@09NitroX5 The blue Tanker is gone, 62 is out of service getting new brakes. 8536 is also a tanker since it carries 1600 gallons of water as well, it is more of a pumper tanker.
@chief66caclco Also, the hard suction was broken so they were trying to fix it. I know you are not trying to "slam" us as you say, but, no fire is perfect like I said. I don't care if anybody critiques our calls which is one reason these are on here, for training. However, when you start picking at small things that would not make any difference in the outcome of the incident, then that is a slam. So, thanks for your concern and I will take it into consideration.
@lilreb601 All Volunteer and no payment at all. We are a county and city department, we cover both. It acutally cost our members to volunteer with gas used to go to the station and replace clothes damages under turnout gear etc.
yeah, wasn't to bad when you first got there, but twards the end it just took off, i know how it is when its a rural area, i heard the first truck ariving and when you asked how many he said just him, my heart sank alittle watching the fire, it sucks being in a rural area
I'm sure turn around time 4 a tanker shuttle was forever. I'm not a career guy, was a volunteer in the 70's & 80's. Was told by a full timer to loose the v or don't comment, Helmet is off 2 u guys LittleBlitz 85 LZVFD Now it's full time
Having the Command vehicle respond to the scene can do a lot unlike what you say. The command vehicles are smaller vehicles that require less fuel and are less dangerous than the bigger apparatus that would be responding. While Volunteers are responding to the station the Chief can get there and set up command and decide what needs to respond and what does not need to. That way you don't have 500 apparatus responding when not needed, or they can ask for more people to respond.
Also, just because there is a command vehicle responding does not mean an apparatus is not responding already. Command vehicles can respond to many things and not even need a fire apparatus to respond. For example, medical calls, illegal or unattended burns that can be put out by the homeowner, traffic control, etc.
Hope people see the importance of firefighters and having the right equipment at the right time. When your station was destroyed by that tornado the people of that town that state should have pulled their money together to build you a new one to have fire trucks on standby at all times which at one time you did until the s*** hit the fan. Thank you for your service first responders I hope you all get those trucks and that new station that you so richly deserve.
Bro as a career guy from a urban northeast dept., I feel for u guys situation, I thought 15 man shifts was manpower deficient until I saw this vid. Much respect to u and ur boys down there stay safe......
Everbody has an opinion. We post these on here for training and education. Never said we were the best at anything but we do the best with what we have. Some of the comments people make are funny.
Ah, so as a volunteer they are allowed to put emergency lights in there normal car dash and race to the station? Or do they still have to go by traffic laws
No, they must obey the laws. They do not respond to the scene unless they have to, 95% of the time they are just going to whatever Station they are assigned to.
Jason just curious, does your department have the big blue tanker anymore? It isn't listed on the apparatus page. You said in your transmission that you had one but 62 was out of service?
Jason, in Milton..is that a county or city fire service? AND are yall paid or volunteer. More to follow. Nothing bad. watching ur videos over the years, i think we are in the same boat as far as response times and manpower.
@chief66caclco There is no fire that everything goes right. I could look at any fire no matter where it is from and I could find things that could be done different than what the person did. This fire is no different, but, the goal was completed at the end which was to put the fire out. As far as the 4 guys on the dump tank it did not matter to me, I had plenty of manpower to cover what I was doing. Too many people can cuase confusion and harm.
Oh... Alright. Thanks for putting up with my questions. :) You are the fire fighter in this video arent you? I thank you for your service, and every other firefighter who puts there lives on the line in order to save ours. THANK YOU! STAY SAFE!
Jason, Great videos. I want to thank you for: 1 a clear and still video while in route, 2 leaving the camera running while on scene. I also like hearing the radio chatter. Keep up the great work. Be Safe
I don't agree with pov response to a scene even if you are a chief. Looks bad you can't do anything? Why not get a truck on the road?? Should be first priority.
In Kentucky as a Firefighter, if you are responding to a call you are required to use lights and sirens. They can go faster than normal traffic and run red lights and such just like law enforcement. So to answer your question, no, it is so he can get to the station quicker to get the truck,.
another video of a fully involved structure with a perfectly good vehicle parked close enough to be destroyed. Why not drag the truck away and save what you can for the property owner?
wow a lot of negative comments on this post.... some people just cant help but be keyboard firefighters who know everything when they don't know anything about the way Jason runs his stations or his crews
It says you cover 150 sq miles.Bull crap i know that area and in a 150 sq miles, you would cover from north of madison, east to milwaukee, south to rockford.Ya the chief is full of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First hope there was no one in the house and second I love how the guy in the blue coat at first he was blocking the fire when he was taking photo of it and then he know that there was a camera in the car so he tried to be on it and knew he was on it.

nice work with the tornado in milton
@CI321 Yes, was a very fast fire. Almost like a mobile home. This house was very old.
@chief66caclco Also, the hard suction was broken so they were trying to fix it. I know you are not trying to "slam" us as you say, but, no fire is perfect like I said. Too bad those county ambulance guys werent cross trained firefighters, could have had an engine company there quick, good job as usual!
I'm sure turn around time 4 a tanker shuttle was forever. I'm not a career guy, was a volunteer in the 70's & 80's. Was told by a full timer to loose the v or don't comment, Helmet is off 2 u guys
LittleBlitz 85 LZVFD Now it's full time
Yep, probably heading to the station.
Exactly.

@LynchburgFD2020 Right next to that spot, my camera is actually pointed at the replacement trailer.

@MrEmt19 I agree but nobody wants to pay for services.
Kentucky
@JASON8502 Thanks for the reply Chief!
did the fire co. ever make it thare? im sure it was to the ground by the time first engine arrived
ya i noticed that too, weird....
how fast do you think you were going? it seemed much faster than normal...was that because it was believed someone could have been inside?
Thanks, it isn't easy at times. Especially with little manpower and 150 or more square miles.
Yes, EMS and another Fire Department are on the same channel. I haven't played it back but my radio could have been on scan though.
No, they must obey the laws. They do not respond to the scene unless they have to, 95% of the time they are just going to whatever Station they are assigned to.
At 1:54 what was that red van doing? It had emergency lights in the dash. Was he heading somewhere else? It was kinda strange.
Robbie the EMT that you see in the video can't do anything but make sure no one gets hurts and everyone is safe...
@pug95man To Station # 1 to ride the truck
hey jason,
is this video before the tornado hit milton?
Yes
@gopherfan92 I was doing about 75, I was going faster since they said they were not sure if somebody was home or not.
Jason just curious, does your department have the big blue tanker anymore? It isn't listed on the apparatus page. You said in your transmission that you had one but 62 was out of service?
@trainfans Getting brakes
Nobody was home
Jason, in Milton..is that a county or city fire service? AND are yall paid or volunteer. More to follow. Nothing bad. watching ur videos over the years, i think we are in the same boat as far as response times and manpower.
Did you mean 2011? 11-21-2012 is not here yet.
Those are EMT's not Firemen.
around 1:52 that van with the flashing side bar where was he going? different call?
Hats off to you guys. stay safe.
flash over begins

that red van @ 1:58 . is that responding to another call or what?
good job getting that additional tanker moving early, Chief! Too bad it took off so fast, but good job by your guys as usual. Stay safe.
What's the point of showing up on the scene if no one's bringing a truck???
So the dashboard light on his van is literally just to look cool or something? haha. what is the point of the dash lights then?
did any body get hurt killed or die in the fire at all i had a house fire myself in 2009
Hot dogs, marshmallows, maybe a full pig on a spit… since there aren't any hoses in play...
so is this run 20?
thanks for the reply jason was just wondering if it got confusing when you were giving directions to your crew stay safe
i hope the person of the house seen what happen
That was a Volunteer Firefighter going to Station # 1
Oh... Alright. Thanks for putting up with my questions. :) You are the fire fighter in this video arent you? I thank you for your service, and every other firefighter who puts there lives on the line in order to save ours. THANK YOU! STAY SAFE!
Jason,
Great videos. I want to thank you for: 1 a clear and still video while in route, 2 leaving the camera running while on scene.
I also like hearing the radio chatter. Keep up the great work. Be Safe
Yes, nobody was home at the time of the fire.
what brand radio do you use
Kenwood radios. TK2160 and TK760's
Why was your tanker out of service may I ask? Good videos otherwise:0)
Pardon me but I have to ask which counties responded to the call with their trucks?
Trimble and Carroll Counties responded to this call
Thanks.
it got bad tward the end. it just took off
😀
Wow! This was located right behind the trailer that burned in your 2010 video! I see the trailer has been replaced.
Bad one there, Jason. Handled as well as could be though. Stay safe!
And what do you have in your truck? Or are you just another armchair firefighter?
hey chief do you share your dispatch channel with other departments thought i heard a call in there for ems
I don't agree with pov response to a scene even if you are a chief. Looks bad you can't do anything? Why not get a truck on the road?? Should be first priority.
WOW, I know the fire dept. was far away, do they have permanent, or just vol. This was a shame, the house was a total loss.
We are completely voluntary department
"Plamyra"? you means Palmyra?
In Kentucky as a Firefighter, if you are responding to a call you are required to use lights and sirens. They can go faster than normal traffic and run red lights and such just like law enforcement. So to answer your question, no, it is so he can get to the station quicker to get the truck,.

Yes, you are right. We stand corrected. Trimble County is actually 156 square miles. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trimble_County,_Kentucky
First hope there was no one in the house and second I love how the guy in the blue coat at first he was blocking the fire when he was taking photo of it and then he know that there was a camera in the car so he tried to be on it and knew he was on it.
