People argue and debate the relevance of the great war, the motivations and the bloody sacrifice of millions of young men, our Aussie heroes willing to die for king and country, for the empire. I think the simplest answer is they fought and died for our freedom, democracy and our way of life, anyone who challenges that is most certianly a fool. God Bless them all. Lest we forget.

It is widely believed that the ANZACS fought only in Crete in WWII Greece but the truth is that they fought many battles all over the country. The Greek people have great respect for them.

Australia has a small population, New Zealand even smaller. But I doubt any ANZAC veteran feels in the least inferior because of that! I have also never met an ANZAC Gallipoli veteran who disrespected the sacrifice the Turks made defending their homeland. They were just as indomitable in that task as ANZACS would be.
not to forget the british who were sittinng,watching from a safe position while our men were being slaughtered... The videos ive seen at school were horrible
No my friend you were not insulting anybody. Far from it. We were just debating what they died for. When I meant nothing it means the Anzac deaths achieved nothing in Gelibolu & WW1 in general. At least the Turkish dead died defending Turkey. What can we say? Our troops died invading ur country? you are probally right Turkey & NZ should have in 20-20 hindsight stayed out of it but our colonial masters wouldnt let us. Why do we say Gallipoli and you say Gelibolu? Anyway peace be unto U friend.
