Ahhhh..... *Brunei the Abode of Peace.*
I worked in Brunei for solid 12 years and left some 20 years ago.
I used to run for BSBH3 (Hashes) and back then, drinking is allowed in some public places like the beaches. Bee Seng was one of the prominent booze and beverage wholesaler. 🍺🍺🍺🥂🥂🥂 I truly miss all my Bruneian friends and my favorite local food, "Nasi Lemak and Daging Rendang". Thien-Thien in Seri Complex offers the best "Bihun Goreng Kering Biasa". It's a fried white thin rice noodles with bean sprout and scrambled eggs. Oh... and ask for their famous dip, the "Blachan".
Visit the iconic Jerudong Park, they offered free rides back then. Capture the sunset at Muara or Serasa beach. Yatch club offers drink for members only. Luckily, I was back then! But what do I know now! Can't wait to see more of your Brunei Vlogs.
Please how were you given a work permit
@@ntiobeng2195 Valid employment visa + family sponsorship. My kids attended Chung Wha school. I was fluent communicating in "Bahasa Melayu" but after decades of no use, I'm losing it. Undeniably, the same goes for my Arabic.

Hashes still happening. at least in 2017, when I had my American, OZ, Kiwi and English friends who were in the same course as me. they were talking about hash every Wednesday afternoon at different locations every week.
There's actually a lot of good vegetarian restaurants here, my favourite go-to vegetarian restaurant is Tien Sing which serves the best buttermilk mushrooms ever! If you guys do plan on visiting Brunei again, i would suggest reaching out to a local - my friends and i could help too! Brunei actually has so much to offer and so many hidden places to explore really. Even us, Bruneians, we are still exploring our own country ever since the pandemic hits. Glad you two are enjoying yourselves whilst here last time! Loving the positiveness and enthusiasm!
Hi, I will be coming over next year. I am vegan and that's one thing that worries me, as I don't eat any meat, fish or dairy. Would you mind sharing any good places to eat. Thanks, I'm so excited to be coming to Brunei.
@@sarahroberts9859 Oh yes! We have a couple of vegan restaurants here. There's a restaurant i love around Menglait, it's called Tien Sing and i know the owners - they're vegetarian. There's also a restaurant called Veggie Recipe at Kiulap and Batu Bersurat. I'll look into more vegan places around for you to try and be at ease when you come over!
haha just realized i've already stated Tien Sing at the previous comment. Anyway, i'll find some more and i'll let you know, Sarah
@@sarahroberts9859 There's also Pureland Vegetarian restaurant at Kiulap as well you could check out
@@SwaniSJ thank you so much 😊

Just in time for the part 2. Nice👍
Hello beautiful couple, love watching you guys your Brunei adventure. Enjoy and take care always!
Been there in Brunei for 20 hours only staying overnight with my family in 5 star hotel for FREE in Banda Seri Begawan courtesy of Royal Brunei Airlines when we booked a return flight to Manila from Australia. The hotel staff took us around the palace of the king but unfortunately it was not available for tourist to visit at that time. So nice, clean, zero crime, quiet but same weather as in Manila.. hot! Thanks Matt & Molly for “taking” us there once again. Cheers mate and good luck. Do take care.
I actually love there
Live
Awww feels bad for Molly about the food. Those small fishes are our anchovies, commonly used in local/traditional dishes as natural savoury flavour. I do admit is difficult to get proper local vegetarian friendly food in Brunei (even harder for vegan friendly food). Vegetarian food is my biggest concern if my friends decided to pay me a visit from the UK/India.
♥️♥️ my happy pill.. ☺️ keep on dabbling...
I miss you guys ❤️

I also heard that this virus got in at Brunei but in a few weeks it stopped... Like 0 cases wow... The reason I moved to U. K it's because the places are very nice.. But then when the virus... Came... It got in so quickly.. Like its spreading right now... I really do miss Brunei....I might visit Brunei when this virus stop... I might also move there because I wanna spend time with my grandma and my cousins... I really do miss my family members and friends...I also miss my crush... Thank you for uploading this.. It makes me think that leaving friends and family members without saying anything is harsh... I can't wait to meet my family members and friends who cared me so much.... I really do miss them.... I also cried every night because I missed them... Please make this virus stop so I can meet my love ones... And thank you for visiting our country....its very nice n yet the sultan there is very rich... He is the most richest man in the world... His net worth is 20 billion dollars... And yet his furniture so are all gold... The mosque there is lovely...Aww I think I regret moving to U. K...i miss Brunei and can't wait to go there again and stay there forever 🙂😁

No wedding rings? When the sharia acts start to be enforced they apply to tourist as well as locals in some cases and sharing a room is just one example. Clooney and his luvvies jumped on the bandwagon 5 years too late because the ones that would have applied in your case were introduced in 2014.

Do they speak Malay, Indonesian, or Arab? All of the above? I think this’ll be a destination for me in the future as it’s not that far from Manila when I visit back.
They speak Malay but in different dialect,I mean not like Malay Malaysian language and English as their second language
Most people can understand Malay (Malaysia) and Indonesian because we watched a lot of their tv series. Arab probably not so much but they had a few a Arabic schools so there probably a small group of people could converse well in Arab. But mostly we speak Malay (Brunei) which is not that much of different from Malay Malaysia.
They also use *jawi* which basically is malay written in arabic script. So technically they could read arabic but wont understand it.
We speak malay and english Arab and indonesian maybe a little
