Animals are looking very good. Hopefully that repair works long term on the truck. Always enjoy the Mack in action. Had a Nuhn lagoon crawler that would shred belts frequently. We found out the alternator was off in alignment just a small amount. Had to take the new pulley to the machine shop to bore out the hole for the mounting nut deeper. Just a little bit different than the old pulley. Had a bobcat S175 that did it, couple of the pulleys were worn out thin and the tensioner pulley bolt needed a shim to tighten it straight. All sorts of fun things to mess with a belt. Looking forward for more.
99% of broken bolts in a block is you take out all the bolts at once then pressure is on one of the bolts. Always break free a bolt then re tighten it move on to next. After all bolts broke free take them all out especially on exhaust manifold but water pumps are the second biggest pain for broken bolts.
I agree with you the fan is only engaged when temp reaches a certain level there for saving fuel and increased power when fans not driven making the engine thermally more efficient.
@@derrickwilkie5611any colder weather driving who the hell wants that fan running all the time. Keeps the radiator from reaching operating temperature which decreases power and burns extra fuel to try make up the power.
I put an electric fan on a 4300 Ih we ran Texas and California and it worked great you would have alternate belts only and more power by taking the fan and hub off. Just an idea Good job.
I remember when I put a lift and 32 on my trailblazer and asked the Internet why my fuel mileage sucked. Internet said take mechanical fan off and out electric. Well that worked great until the day I forgot to turn it on. Mechanical fans are far superior in almost every aspect.
You’re right new trucks have issues too. The big difference is you can work on the old truck while the new truck has to go to the shop so it can be hooked up to a computer and it only cost $120 plus per hour.
It's crazy. When I was a kid in my mid to late teens we could tear down any car engine and replace anything and everything and have it back in the car running the same day. Yeah that required a few extra guys, but is was so easy. These days just the sight of a modern engine with all its computers and chips is so intimidating, no thanks.
You may want to try running your belts slightly looser. On older equipment that may not be aligned 100%, a little extra deflection seems to keep the belts from rolling. Love the channel!
Nope those have to be tightened to spec to ensure your air compressor is running properly to maintain air for the brakes . That compressor turns hard enough that if the belts are not tight they slip on the compressor pulley all the time it's running and wears them out in a hurry.
Air disengage clutch fan hubs are good, turn fan on cool truck right down before you climb the hill then turn it back on when it gets warm near the top of the hill then disengage when going down the backside
Chis you didn't notice spacer on first water pump wasn't seated correctly only out in one spot bout 2mm further out it grows cheers mate keep up good work
if you give your pigs free access to a water nipple, or bowl, they will play with it and soak their pen. restrict their water to mixing it with their feed only.
As much as you ask Yanko if he is thumbs yet maybe it’s time to trade him in for a trained monkey. Lmao. 😂 just kidden. So my advice would be to find a serpentine belt conversion kit. Someone had to make one. Or someone knows how to piece one together and those 2 belts don’t have a chance. That rusty pulley will chewy them up.

Don't need a fan clutch cause it's all ready running cool........duh. direct drive fan , this guy special
LOVE your videos. Every time I'm having a bad day, all I have to do is watch one of your videos and my day seems alot better. 👍👍😂😂
Hope that this is the right fix. Keep on going.

Here's what you can do to help you clean that stuff up buy you some kitty litter and the cows and the pigs do look good
Hope that repaired it. I wonder if a set of matching belts would help? Have a good day.
Hope it solves the issue!
there is no harm in the fan clutch, on the contrary, it saves belts and the water pump, especially when starting

I agree you took the words right out of my mouth also it won’t sound like an airplane when you take off
A fan with a clutch is good but with out the clutch is one less thing to go wrong and less likely to over heat the motor
Are you sure? @@dailesperry8256

I believe this is a better way with older equipment.

I drove macks for 30 years. They all had clutch fans. Also it will take away power. It will get better fuel mileage.

Duff I would put rubber shielding around that line now to prevent that line from chaffing too now...
Chris that was great loved it planned on your video wrenching on and it was
Send the old water pump to a mechine shop. They might be able to straiten it or mechine the pully mounting serface so it runs true
Much better !
Hey chris hope you made out ok with. The rain we got keep up the great content
them pigs need bedding get some bales out of the loft
Love the wrenching videos

Your harmonic balancer should be changed every 500,000 miles

Don't see why you're so against the fan clutch. There's thousands and thousands in service.
Yup new stuff sucks your right there slowly getting back to older trucks
One thing with V belts they don’t ever squeal like the serpentine belts.
How about link and patty for the piggies?
Chis call them ham and bacon
Wrenching adventures by Chris. Best show ever👍👍👍
Timing lite shined on pulleys you’ll be able to sea the wobble
Bacon #1 and Bacon #2
Make sure all yoir pulleys are even and lined up straight and not crooked too or uneven spirals now too..
Could there be sorting between those two pulleys making they out side three grove one wobble?😊

Id look at the balancer with someone pushing the clutch. Wonder if the thrust bearings are shitty?
Damn Duff you keep it up and you’re going to be a good farmer and a decent mechanic
You bent something when the front end got wrecked
That 3 belt pully came off the parts truck...not sure how he would have bent it when he didnt own it when the red mack was damaged.

Be glad it was not your high knee 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You need too use red coolant in all your big trucks
Huh?? all diesel coolant isn't red. Lmao. The coolant sold here at the Mack dealer is green.
@Otherrandomguy42 well the closest mack dealer around me is 75 to 100 miles away from me and a diesel mechanic told me to use red for that body mack
Looks like your pulleys have too much wear. The belts are running too deep in the alternator pulley. They make a gauge to measure your pulley grooves
Take take measurements of the old one and the one you're putting on
Call global get the AC kit
I didn’t feel a thing
A new water pump is a lot cheaper than a head or motor. Don't cheap out on critical engine components. It'll come back to bite ya!!?
