    That is an affiliate link so if anything is purchased from visiting that link, I get a small percentage of the sale at no additional cost to you to help out the channel. I tried getting a coupon code for you guys but it did not happen yet.

      Thanks Dirk, I am glad you enjoyed it. The drag brake test was a complete spur of the moment thing but it was cool to see. It is a terrific looking truck and with a little weight down low and some grippy tires I think it will do very well! It also has a big scratch in it now so I can beat on it a little harder next time! Love the colour combination! And the drag brake is pretty amazing for something that small as an RTR. Cool find! It’s very capable in your living room setup and I love how slow it can go for crawling. When you were outside I had to laugh. When it got stuck and you’re trying to steer left and right to get it unstuck and the turn signals were going crazy I pictured the guy driving it in a panic to make sure people behind him knew what direction he was going lol

    • @AddamsPlayground
      @AddamsPlayground  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks Freddy! It is a cool truck and it looks great. The drag brake works really well and overall the truck did very well. The tires hold it back a little outdoors due to them having such an accurate scale tread pattern they struggle to get grip occasionally. On the indoor course it had no issues and is a lot of fun. Thankfully I did not notice the turn signals too much when driving but yeah, they can be a little much! The panicked driver idea is a funny one, glad you got a giggle out of it!! LOL! Take care and have a great week!

      It is a real looker for sure!! With some grippier tires and some weight down low it should perform really well. The stock tires look awesome and Buff Goodricher name is hilarious but the tread is a little too scale accurate and they slip and slide a little too much for some climbs. It'll be back for some action with some upgrades. Take care Fil!

    Hey Addam! Always Nice to get stuff in that you didn't have to pay for! what a treat for you!
    I really love what FMS has been bringing us lately! So Many cool features on this like that deep realistic looking Bed, and the battery under the hood compartment. I love the hi/lo beam headlights, but why can't they address our dislike for turn signals, or at the very least put them on a separate channel? They just don't seem to listen! Maybe they don't even watch these videos or just blatantly ignore their reviewers who they send these to' feedback. I'm not a Chevy Truck fan myself, but like you can't argue with an old square body. It looks fantastic!
    I do wish this came with smaller 1' wheels as these that are on it are not scale to an old Chevy Square body of its era and I'm just not a fan of large diameter wheels especially on vintage cars and trucks. Other than that I really like it. Seems large on my screen anyway, for a 1/18 scale rig. Not sure how it measures up next to like sized rigs? it looked very capable and just awesome in the area you have outside for crawlers and trail trucks! Really good and relaxing review and run test Addam. I would buy one at $140-ish but, $180 seems high for a 1/18.
    I will definitely have to watch for sales. Would love to see a late 70's ford version or an 80's power wagon or ram charger. Why make just bowtie people Happy? Great job Dude!

    • @AddamsPlayground
      @AddamsPlayground  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Robby! It is pretty neat FMS reached out and sent this and the Blazer over to me. I really love the way both of these trucks look, and both perform really well for their size. The headlights are awesome and I wish they would re-program the controller to disable the turn signals instead of the 4 way option, that would be super cool, everyone would be happy! I am not sure why they don't seem to want to change it, probably much like Tamiya ignoring the request of the masses for re-releases of certain kits! I did put the 1.0 wheels on it and they look a little small but fitting for the era. I had rubbing issues with them so I had to get some 1.3 wheels and tires. The tires are a bit bigger than stock so the wheels don't look out of place. I do get what you are saying for the stock one though, not really period correct with the very common 15 inch wheels from back then! You are not the only one to mention the price, I tried getting a discount code but it has not worked out yet. I am sure they are going to make more body styles on this platform in the future. For some reason it seems Ford is more difficult or expensive to work with for things like this and that seems to be why there are so many more Chevy and Toyota based trucks on the market. That is my assumption from things I have heard from folks in the industry. The Smasher has the ford body on it but I did not see them listed on their site still, parts are there but the trucks were not for some reason. I do enjoy the little crawler course out there and the indoor woks well with these but it is more fun in person than on video I am sure. Thanks as always for the support and you taking the time to watch the videos Robby, Have a great rest of your week buddy.

      Yeah I have seen what you are talking about wit the bigger one, something is off with the scale of the body. The little one I have only run with the cap on the back, it is just what makes the blazer a blazer! Yes, it is a great looking truck and with some small scale accessories it will look even better! Not much needed to know about them really, just run them wherever and feed that little kid need to drive over anything and everything you think it possibly can! That is all I do LOL!!
      I tried to pick some more subdued music for this one as it was all nice easy going video, no frantic ripping around in the yard!
      The 1/18 scale crawlers I like a lot. The 1/24 are cool but the 18th ones just have bit more size and weight to them. I do have to say the 1/24 Blazer was quite the little beast so I cannot discount it's performance for its size!
      The adjustable drag brake is a nice feature and I would like to see others do something similar on their RTR trucks.
      I am glad you enjoyed the review and run of it, I had a great time out there with it! Take care you guys and enjoy the rest of your week!

      I love my little indoor crawler course. It has been liken to a big pile of elephant poo or a giant hair ball but it works great. I am thinking about building another to connect to it. The turn signals are pointless and distracting. I know some folks like them but I am not one of them. I really wish they could reprogram the 4 ways into a turn signal lock out, then everyone would be happy!

      Thanks Jeremy, I am glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate the kind words! It is a fantastic looking truck, I wish I could get a paint job that shiny and perfect! It ran really well also, the tires were the only thing holding it back really. The tread is a bit too close so on the dirt and some rocks it struggled to get grip. That is an easy enough fix and for these small on it is a fairly inexpensive upgrade. For the most part I did not notice the turn signals outside, indoors they were annoying though. If they could re-program the light controller to disable them instead of the 4-ways that would be perfect!

    This is an excellent review. I enjoyed it. The truck looks great and FMS always does a great job with the scale vehicles. It performed well and the hood opening to access the battery is great. I am like you I hate to get great looking bodies dinged up. I saw a guy on Facebook this morning who had aTRX4M with what appeared to be an old Dodge truck body panted to give it a rusted look. I don't know how makes it. It would be great for 1/18 crawlers. The more dings it gets the more authentic it looks. I like all the FMS stuff. My only criticism is the price. I would suggest to them to lower the price to be equal the TRX4M in price. Hobbyists who want a sale looking truck won't care. Keep up the good work.

    • @AddamsPlayground
      @AddamsPlayground  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it! They nailed it with the super scale looks and it did hurt a little bit scraping the roof like I did. If it were on the side it would not have been such a big deal but the roof is not normally where dings and scrapes happen! The good thing is I can run it much harder now without worries! More than likely what they had was a 3D printed body or a static model body on it. since the Doge trucks are not as common I assume it was probably a static model body. I have seen several various models put to use on the tiny trucks.
      I was trying to get a discount code for you all to use but that has not worked out yet. If it does then I will definitely share it with you all to save you a few bucks if possible!

      Yeah, the looks are top notch and it performs pretty well too. The stock tires hold it back a little, not enough tread spacing to get a grip on the dirt. On the grippy stuff like rocks it does better but any damp dirt it struggled with. Easy enough thing to swap some new tires on it and in this scale they are much more affordable! Glad you enjoyed it Pete!

    Hi Addam, a really great looking, detailed and finished truck. I’ve been eyeing up the FMS, Axial and Traxxas mini models for some time, so difficult to choose, but in terms of details, I think the FMS has the edge (my opinion of course😂) notice testing on your indoor mound (won’t say what it looks like ) went well. Outdoors still very capable indeed, looks so so scale for a small scale truck. I was so looking forward to a turn signals rant 😂😂😂😊😊 bless you my friend. 😊😊very best to you and the family 😎😉😎

      Hi John! It is a cool little truck and it ran pretty well. I tested it the other night with the new wheels an tires and it preformed a lot better, much more grip and stability. Sadly lot of tire rub so I am going to have to figure that out, either smaller tires or some trimming! All the brands have their pros and cons. The TRX4M look great but I loathe the proprietary battery. The Axial scx24 I like but it does not perform as good outdoor as the others, the FCX24 performed so much better outdoors. The FMS trucks look great and performed well but there is not quite as much aftermarket support for them. All of them need weight down low and better tires to perform much better. I found some Injora 1.0 brass bead locks and new tires usually increases the performance a ton with little investment. The FCX18 you have to do some tinkering to get them to work though, 1.3s work better for it. You would have fun with any of them! If you are not terribly concerned with the scale looks the Ascent18 is a super awesome truck and boy it worked super well right out of the box! The only one that can tackle the big rocks out there!

      @@canuckchuck8836 I thought about adding some scenery moss or something to it but figured it was just going to get torn up. I left it all "stone" to make life easier and to not limit the lines I can choose to try. Your idea sounds cool for display but I just shove mine under our bed! 😂

      It is a beautiful truck and ran pretty well, some new tires and I am sure it will do much better. Thanks for watching!

    i dunno, 180 for an RTR 1/18...a bit steep IMO, wish it was a kit. I mean 95% of the hobby for me is the tinkering. Take that away and im just not that interested.

      I get it. It is also kind of genre specific as well like the Tamiya stuff is. There are a lot of crawlers and bashers that view those kits as toys that are too delicate to drive. I like the occasional RTR but like you mainly enjoy the building. I do get burnt out on painting and some of the tedious stuff so a pre built and finished kit is a nice treat from time to time. I tried to get a discount code but it has not worked out yet. I was hoping to save you all a few bucks off of them! Maybe in the future. Thanks for checking it out and taking the time to comment, it's always appreciated!! Have a great week

    Look dude, don’t say how good things are when you’ve been given it. I know you want more freebies in the future but you’ve got to be honest or you lose your integrity. Integrity that you’ve let someone buy for what,

      Read into it for what you think is reality. I am never going to give something a better opinion of something because I was given it. Yes I don't have money invested.into buying it but I am not "selling out" for a free truck. I do like the truck, it was fun to drive. It looks fantastic and I stick by that. If you don't like it then don't get one. If you don't like me for doing reviews then I can't help that and you can find much other free content to watch. I regret nothing and will not regret anything from doing these videos. Enjoy your judgmental day...
