What do people expect? I mean, it's Microsoft. We live in an age of stock buy-backs and ruthless profiteering. Why would video games be somehow immune to this reality? I personally get more up in arms over the $7 head of lettuce at the grocery store. If they're going to continue to develop the game then expect to pay for those developments. They've obviously listened to the community with a lot of these updates, and I'm happy with the game where it is. I'm going to wait for the creation kit to percolate in the community before spending some cash on mods. I think 'gamers' have become way to easily triggered and way too self-entitled. Not liking something always results in a big fat dirty diaper or a stroke.

Waiting a few more years for something can save you a ton of money. Sales events can save you up to 90%. Nobody wants to pay $1244.20 for SIMS 4 when they can buy the whole thing after SIMS 5 comes out for $300 or on sale six months later for $150.

i almost didnt like this game because i like space sims. its the fps content that is so good in this game. taking over ships is exciting. the only thing i want changed is when you reach a high level and have op weapons there should be more enemies. or more bosses. the game should get hard and stay hard. i should feel like im about to die at any moment. thats the reason i would create a new character in skyrim so often, and now im concerned for this game too.

There are 2 missions to the alliance. YOU have to pick them both but game has you do the chop shop 1st, come back do the other. Also the mission board where the robot is already has 3 additional missions. Starfield is also what I consider a blank canvas for what your want7ng from them and for modders. It was never meant to be like their other games. As soon as you can get oast that, actually immerse yourself in the game and get out of your head your prior expectations of what it would be out of your head, I think you will actually enjoy it. They have not only been working on this game for yrs, but have also had to reimplement emerging technology and basic programs used to create it. It's massive. But I do agree with fir every update , there should be more content on planets with Different floor plans and some more weird stuff. It is space after all. Price, honestly, if your going to keep rolling out missions, they should be more like 5 bucks and more frequently. No excuse really with creations now launched to not be able to do that. If Bethesda can't, get some different creative minds fir story lines that keep w8th the space theme that DO NOT reflect on work etc from other games anywhere. Be creative! There is no reason a modder should have to give their work away for free. Fact is, some do, their choice! No one at Bethesda is blocking them from creations site

Honestly, I don't care. This is not my first BGS game. We got the CK and now I'm happy checking out community mods. There are literally hundreds of them being updated and created since the update and I'm spending most of my gaming time checking things out and testing them. Lots of mods addressing late-game difficulty, adding new high-level ship modules, weather and lighting mods, weapon skins, new armor and clothing, new weapons THERE IS A MOD THAT ADDS MECH BOSSES ALREADY!
So yeah.. I can ignore the paid stuff. I always have. I will pick up the Argos one with my 1000 Deluxe credits maybe. I'm honestly waiting for Elianora to drop her Constellation habs set and I might buy that. But overall, I will stick with the free stuff. My game already has 80+ mods and I haven't spent an extra dime.
EDIT: Also funny thing to me is how some of the people who are now angry at paid mods are the same people who sing the praises of Star Citizen. A game where you pay hundreds of dollars to buy ships that don't exist in the game lol

I am opposed to just about all micro-transactions, but Starfield is the one exception…because I know that talented content creators from our own gaming community are benefiting from the fees. Fans aren’t just forking cash over to a money-grubbing corporation (like Ubisoft,) but they are helping to support some of our own. This also allows us to have more of a voice, to be represented and have a say in the direction Starfield goes…because now the content isn’t just being created by Bethesda and their internal developers/writers.

I wish Bethesda would concentrate their efforts on fixing stuff that’s been broken since the initial release rather than fleecing us for cosmetics.
The outpost storage system is fundamentally flawed. Take an item out of/put an item into a storage bin chain by visiting an individual bin and the chain breaks. Transfer Containers should be a conduit into the storage system allowing unlimited transfers in and out between ship and outpost, not a limited storage bin. Fill the TC then you have to step back and exit the transfer screen to wait for the bin to clear before adding more. Leave the option to assign a direct input link to a specific container maybe so that the more anal out posters can arrange their storage by item type. Outposts could be a really fun part of the game but as the system works at the moment I’ve given up on them…

There's a couple of reasons why I won't pay for mods and Creations content, particularly mods.
A full DLC I don't mind paying for. However, where mods in particular concerned, there's no way to know if it's going to work properly until AFTER you've paid for it - and if it doesn't, there's no refund option that I can see anywhere.
As for "official" Creations content by Bethesda, if would really need to be substantial if they're expecting me to pay for it - but skins, tiny missions, and the like, they can f-off.
I already paid £60+ for the game, they can shove microtransactions up their ass.
So, I'm sticking with the free mods/Creations, thanks.

BGS first launched paid mods on Steam, years ago. The mod maker got 30% and Valve / BGS split the rest of the profit. This new system just cuts Valve out and I bet BGS is taking 50% of the profit from the mods for doing nothing.
If Bethesda needs to hire contract "Creators" (devs) to make content for their empty game then BGS should just pay them. We bought the game ($100 USD) so I am not paying for content that should have been in the game I bought.
This is like if you order a pizza and it is $20, but it is actually just the crust. It cost as much as a pizza but if you want sauce that will be $5. Cheese is $8 and if you want a meat of veg that will be $10. I'll go have a burger. lol

If Bethsada will be providing support for the mods I can see a reason why they would need some of those funds.

So long as I don't NEED to buy anything more to continue to enjoy the game I'm OK with it.

But you build a 50 room house for $500k, foundations, walls, roof, plumbing, electricals and flooring all done plus say 8 windows representing the current quests and content.
Happy but now you want to add another tiny window and the builder tells you it will be $50k for the window.
I think one get’s slightly pissed at this disparity.
I don’t think they will get many fans for the disparity for minuscule content v the whole massive platform.

I have a couple of thoughts about those raging about the latest update:
    - How many are actual fans? And how many were just haters before, and now have some new content they can whine about? And probably don't even have Starfield installed
    - Would it be nice if creation club content was cheaper? Yes. Am I surprised that it it's high now? No. It's brand new. Anything new tends to be more expensive. Do I think the prices will decrease? Yes, either in general, or via sales. Do I think it's worth review bombing the game because of it? Hell no, it's 100% optional. Too pricey, don't buy it; I'm not.

I'm going to throw a game title n compare. Mass effect. One of 3 games and let's focus on the First one. 50$ at launch. Great game, story, content, replay ability, took about 50hrs to complete 1 time through the story and more perks and better outcomes for playing again. Major changes to the story depending how u played. Easily 200+ hours of fun. The we have starfield. 70$. OK game, story medicore on all aspects, replay ability just to see the changes in mast when u go through unity but no other changes. Words are mostly Barren and they take forever to travel through. I'd say about 50 hrs of actual content but 100hrs of jumping through space. I would call starfield half baked. Then they add pay walled content that you said yourself should have been in the game.... For another 10$ and adds minutes to actual game play. Renting a movie is 2$ and u get 2 hrs. And even compare to Bethesda own game skyrim which smaller. Way smaller. There just isn't a lot of Content comparably and skyrim only had a horse armor dlc which had no effect on the game and bad backlash.
I do like the game but I'm disappointed in the amount of game followed by the mandatory fee to play what should have been there to begin with and more fees to come.

And while we can't say you got the games for free because you paid for game pass get also say you got the game for free so paying a few dollars for mods isn't at big ask. Especially considering some of these mods are made by fans who should be paid for their work. If somebody so-called fans are mad at mod's costing money then go make your own and post it for free.

Well 7 Euro is too much for a single mission. But the real problem is, as usual nowadays, you can't buy 700 credits for 7 Euros. You must buy 1000 credits for 10 Euros, to then spend 700 credits for the product you want to buy for 7 Euros, and you have 300 credits leftover to spend on another product that you did not want to buy.
They want to sell you something for 7 but they force you to spend 10.
As long as we the consumers accept this and international law allows these companies to do this, , nothing will change.
This is common practice in all games and all gaming companies. It's not "evil greedy Bethesda". They do it because it works, people buy it. So, it's our fault, not theirs.

As a Bethesda fan, I couldn't care less. Not only is this far from new in their games, it's also a drop in the ocean compared to the mods available free. Bethesda should have made The Vulture free, but otherwise, storm in a teacup since there are only 3 total paid Bethesda mods. I'll be flicking credits and the royalties from those at mods by the likes of Elianora for instance *where they put a price on them*. If Bethesda games didn't have a healthy modding community, there would be no outrage over the 3 mods at a grand total of 2000 points from Bethesda, it would in fact be one of the least monetised games.

Wait… so people will pay $12 + $10 for a movie and popcorn/drink. For what a 2 hr movie. So that is $15 /hr. The vulture mission is $7 and lasts at least an hour if you don’t speed thru it (looks at DeanPro and his clicking like a rabid squirrel). As you said DeanPro…if the content is quality…$7 for an hour or more is well worth it.

this game isn't pay to win, if you want additional content you pay for it. the prices of that content in an inflated economy make sense to me. but at the same time i'm never buying 1 mission, that's absurd. however i will pay for a dlc, bethesda dlc's are typically worth the price. why are people still complaining about this. its not like bethesda is doing shady micro transactions with loot boxes. its not like they require you to have a 3rd party launcher and an account. i don't see what the big deal is, if you don't like it then don't participate in the paid content. its simple. why does everyone and their mother have to try to force their agenda on others, look at the steam discussions, its terrible. i don't play ea or ubisoft games anymore because of their shady practices. if you don't like it then boycott the game. i bet most of the people that complain still bought it.

I'm pretty neutral on microtransactions as that is just how games work now and it's pretty futile to try and fight that. I'll have to see how things are priced going forward, especially the official BGS creations. If it just feels like they are splitting up what could have been a $20 Trackers Alliance expansion into 8 $7 parts, then I'll probably be less inclined to pay for it. If the next installation has multiple missions, I might be more forgiving. I'm all for monetizing items and paying people for their time and giving people the options to only buy what they want, but if every new item to the game going forward is paywalled then I probably will only buy expansions, and maybe not even those.
