    I have a mate and he was Tactical Radar Operator on HMS Invincible during the Falklands War he didn't know if he was going to live or die!... HMS Invincible visited NZ in 1983.. I thought it was awesome!... thanks from NZ 👍🇳🇿

      The brave Argentinian pilots sank 7 Britshit pirate ships and badly wrecked more than 20 ships including HMS Invincible, The Britshit never had Legal rights to the Island Malvinas Argentine which they invaded in 1833 and expelled the Argentinian Legal Authorities, the British won the war Thanks to the help of the US, winning a war does not give rights.

      HMS Hermes, the bigger of the two Carriers that sailed for the Falklands in 1982 was sold to India in 1986 and became INS Viraat.

    Im not expert in all things military, but I think had this happened now, the UK would have been able to do this with a lot less men and hardware. A few surgical strikes on strategic locations and some discreet SAS raids, the islands would have been retaken in 48 hours, max.

      I think the Brits did it as a show of power, plus it's always hard to take over an island(history supports this). Watch some videos and you will see that argens were heavily armed and has huge numbers superiority, plus they had numerical advantage in no.of aircrafts and they happen to sank a lot of royal Navy vessels

      I had thought taking the Argentine bosses to a quiet field and tell them,watch this,call in a strike from a Polaris missile,not a loade one,then say to the junta,next one is ready to fly,target your capital,you can either evacuate your capital or get out of the Falklands,your choice,you have 2 days.Whats the point of paying billions for a deterrent. However,it was more political,won another 4 years,and in their eyes,its worth the lives.

      Probably quite wrong actually. Britain does not possess enough surface ships anymore.
      There were a lot of STUFT ships. ( Ships Taken Up From Trade.
      The RAF are/were next to useless at this kind of range.
      And the SAS performance in the conflict back in 1982 left a lot to be desired. Very mixed results from those guys.

    She more than probably did. All ships sailing in anger or training carries a complement of her usual weapons because at any moment they could be diverted into a situation where nuclear ordnance is authorised against a country other than the argies. You don't just in many cases 'choose a loadout' for a ship of war lol

      I believe Admiral Woodward was on HMS Glamorgan, off Gibraltar, when Invincible & Hermes left Portsmouth. He, with his flag, later transferred to Hermes.

    Este tema sobre el ataque al portaaviones HMS Invencible se hizo muy popular en las redes, por las cientos de entrevistas, documentales, disertaciones de los pilotos argentinos que vienen asegurando desde hace 40 años que le pegaron al portaaviones británico, algunas redes tienen hasta un millón de visitas, he visto que lo tratan uruguayos, peruanos, españoles, entre otros. Esas publicaciones atrajo a muchos británicos y lacayos de Gran Bretaña que aparecen solo para negar un ataque que nunca vieron, algunos aparecen con el cuento de que tienen un tío, otro un amigo, otro un abuelo que les dijeron que no fue atacado y bla, bla, bla, traen fuente que no prueban nada. No existe un documental británico, ni entrevistas donde los tripulantes del portaaviones HMS Invencible hayan relatado su experiencia en la guerra y negando el ataque de los pilotos argentinos, es la pieza fundamental del rompecabezas que falta para completar esta parte de la historia. Si la tripulación del portaaviones hace 40 años que están mudos, ni siquiera dan entrevistas, es porque algo malo les sucedieron a bordo aquel día del 30 de mayo de 1982.

      Dicen que la pintura del portaaviones se veia muy nueva cuando volvio a Inglaterra, no tenia rastros de oxido que deja la sal del mar luego de varias semanas en el oceano y que fue el ultimo navio en regresar. Quisieron ocultar los daños a toda costa.

A donde le hicieron semejante trabajo para dejarlo como nuevo? Cualquier medio serio que sepa de portaaviones se hubiera dado cuenta que algo raro le sucedió al HMS Invencible cuando desapareció en medio de la guerra ese 30 de mayo y aparece en septiembre muy lujoso, con pintura nueva y demás.

      ​@@victorgodoy5820the images of the day show it covered in rust, and soot, from the funnels. It resupplied on may 30, and was back in action by June 4th. Over the summer it performed maintenance on its turbines, which had been running at full since the start of April. No damage occured to HMS Invincible, nor HMS Hermes

      @@felswrath1551 sure.. marine infantry is part of the navy and fought outnumnered hardest battles like tumbledown only 30 marines against an entire regiment.. also navy aviation with super etendards and a4 launched from our carriers did a lot of damage and not to mention our development of the ITB putting out of action HMS Glamorgan with a land exocet and aermacci recon spoting the fleet and attacking with rockets amd Drawinng them in mid air.. Navy is not just about ships however you are also forgiving that a minor embarcation shot down a harrier a number of skirmishes were some ships played support duties
