This is beautiful, thank you for sharing. I believe all three philosophies are very valuable and would like my house to give off that vibe. That being said, I do not plan on homeschooling my daughter, but do believe that having access to beautiful books (partly at the public library!), to works of art and music and to adequate games and playthings in the house adds to a childs development. As does having a particular rhythm. I was not homeschooled, but we went to musea a lot and I spend entire days at the library learning about what had my particular interest. So I do hope to be able to do that as well with my kid :)
Thank you so much for your comment. I firmly believe that not everyone needs to homeschool - every family is so different. It sounds like you are giving your daughter a wonderful childhood! I also went to museums and the library a lot as a child - I wasn't homeschooled myself - and my father especially liked to take us on field trips that made history come alive. I think it gave me a love of learning and of beautiful things that has served me well.
Thanks for watching! For Ancient Egypt, I used Story of the World Volume 1 as a spine, and created my own unit study to expand on it. If you want to know more, I share all the resources in this video: ruclips.net/video/VVvUFKtcxzI/видео.html
Unfortunately, I don't remember the brand of the sketchbooks... but they do not hold up well to watercolor. We use and I like the Canson mixed media books for our nature journals and they do hold up well with watercolor.
Hi Nicolle, I don't actually remember where I got the sling bookshelf as I have had it since my oldest was a baby. The Montessori rugs I purchased from Montessori Services: www.montessoriservices.com/preparing-the-environment/rugs-mats?q=rug&nsearch=mer_redirect And the day of the week gnomes I actually made. :)
Oh, mine often looks much messier than this! I made them pick everything up for the video and I do when we have visitors as well. Actually, we are fortunate enough to have a playroom and most of the toys are stored there and in the kids individual rooms. We have a few toys that are stored in our library, but I like to keep the living area mostly clean so that I can focus on school (I get a little crazy when I am trying to function in a huge mess!) I hope that helps. I realize that not everyone has the space we do!

Curious as to what specific sling bookshelf you have and where you found your Montessori rugs and days of the week gnomes. :)

How do you put away or hide all of their toys when company comes over? My living room looks a mess with toys everywhere.
