestlers from back then can say they did that & omg he did the laugh I was like 😭😭😭 the nostalgia . I told him thank you so much & god bless you may god be with you & he said witch touched me he shook my hand & he said may god be with you as well & god bless you I was thank you I remembered he was a godly man but I tell you he was just awesome to meet

This is a clip from a cassette video tape from back in the 80's as it got old some of the video in it would take a few seconds to reset and adjust it self until sound and picture went back to normal.
