Watching this prior to starting FYJ 2024. I was filling up a glass whilst watching , I was so enthralled with the luscious colour that I just kept pouring! 🤣 Smoothie everywhere! I love this demo. I've only seen artists use glazes towards the end, but starting with the transparent glazes & sanding back into them, looks gorgeous!
This is a wonderful glazing technique with transparent and/or translucent colors is very interesting. It has a similar character as watercolor: underlaying layers are visible. Thank you for sharing.
Omg... THANK YOU SO SOOOOO MUCH Louise!!!! I made SUCH a mess before... This video makes it so much clearer what to do. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and experience so generously. And yes, I truly hope your paintings are still here in 500 years, so our kids' kids' kids' kids' kids get to enjoy them!!!!
Absolutely just what I was needing - you are the very best, clearest teacher, and I’m so glad I found you. Thank you so much for sharing, Louise. Right, I’m off to find translucent colours! Jen ❤️
Thanks Louise for this invaluable info...that finished panel was so beautiful! Even though you intend to work on that base, it's gorgeous the way it is! 😍
Love your work and your explanations! Question: I did a small work that has collage elements and areas I’m not overly fond of. Can I keep layering paint and collage and glaze over it?

Question:
I did a small work that has collage elements and areas I’m not overly fond of. Can I keep layering paint and collage and glaze over it?
Yes you can!
Beautiful!! I love the glazes! Did you put anything with the blue besides water? 💙
Nope - just water
@@ThisPaintingLife thank you 😊
Do you hv to let each layer of glaze dry first. Before adding another layer
What are you painting on?
What do you seal with?
What was your next step with this? Is there a follow on video? It’s very fascinating!
I know that my comment is very late but what brand of paint is that you are using
I have all sorts - if I can get my hands on it, I use it!
@@ThisPaintingLife That's what I do...any paint, any medium for that matter 😊😊
i DIDNOT HEAR ANYTHING
The sound is there - the issue is on your end. Sorry!
