Just an added detail, but In the G1 cartoon, when Prime cured the Hate Plague he also cured Galvatron's insanity, bringing him back more in line with his previous Megatron persona. He was still hell-bent on defeating the Autobots and ruling the galaxy, but he wasn't crazy anymore.
I always felt that it was not just the plasma bath but also being severed from his psychic link with Unicron at the moment of Unicron's destruction that warped Galvatron's mind into insanity. It was never established that was a cause but I like to think it anyway. WRT Galvatron in the Bayformers universe, I felt it was a big missed opportunity in "Dark of the Moon" when Sentinel Prime was revealed to be a bad guy for him to say something along the lines of "No longer am I a Prime, now I'm Galvatron!" Especially considering who voiced him in that movie.
I agree about the loss of Unicron being the cause of Galvatron's insanity. Since both the Rebirth story and Headmaster series disappointed me I came up with my own idea that Cyclonus and Soundwave would have put Galvatron in stasis and dragged him back to Unicron's orbiting head and found a way to reset him as Megatron. But the only way to bring him back would be to reset him physically all the way to his cybertronian tank form. And that would have been awesome if Sentinel Prime had done that in the movie.
Not to drag you down or anything, but Sentinel’s main motivation is that he sees his role as Prime as being his right and title as a god. It wouldn’t make any sense for him to randomly proclaim himself no longer a Prime and as this weird Megatron-inspired name.
Hot take: Marvel UK Galvatron (the first one, not Galvatron ll) is not only the best incarnation of the character, but one of the best antagonists in the entire Transformers franchise. He wasn't just a threat to the Autobots- he was a threat to EVERYONE. Autobot, Decepticon and human, present and future, and eventually he was a threat to time itself. He was the ultimate wildcard- because of his madness, you never knew what plan he was going to try next, or what it would take to take him down. He was by far the most powerful character in the series at that point, beating the shit out of Optimus, Rodimus, Ultra Magnus, the Dinobots, the Wreckers, Soundwave, Piranacon, Scorponok and Death's Head. Despite his growing insanity worsening throughout the course of the series, he was still extremely cunning and intelligent, being able to spin any situation to his advantage. He managed to outsmart Shockwave, and tricked Megatron into working for him. He even drove both Ultra Magnus and Shockwave into having complete mental breakdowns. On multiple occasions did the Autobots and Decepticons have to team up to take him down- and every single time they were completely outclassed. Whenever Galvatron appeared, you knew shit was about to go down. Perhaps even more than Unicron, this Galvatron was the greatest threat the Transformers had ever faced. Never before had a threat challenged both the heroes and the villains to such a degree. In the end, the Autobots and Decepticons were only narrowly able to prevent Galvatron from destroying all of space and time. Ultimately, it was Galvatron's own madness that did him in, as his fractured mind was unable to recognise the ramifications of what he had done, and was consumed by time itself. Sure, the cartoon, IDW and Marvel US Galvatrons are more well-known, but UK Galvatron remains the single best version of the character IMO. If you've never read the Marvel UK TF comics, do yourself a favour and do so.
I grew up with the UK comic dropping onto my doorstep once a week and the whole story of Galvatron was carried out perfectly. The Target 2006 storyline was timed perfectly to introduce this powerful, maniacal character just before you watched the movie and discovered the big 'twist' that he was in fact Megatron from the future. Then the continuing time-travelling battles featuring classic Ultra Magnus face-offs (the best ones illustrated by Geoff Senior of course) were some of the most memorable comics ever.
You make a big point but think about liokaiser from victory he easily almost killed starsaber who just showed up to make dinoking and deathsaurus retreat
I personally like G1 Galvatron movie the best. The suave yet evil voice perfectly fit his cunning and determined character, and I never really minded losing Megatron for him. Yet I do understand Hasbro’s dilemma, as many people love Megatron
I like my Galvatron in the style of the Marvel Comics and War for Cybertron Trilogy. Very clearly connected to Megatron, but presented in a way that doesn't phase him out.
Here's something interesting about Armada and Energon. In both mediums, when Megatron transformed into Galvatron in Armada, the Japanese version kept his name and he was called Galvatron in Energon throughout the series. Kinda explains a few things and thought it was interesting to mention.
To be honest, I kind of like the idea of Galvatron as a completely separate character from Megatron. It allows for more opportunities to get creative with the character and do more with him than you would if he was just a constant and temporary "Megatron 2.0".
I like both having Megatron become Galvatron is a great I is a way to show respect to the original 1986 movie but I would like it if most things in the transformer universegive him more of a personality after transformation of his own being
Chris: “But, what do you think about this situation, Galvatron?” Galvatron: “Well, all I can say is... BWAAAAAAAAAA!” (Fires fusion cannon) Clever ending. I like it.
I personally still cling to the idea of them being the same character, preferably with no reversion, but I like the comic idea. Ideally have him from a different universe or the VERY far future, and have his insanity make it ambiguous as to his true identity.
Even though I love Frank Welker I agree with this, I think Welker could do Galvatron's voice but the one in the G1 cartoon I didn't enjoy as he did it so high pitch, I would prefer a more low pitch calculative voice
No, Nimoy's voice wouldn't have fit the tv show because of Galvatron's insanity. Welker sounded like a nut, and that voice was what was needed to portray Galvatron's insanity. Nimoy's voice just didn't fit who Galvatron became.
Purple over grey but I do like the movie idea of an "evolved" Megatron. However I think the original UK comic's idea of how to get Gav and Megs to exist together is fine. Time travel however complex is far from the strangest concept Transformers has dealt with.
Ben Sime exactly. Like how hard is it to say he's a potential future Megatron lost in time. He can both be his own character and be Megatron that way everyone's happy.
I see a parallel...in Age of Extinction, Megatron’s head was being used to create new tech for humans. In Transformers Animated, Megatron’s head was used to create future tech for humans. And in both cases, Megatron used the humans to get a new body. Fascinating...
@@SlyTF1 dotm has better decepticons, better autobots, better humans (shane and lucas were annoying) it has arguably better action scenes, an arguably better villain and doesnt have as many annoying scenes like aoe for example the “i like to be fresh when im making out with ur daughter 🤓” scene
@@bronxx4817 Lockdown alone was better than any Decepticons in DOTM. Megatron was humiliated, Starscream was killed by Sam, Shockwave was a disappointment. Sentinel was cool, but a missed opportunity to expand on Optimus's backstory. DOTM had too many humans, in general. AOE had its human stuff at the beginning, but starting in the second act, the Autobots were integrated into the story in a much better way. And the Autobots were actual characters, instead of background setpieces. The Dinobot charge scene in AOE trumps any action scene in any of the other movies, except maybe the forest battle. It was 10 minutes of pure robot-on-robot action, which I thought is what people wanted to see from these movies.
Yes. Mine also. But I'd love to see the fight between Galvatron and Matrix possessed Thunderwing. The combiner Galvatronus would be a good storyline if he could face Energon Prime.
Breaking with my usual stance, I actually prefer the IDW Galvatron. A separate individual from Megatron with his own backstory and ambitions. The UKG1 Galvatron was a neat one too, but the IDW version is my preference.
Either separate entity or same character, I don't care. Galvatron was always awesome. I loved how the 3rd series attempted to do some level of approach to adult stpry telling with the phyc ward episode. And I love how the Marvel Comics wasn't afraid to show just how vicious he could be. Another fantastic and informative episode from yourself Chris.
I’m surprised his Armada Version sacrificed himself to destroy Unicron. “Farewell, Optimus Prime! Victory is all yours! Now go look after your men they need you!”
I like how being thrown halfway across the galaxy and landing in a pit of plasma barely phased him, but being smashed between a few pieces of ice was somehow enough to kill him.
Galvatron II (from the Marvel G1/G2/Alignment universe) has to be one of the best characters and biggest loose ends of the franchise thus far. He's still out there somewhere in the multiverse with Grand Scourge. Hasbro has an excuse to stick him into literally *any* show or comic right now. Imagine if he'd shown up in Cyberverse as part of their multiverse story. That would've been *epic.*
Dammit, now I really wanna see the Basics on Beasr Wars II Galvatron. Tho from the regular "evolved form of Megatron" I gotta say that I like the Unicron Trilogy most on designs.
@@sonerec725 True that. Infact, so true that I actually got my hands on the Superlink Galvatron G figure. Which is about 200 € nowadays. Tho, all 3 of my Unicron Trilogy emperors of Destruction are the japanese versions.
Galvatron has always had my favorite robot mode. Even after having been a fan for the franchise's entire existence, Galvatron's G1 cartoon model has always remained THE BEST in my eyes. I want Fans Toys Sovereign bad but he's sooo expensive.
Geoff Seniors Galvatron vs Ultra Magnus during Target 2006 are my favorite scenes from the marvel UK run and the fact that Magnus just couldn't defeat Galvatron really showed the power of Megatron's future incarnation. Another great basic's Chris keep them coming. Till all are one.
I remember Galvatron being a much more menacing character than Megatron. Must have been the grandiosity of the movie and his transformation, and the fact that from that point, it seemed like Galvatron could 1-shot-kill literally any other Transformer. The fact that the writers decided to make him a clinically insane tyrant with absolute zero patience and no hope of anger management interventions kinda added to the mystique.
You can do both. A time traveling Galvatron from a potential future where Megatron is rebuilt and goes back in time to do something Mysterious. You get both characters, the same origin but you also get the amazing concept of two different forms of Megatron fighting to ensure the other never comes into being
I used to like Leonard nimoy as galvatron's voice actor more than frank welker but then I realized it makes more sense for galvatron in the series to have a more high pitched and squeaky voice because of the whole being insane and almost sane thing
Mine was always Shockwave....that character was always the most unigue, even for reality of Transformers universe he was the most unigue, giant nuclear powered cannon.Purple .....had him as a kid. Awesome toys.
I have a theory about G1 Galvatron. That plasma bath he ended up in wasn't the only thing that made him insane. I think there was an important connection with Unicron that got severed when he landed on Thrall. When he was transformed, Galvatron still had a grip on his sanity which lead him to try and rebel against Unicron, but after he was defeated, he really lost it. In other words, without Unicron, there is no sane Galvatron.
Awesome Episode! Robots in Diguise 2001, decepticon leader, is technically called Gigatron. Gigatron is a decepticon that never appears elsewhere and has no connection to Megatron or any other decepticon leader.
I've just stumbled on your channel, and I'm floored. Great work, sir. It is really feeding my Transformers nostalgia (I was born in 1980, and grew up with G1).
I think Galvatron can work as a temporary state for old Megs; it would be nice to see more takes whre he pushes unicron's influence out of himself to return to Megatron, as has been shown in a few cases as an an after-the-fact state. It could be a good arc for Megatron to overcome the tempration of Unicron's power. Honestly redemption arcs for Megs are too rare, especially with his new more sympathetic origins, he deserves to get redeemed now and then instead of a 'living long enough to become the villain' state.
I really enjoy going through these basics videos. Galvatrons one of my favorite characters. Can't wait to see what the deal is with him in the new trilogy. I jumped out of my chair when Unicron pulled him through the grid.
Galvatron has always been one of my favorite. Next to Soundwave on the Deceptive cons side. On the Autobots side of the war. Next to Optimism Prime kicking butt. Is Jetfire who a jet. You sir have a new subscriber. Thank you very much for posting this video.
I love energon and armanda version of galvatron yeah they are a recolor but sometimes the recolor would look better than the megatron color scheme and david kaye is awesome with the character.
This was an Incredible Masterpiece Video for Galvatron. Galvatron Ranked Through The Transformers Franchise 1: Transformers Generation One (Leonard Nimoy and Frank Welker) 2: Transformers The Aligned Continuity (John Noble and Frank Welker) 3: Transformers Film Series (Frank Welker) 4: Transformers War For Cybertron Trilogy (Jason Marnocha) 5: Transformers The Unicorn Trilogy (David Kaye) 6: Transformers Robots In Disguise Predacon Galvatron (Daniel Riordan)
I always loved G1 Galvatron, maybe even more than Megatron. I used to watch the movie on vhs everyday before school (I had half day afternoon kindergarten). I never understood why he was purple in the cartoon and grey in the toy until I was much older. Thanks for the awesome video!
When I was a kid, I always thought Galvatron being submerged in the plasma so long is what turned his voice from Leonard Nemoy back to Frank Welker lol
I've always grown up on Megatron becoming Galvatron, but I suppose I would be open to a temporary upgrade like Goku becoming a Super Saiyan. Not keen on two separate entities, tbh. And I wonder if they ever considered calling him "Gigatron." Guess Galvatron just sounds way cooler in the end. :p And I enjoyed both Leonard Nimoy and Frank Welker's versions of the character, btw. They both served their purposes. :)
Funny thing is that the Megatron from Energon is called Galvatron in the Japanese series, Superlink, I think. I prefer them, now, as seperate characters
I may have an explanation for Galvatron in the Age of Extinction changing back to Megatron for The Last Knight. In Age of Extinction…Galvatron transformed via nanotechnology. But in ThenLast Knight…Megatron transformed regularly. In order to do that…he had to have a new body constructed and his consciousness transferred into that new body. Since he was an agent of Quintessa, I’m wondering if SHE had the new body made for him…and reverted his name back to Megatron as a form of control. It’s just a thought…but it does line up to a point.
Considering how often Megatron bites the dust and comes back some time later, the use of Galvatron in the G1 capacity makes sense. I personally like the IDW version but I also think there's some real venom-to-carnage potential with Galvatron. If Megatron was presumed dead by the Decepticons, quite a few of his followers would want to bring him back in some capacity and be responsible for Galvatron's creation. However a fun twist on it could be that Galvatron believes that he's Megatron come back from the dead but in actuality Megatron never died and only disappeared. Thus keeping them separate but related enough that it makes for interesting dynamics between those characters.
I hear my phone notification sound and wonder who disrupts my afternoon nap. I see that it’s a new Basics episode, and instantly wake up. Sorry, was just trying to make a witty post. This is bad comedy.
There was even a planned to include galvatron in the world of transformers animated, animated galvatron would have been both the future leader of decepticon & ruler of cybertron, and a scratch drawing of him was made by the late Derrick j wyatt himself, but sadly the season 4 of animated wasn't green lite
I actually think the shift from Nimoy to Welker worked pretty well because it coincided with the mental imbalance Galvatron got from the lava/plasma damage on Thrull. Nimoy's Galvatron was an iron fist, while Welker's was hanging on to the ledge of a cliff with his fingernails... but still extremely dangerous. The points where Welker's Galvatron works poorest are when he has to show a more rational side in season three ("The Ultimate Weapon," "The Return of Optimus Prime", to name a few). There are a lot of reasons why "Webworld" is such a showcase episode, and Welker's performance is one of the biggest. Having said that, whenever I read IDW Galvatron, I hear Nimoy's version in my mind's ear.
@@ianmcintire6696 I feel like the whole plasma bath thing was just there as an excuse for the writers to not have to pay Leonard Nimoy to reprise his role for the series, they just thought psycho high pitched Megatron would work fine.
@@ianmcintire6696 Honestly I think it would've been absolute genius if they had Welker revert to his Megatron voice after The Return of Optimus Prime to represent his returning rationality.
Machinima's Power of the Primes webtoon namechecked Galvatron in a reference to G1, implying that the Megatron featured in it had once been Galvatron and in the service of Unicron, but had changed back.
That last clip you showed was PERFECT! I needed that. Also, about the Prime Series version of Megatron evolving with no name change; I think it is worth mentioning that Smokescreen made a joke about that, saying that because Unicorn was controlling Megatron's body, he didn't know what to call him. He even jokingly suggested the names: "Mega-cron" and "Uni-tron"
I've always loved IDW Galvatron's dismissal of Megatron as a "thug turned failed revolutionary". A feudalistic throwback to an earlier, more barbaric Cybertron was a good look for him... even if I don't know if being Arcee's twin brother really worked overall. Also, compare and contrast Galvatron from "Five Faces of Darkness part 4" with this clip: ruclips.net/video/74BzSTQCl_c/видео.html
I like how the most recent cartoon (WFC) Galvatron is an alternate universe megaton. It’s my personal favorite as it stays true to G1 but also makes sure he can exist alongside Megatron.
I think that were was a single line at the end of age of extinction that galvatron (or megatron) said "We shall meet again, for I am reborn" that I suppose could be why he went back to being megatron, but idk
Growing up with the Unicron Trilogy, they actually did the upgrade in a cool way. Everyone who was changed (it was just their color scheme anyways) realized they looked like a Transformer of the past. Starscream even says "I'm...Thundercracker?" I have no idea why doing this evolution in all 3 shows was needed, and how they all reverted back without even a mention, but I loved it. Shit, I remember where I was when I saw them change the first time haha
That's wrong about the American G1 comic. Galvatron was sent back to present day where he fought Megatron and eventually they teamed up till the end of the series. When Megatron was brought back in the pages of GI Joe, he revealed to Cobra Commander that the 2 were on the brink of death due to constant attacks by Earth military forces. Galvatron died with a whimper, getting crushed by a falling building.
THe Marvel UK Galvatron was just amazing, easily the best and all the crazy stories that went on around him. Him beating Centurion was cool, and also the story on the volcano.
Its far less complicated to have Galvatron as a separate entity and I also found it a bit cheap to just reformat Megatron because it diminishes him as a compelling villain...
What about this for a Megatron/Galvatron story. Galvatron was the herald of Unicron from the beginning of time, long before Megatron was created. When he fought the 13 Primes, they "destroyed" him, but Unicron managed to save him while still making it appear he was dead by converting Galvatron into an armor that could be worn by other bots who would gain his power, but his spark was preserved within the armor and would possess the bot who wore it. Maybe at a point when Megatron is looking for his latest source of power to conquer the universe, he finds the Galvatron armor and (unaware that it still had his life-force) put it on, only for Galvatron to possess the Decepticon leader and reactivate Unicron. But Megatron refused to be a slave to either of the two, he'd fight back Galvatron's possession and destroy the armor for good.
I may have missed mention of it, but in the power of the primes animation it was mentioned that Megatron used to be Galvatron when he carried the matrix of chaos (the artifact that turned that universe's Hot Rod into Rodimus Cron)
It honestly makes the most sense to me if Galvatron is just Megatron with the Herald of Unicron's powers, as in it's a title and not an actual character. Or it could have been a character, but now their mind transfers to whomever becomes the new Herald.
I like how they incorporated Galvatron in the WFC series where he is a time traveler trying to prevent Megatron from becoming him.

I say it all the time, Marvel UK was amazing, some of their stories put IDW to shame.
The Marvel Era's story for Galvatron has a little more bite to it and really adds much to what's going on.
But I haven't read marvel UK so I guess your right
I personally like G1 Galvatron movie the best. The suave yet evil voice perfectly fit his cunning and determined character, and I never really minded losing Megatron for him. Yet I do understand Hasbro’s dilemma, as many people love Megatron
Yh it's ONLY GEN 1 Megatron/Galvatron for me 😁👌✌️🍻
I like my Galvatron in the style of the Marvel Comics and War for Cybertron Trilogy. Very clearly connected to Megatron, but presented in a way that doesn't phase him out.
I think a good origin story for Galvatron would be being a clone of Megatron created by Unicron (or someone else) to take over Decepticons.
Frank Welker as Galvatron in AoE was nothing short of amazing. He somehow sounded more like Galvatron in that than he EVER did in the cartoon. Lol
Agreed, Bob.
Yeah
I’d prefer Team Purple because the alternate color scheme is a great way to further differentiate the two characters.
Purple for life
Yeah and purple in general is a great colour
It's also a great way for him to show off his Prince fandom.
They did kinda do both in BW:U.
Yeah. If they don't wanna do the classic Megatron evolution storyline, then this is a fine alternative to keep the character around.
Same
I like both having Megatron become Galvatron is a great I is a way to show respect to the original 1986 movie but I would like it if most things in the transformer universegive him more of a personality after transformation of his own being
They already did that in prime
Chris: “But, what do you think about this situation, Galvatron?”
Galvatron: “Well, all I can say is... BWAAAAAAAAAA!” (Fires fusion cannon)
Clever ending. I like it.
12:14 Shockwave: Oh, blast. (fusion cannon blast) (weakly) Be careful, Lifeline and Ratchet. He’s obsessed with titan class Scorponok, too.

I personally still cling to the idea of them being the same character, preferably with no reversion, but I like the comic idea. Ideally have him from a different universe or the VERY far future, and have his insanity make it ambiguous as to his true identity.
Leonard Nimoy was the best voice of Galvatron in my opinion.
@Jake Pearce agreed. As Thew and EmGo said: the world needs more Galvatron. I need to get FansToys Sovereign at some point.
Even though I love Frank Welker I agree with this, I think Welker could do Galvatron's voice but the one in the G1 cartoon I didn't enjoy as he did it so high pitch, I would prefer a more low pitch calculative voice
@@thebluesoulofintegrity4170 I agree. If Welker had to return, I would have preferred the low, rasping growl of Transformers Prime Megatron...
No, Nimoy's voice wouldn't have fit the tv show because of Galvatron's insanity. Welker sounded like a nut, and that voice was what was needed to portray Galvatron's insanity. Nimoy's voice just didn't fit who Galvatron became.
@@KingKull1971 Welker's voice for Galvatron in Age of Extinction was perfect but the G1 season 3 voice was just intolerable...
Purple over grey but I do like the movie idea of an "evolved" Megatron.
However I think the original UK comic's idea of how to get Gav and Megs to exist together is fine. Time travel however complex is far from the strangest concept Transformers has dealt with.
See how Doctor Who handled it.
Ben Sime exactly. Like how hard is it to say he's a potential future Megatron lost in time. He can both be his own character and be Megatron that way everyone's happy.
Well said.
**Cough Cough** G2 Budding **Cough Cough**
Galv, not gav.
I see a parallel...in Age of Extinction, Megatron’s head was being used to create new tech for humans. In Transformers Animated, Megatron’s head was used to create future tech for humans. And in both cases, Megatron used the humans to get a new body. Fascinating...
I always considered AOE sort of a live action adaptation of Animated. That's one reason it's my favorite.
@@SlyTF1dotm and 2007 are better no question, not an opinion but a fact
@@bronxx4817 2007, I could see an argument for, but DOTM isn't even close.
G1 Galvatron well always be my favourite incarnation and nice touch showing both Galvatron’s voices that was well played.
Yes.

I waited for this episode like a Saturday Morning cartoon and was not disappointed.
"Megatron? Is that you?"
"HERE'S A HINT!!!"
Purple here too. I was initially shocked when IDW made Galvatron separate from Megatron but have since warmed up to it.
Well...... I'm an old school kind of GUY. Give me The 1985s The Transformers THE MOVIE version of Megatron turning into Galvatron.
Amen!

I'm happy to say netflix' new transformers series does just that
I kinda enjoy that more it's a bit of a upgrade he doesn't care if he has a new name or not he just wants to rule
Energon Galvatron really showed how much a color scheme can transform the way a character looks.
@@sonerec725 True that.
Infact, so true that I actually got my hands on the Superlink Galvatron G figure.

I'd give anything for someone to animate Target 2006
It should be noted that in Super Link, Megatron is called Galvatron from the beginning and his upgrade form is apparently Galvatron General.
I always enjoyed the OG Galvatron, Lenard Nimoy all the way!
You get both characters, the same origin but you also get the amazing concept of two different forms of Megatron fighting to ensure the other never comes into being
...and that is the exact premise of this game :) the gameplay was kinda meh but the story quite refreshing )

I used to like Leonard nimoy as galvatron's voice actor more than frank welker but then I realized it makes more sense for galvatron in the series to have a more high pitched and squeaky voice because of the whole being insane and almost sane thing
Galvatron is one of my favorite characters! Thanks for the video on him! He’s so much fun in the old cartoon.
Mine was always Shockwave....that character was always the most unigue, even for reality of Transformers universe he was the most unigue, giant nuclear powered cannon.Purple .....had him as a kid. Awesome toys.
All I have to say is…nnnggaaahhh purple Galvatron. He’s actually one of my favorite Deceptions besides Starscream. Great video.
Hey thanks for including one of my favourite Galvatron quotes at the end, man!👍
I have a theory about G1 Galvatron.
Like an abusive relationship
You should do a 1-hour special for Optimus Prime and Megatron.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well the video of Optimus Prime is done. We’re all still waiting on Megatron.
12:13 Well all I can say is.... AAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH...!!!!!!!!
Titan's Return Galvatron is by far the best toy in this era. He's one of my favorite toys in my collection!
The original toy was cool; I remember being impressed at how solid and well-made he was. You could really smash him around and he held up !
Could you please make an a basics episode on the *Aerialbots.*
Galvatron has always been one of my favorite. Next to Soundwave on the Deceptive cons side. On the Autobots side of the war. Next to Optimism Prime kicking butt. Is Jetfire who a jet. You sir have a new subscriber. Thank you very much for posting this video.
Great video! Galvatron has been my favorite character since I was a kid and I was hoping you would get to him eventually. Keep up the great content!
I think Galvatron became insane due to having his psychic link with Unicron severed due to what was basically his physical death.
I love energon and armanda version of galvatron yeah they are a recolor but sometimes the recolor would look better than the megatron color scheme and david kaye is awesome with the character.
This was an Incredible Masterpiece Video for Galvatron.
Galvatron Ranked Through The Transformers Franchise
1: Transformers Generation One (Leonard Nimoy and Frank Welker)
2: Transformers The Aligned Continuity (John Noble and Frank Welker)
3: Transformers Film Series (Frank Welker)
4: Transformers War For Cybertron Trilogy (Jason Marnocha)
5: Transformers The Unicorn Trilogy (David Kaye)
6: Transformers Robots In Disguise Predacon Galvatron (Daniel Riordan)
I always loved G1 Galvatron, maybe even more than Megatron. I used to watch the movie on vhs everyday before school (I had half day afternoon kindergarten). I never understood why he was purple in the cartoon and grey in the toy until I was much older. Thanks for the awesome video!
When I was a kid, I always thought Galvatron being submerged in the plasma so long is what turned his voice from Leonard Nemoy back to Frank Welker lol
"Well all I can say is...AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!"
I love that. Always gets me.
And I enjoyed both Leonard Nimoy and Frank Welker's versions of the character, btw. They both served their purposes. :)
Funny thing is that the Megatron from Energon is called Galvatron in the Japanese series, Superlink, I think. I prefer them, now, as seperate characters
Sorry I’m not sold on the idea that Galvatron could be destroyed by an iceberg crushing him.
All is fair in Chris and Basics. And yeah, IDW Galvy is my fav. Great video as always Chris
Your videos are so good. Thank you for all the work you put into them. Everytime a new one comes out I cant wait to watch it. Great job and thank you.
I love how almost all TF media feels obligated to go through the motions of the whole Megatron-Galvatron back and forth
Team Purple! And thank you for this. He and G1 Ultra Magnus are my favorite Transformers.
I can't wait for the War for Cybertron: Kingdom version of Galvatron, which I suspect will be the best version ever released to date.
It’s just a thought…but it does line up to a point.
honestly, i prefer when galvatron is primarily purple, with a secondary dark gray. or when he's white with green and gold
Pio Nepomuceno, is it really you?
There was even a planned to include galvatron in the world of transformers animated, animated galvatron would have been both the future leader of decepticon & ruler of cybertron, and a scratch drawing of him was made by the late Derrick j wyatt himself, but sadly the season 4 of animated wasn't green lite
I like galvatron. But the movie voice was > than the G1 season3 voice
Agreed
They're so different in voice and personality that they might as well be separate characters.
Machinima's Power of the Primes webtoon namechecked Galvatron in a reference to G1, implying that the Megatron featured in it had once been Galvatron and in the service of Unicron, but had changed back.
will there be a basics episode on thundercracker? it would be cruel not to complete the original seeker trio
There was no basics on Starscreams either
It’s my personal favorite as it stays true to G1 but also makes sure he can exist alongside Megatron.
this was amazing keep up the great work.
Thanks Chris... This was so awesome! It definitely helped. I love all your Basics...
2:32 my mans so mad he forgot he had a canon as a arm and picked up a pistol on the table to start letting rounds off
OH MY GOD YOU DID MY FAVORITE CHARACTER! *FANGIRLS*
8:51 His “belt buckle” is a Poke-ball.
I Choose The G1 Galvatron Because Of His Character Design And His Voice Done By Frank Welker For Seasons 3-4.
Excellent video! Purple for life! My second favorite character in the franchise!
It honestly makes the most sense to me if Galvatron is just Megatron with the Herald of Unicron's powers, as in it's a title and not an actual character. Or it could have been a character, but now their mind transfers to whomever becomes the new Herald.
