    Thank you. This was helpful. Quick question, though. Would it be possible to zoom in on some portions of some videos to give a closer view of what is being shown/explained. Not truly necessary here, but it may have been nice to have had a closer view of the blue over the grey sphere and the optical green created when the blue glaze was applied over the yellow paint. Just a thought. Thank you, again. Your videos are very helpful, informative, and inspiring.

    although glazing is usually a technique done on flat surfaces, you can do it on the painted sculpture but you should be very careful about drips.

    Wouldn't the pencil drawing underneath get smeared when brushing on the glazing medium paint?

    I'd like to ask if the technique is viable for use with Liquitex Basic. I want to glaze a painting done with Basic, and wonder if you would recommend the use of glazing medium over water because it's Basic level paint. Also, in general if one uses glazing medium will the painting be as water resistance (for cleaning purposes) as if one used straight acrylics. I don't want to varnish it. Thank you for these instructions and your products! I've been painting for just a few months and find your student grade line makes the practice affordable and yet productive. Good day.

    If you use a glazing medium on a portrait, after you have laid down the basic flesh tones, can you glaze just the cheeks, for instance, or do you have to cover the entire face? Could you do just the lips and the cheeks? Thanks.

    • @LiquitexOfficial
      @LiquitexOfficial  6 лет назад

      Hi Kim, you can just do the lips and cheeks if you like, but it depends on your objective and finishing style. Let us know how you get on.
      Thanks,
      Team Liquitex

      Thanks for your reply. I did use it for that purpose, and I used it as part of a shadow, and as part of some blossoms, and as part of her hair, all in the same painting. I think I like it. I am still contemplating it.
      You must have some site where you post Liquitex paintings by beginners and professionals, for feedback, or just for show?

    Do you have to mix it into the paint or can you directly glaze over the entire finished painting?

    • @user-rr2gk9ds4i
      @user-rr2gk9ds4i 7 лет назад +1

      the aim of glazing medium is to make the paint itself translucent, so that you can slowly build up layers of paint. glazing over a finished painting won't change anything. you can buy a glossy varnish to add a sheen to your finished painting if that's the effect you want

      Amani, Oh OK. Thank you. Yes, I think the varnish is was I'm looking for.

    • @JeanannO

      amani yes, you can go over the painting with the glazing medium to seal it like a varnish.
