- I take a tour of the Brunei Night Market with local lady, Izzy. She shows me round the market sampling local delicacies for our dinner.
The Night Market (Gadong Pasar Malam) is open year round from 4pm-11pm and is located in the Gadong Fish Market parking lot.
This was Izzy's first time in front of a camera..what a star!

Mark, I really think you've nailed it with this one. I was fascinated by the context - really authentic, enchanted by Izzy of course, she's great, and I was drawn in instantly and held by the monlogue and the great, rugged, and quite good camera work, location audio also added much to the interest level. Aww.. I miss home after watching this. My home country definitely serves good food and cheap ones too! Izzy really can speak fluent English. Proud Bruneian! You should come during the Hari Raya Eid season (mid august this year) where you get to meet the King of Brunei and even visit from house to house. Great video btw!

Brunei, the best and the friendliest country in the WORLD! i miss brunei so much! :'/ Take my advice, when you're going to Gadong go there at sunset say about 5:45 less people there and at 6 or 7 it will be very crowd! If you're a late night person go there at 9:30. there still be some opens and some if them are closed. The Mall is the amazing place to go shopping! Movies and Acrade/Games centre (or something) are at the very top floor next to the food court!! So go and visit Brunei more often!
oh how i'm missing that place,the smell the smoke on pasar malam in gadong,i love brunei...i love kueh tiao,nasi goreng/katok,cendol,my god im drooling right now!:(

i think there is more food in gadong market like bbq lamb,coconut water and many more i guess

@Kontolisma Izzy is on couch surfing dot org. I use couch surfing a lot to meet local people. Great way to travel. She is not a professional guide, it was her first time in front of the camera. She had some good couching though ;)

This is the problem with the country: People cannot shut their mouth and criticize about the stupidest thing when they should be looking at the bigger picture. Stop being stupid for god's sake. It's her business how she represents herself, not everyone can be Tudong-wearing, soft spoken, extremely humble and withdrawn like you perfectionists. I think she represented the country's delicacy and social kindness perfectly - sorry but I doubt you can exhibit the same joy and loveliness she did.
