This is a great course! I’ve been planning to do a series of micro projects. I help in local indie scene, but it seems art direction is practically ignored! I never did it but I know color theory and am comfortable with design. Props and costuming(especially) is new to me but I know it is often overlooked but adds so much. Very helpful class! Thanks
Thanks for the feedback and so glad you found it useful, there was a lot to cover as the department is so vast. This is SJ, btw. I too started by helping out on indie film sets and was self taught. Some further advice, don't let people take advantage of you in the indie film scene. Like you said, art department is often overlooked and undervalued, so the team usually has to fight for a costume fitting day or a directors attention to get an answer about a minute detail. and I agree, art department adds so much. It's not always like this, but people don't realize all the small parts that make up the art department machine. When its also low budget indies its one person is doing each role within the hierarchy, it's overwhelming. Anyway, I am glad that you found this course.
