    Respect..They are great. I love the paralympics more than normal fancy olympics -because they overcome a disadvantage thrown at them by life and yet smile so wide.. It would have been great if the events are held at the same time , not a few weeks later.

      These are highly competitive athletes, not toddlers on sports day. They are all amazing, but not everyone is a winner. This is an elite competition.

      @@patheticmortal373 thank you. So many people don’t understand that “they are all winners” is horribly ableist. If you wouldn’t say that to an Olympic athlete, don’t say it to a Paralympic one.

    It’s profoundly apparent that the top 2 competitors have significant wrist flexion and triceps functioning. How’s that fair for S1?

      Hi Nicolla. To clarify, alower number indicates a more severe activity limitation than a higher number.

    I don’t mean to be rude but isn’t the parolympics sort of biased towards those with all their limbs vs those who don’t have them?

    • @patheticmortal373
      @patheticmortal373 2 года назад +3

      It can seem like that sometimes, but the more limbs the higher the drag and the more strength you need to get through the water. That's why you'll see people with fewer limbs in the less severe classes. They are able to get the same propulsion in the water as people with all of their limbs.
      Similarly you'll see people with all their limbs have weakness and limited movement, combined with the drag from said limbs, resulting in reduced capability thus a lower class.
