    The CR reviewer doesn't like the buttons on the dash and console. They actually make this vehicle very easy to use without the distractions of a mouse controller as in other vehicles. The buttons (designed like their Panamera) are one of the reasons why I bought this vehicle. Once you drive it around for a day, everything becomes intuitive. My wife absolutely loves her 2012 Cayenne Turbo. Be sure to get one that has the blind spot monitors and cooled seats.

    FINALLY, a review where the person talks about everything....... including comfort, and not just how fast it goes. I've been trying to decide whether to buy the Cayenne or the VW Toureg. I can't believe how hard it is to get all the information. Sales reps all talk from the same text books and most reviewers only seem concerned with speed and handling. I'm so glad I came across this review.

    I bought one.
    It really is a cross between SUV and sports car
    So handling is awesome and sounds great!
    Remember sports car!
    The interior is top quality and easy to use, much easier /safer than a touch screen.
    It is reliable, much more so than the others. The only thing more reliable is a Lexus, a totally different vehicle with a different objective, but most reliable. Yes I own a RX, so we know.
    Cayenne is no Touareg, they share some basic parts, after that, it is a Porsche.

    You don't understand Porsche principles clearly. It's not a normal SUV but its a first sports car in that segment. That's why Tacometer at the center. They have kept it towards a sporty edge.

    I have a 2012 Cayenne and two things come to mind in this video: the buttons are logical, once you get used to it; and the speedometer is also easy once you've driven the car for a while. My only complaint is the folding rear seats do not fold level with the cargo area, which can be worked around but is still inconvenient.

  • @JDMHaze
    @JDMHaze 7 лет назад +7

    he complains about the fact the RPM is in the center wow the speedometer is on the side but then brings up the fact there is a digital mph display in the RPM cluster, so what was your point and even bringing up the speedometer when they gave you a digital display in the rpm gauge for that specific reason

    The diesel is the model to get. Small premium over the petrol v6, but tons of torque and fantastic mpg for a heavy SUV. The diesel is so good that the V8s are really overkill.

    He never said exactly what year Cayenne he was talkin about?! He only said "this version"... how can you have a professional review video without mentioning the specific years involved?

  • @Aspireonthego

    @yzoooon Glitters? look at near the end of the video where the trunk is closing and the sun is shining on the car, you can see lots of swirl marks/scratches.

    "ONE of the best handling SUVs... average breaking distance for an SUV.... confusing controls layout..."
    Terrible review! You really need to drive one of these cars to appreciate just how great they are- no other SUV compares to the performance of the Cayenne. The one and only bad point is that they are quite sensitive to bumps. If you want a big soft car that can't handle so well then get a Range Rover, I prefer to be able to drive quickly if I choose to though.

    @NadrianATRS It's not something new, I believe Lexus started offering 8 speed automatic a year or two ago, also, Audi and BMW has 8 speed automatics in their latest models

    very nice launch and nice car. i got porsche cayenne turbo 2012 3 weeks ago from autohaus wulfingkroth gmbh german company with 7200 km on it, they shipped it to me in Geneva Switzerland equipped with winter tires at my request. it is really a very very nice and hot car. but i have a question on rainy weather slips. I have pirelli snow and ice tires on it. what tire pressure i must have on it? i asked Porsche dealer here in Geneva and they told me it's normal to slide on rain because of power

    Im sorry, did you say not for rugged off roading?? Please, do the research before you do these videos. Take a look at the test done by Top Gear and other test videos. It is made to go off road and it will go off road.

    This type of review is typical of Consumer Reports who have always had a bias toward the bottom end of vehicles, usually lauding their economy and ignoring the overall cheapness.
    After all is said and done however they have far more credibility than anyone else in the business. They accept no advertising and are a genuine nonprofit institution. Their testing facilities and resources are second to none. Does anyone remember the times they have labeled various vehicles as unacceptable?

    I want a real review like that Canadian Porsche Mechanic he said he wouldn't touch a cayenne with a ten foot pole it was badly made and was very unreliable and was urber expensive to run now that s what I call a true ful description of the cayenne so guy's look out this video and you will be astonished at what actually goes wrong with this overpriced junker of a vehicle i wouldn't buy one with your money never mind my own, i wouldn't walk away I'd run like hell, unless you want stroked you would do the same ,this vehicle has the power to bankrupt you and it will if you buy one s

    I just don't get the "quality" comment on this SUV?! I have looked at these and the material quality is no better than SUV's costing half as much. The button and switches were of very cheap quality to me. Pop the engine and its full of plastic components. Also, has anyone seen the track record on Porsche engines lately? The last Cayenne has a history of scored cylinders (require engine replacement), broken cooling pipes (cheap plastic but later revised to metal), and issues with the transmission (valve body). Granted some of these were taking care of with later models but I have seen reports of the 08-09's now showing signs of "scored cylinders". Combine these engine problems from the Cayenne with issues with the 911, boxster, and cayman (RMS, IMS) and these cars don't exactly inspire confidence in longevity. Are buyers really that naive?

    • @lovemachine2000
      @lovemachine2000 10 лет назад +2

      You don't get the "quality" comment? You should sit in a Porsche before you talk then. I own a Cayenne base model. I cross shopped against Mercedes, BMW, and Audi, and Porsche's cabin quality is noticeably better than the others. And Porsche having a bad reputation? Please... That's when we all know you are a troll.

      lol yep i'm a troll.. roll eyes. Never mind me Porsche builds great real main seals, intermediate shafts, and scored cylinders are a myth. lol ignorance really is bliss!

    V6 is a total dog. The base model offers a lovely casual stroll to the grocery store, but don't expect anything resembling performance.

    It’s stupid taking a cayenne on a track it’s not designed for that, it’s meant for long distance cruising and basic off-roading.

    Well I guess the review confirms CR's position as a whining liberal PITA organization with innuendo and "suggestions of improper behavior" (Porsche's "former" racing days) ruling the review. I thought I might be reading or watching the Washington Post or NYT Newspapers for cryin out loud. This is exactly why I dropped CR after my subscription expired.

      Frederick Rothe III If you owned a Cayenne you would know how inaccurate your comment is. Just look at the specs and reviews on both. Looks at sales volumes. That speaks volumes....

    • @frothe42
      @frothe42 7 лет назад

      davemaribel Just look at people spending $600,000 on a $40,000 home. Your comment speaks volumes. And most components are shared with VW/Audi. Engines may be tuned by Porsche, but still are VW, its corporate parent.

    • @sunsetrider45
      @sunsetrider45 6 лет назад +2

      That's not correct. The V6 and the Diesel are made by VW, everything above that is Porsche. I have the S and it is probably the best car I have ever driven given how balanced it is (and I do occasionally drive much more expensive cars for weeks at a time). You can drive it really hard around corners in the mountains, much more than the vast majority of cars, much less SUV's.
