I remember watching Passion for Angling when it first aired. As a boy catching gudgeon and bullheads from my local river (now co-opted by a so-called 'conservation' group who have prohibited all fishing and allowed it to fall into utter ruin) that series lit a fire in me which still hasn't gone out almost 30 years later. It defines everything I love and aspire to in angling. Thank you, Mr Miles. You created something truly magical.

There will never be a better serie that reflects the love of nature and just being on the waterside
there will never ever ever be a better fishing show on tele, i have the video, dvd and book, what hugh made is a master piece. i even brought the dvd from him and asked if he could sign it and chris which they did.a true gent not just hugh but everyone. thankyou every much.
Hugh is up there with the best of them. A very honest interview with quite possibly one the greatest angling film makers that has ever lived. A true genius that can never bettered nor replaced! Keep up the great work Hugh :-)
I’ve just watched Toms River again. It’s such a good record of the year and everything subtle that can be noticed if you open your eyes, what a pleasure it is to be by the Avon and watch the marvellous monsters there in.
