    One of the better skis I’ve ever tried… They really come to life at speed and are surprisingly composed in variable snow.

    Appreciated your review on the Sender 104. Just out of curiosity, did you demo the Sender 94 ti ?
    I got them late in the season and love them. Great in short snappy turns and in the bumps while also handling soft spring snow very well.

    I did a demo day this year with a dozen skis on a somewhat slushy groomer day. I didn't try the 104's but instead the 94ti's and they were the surprise of the day. The agility and carving performance were excellent for an all mountain ski. I'm a big guy and pushed them to my hearts content. I think the 94ti's would make a great ski for someone looking for excellent carving ability with some all mountain versatility baked in.

    How are the 94s if you tried those? Does the Blizzard Rustler 10 outclass this?

    I own the 94ti and demo'd the 104 ti. Although very similar skis they do not ski that similar. I agree the 104 feels a little clunky on the firm..but its 104. It also has a little more metal that the 94 to help stiffen it up a little edge to edge, at least that's my understanding. You can feel it. The 94ti is a magic ski, more supple than the 104 and feels a lot quicker and agile than the10mm difference would suggest. If deeper proper 3D snow is on the menu grab the 110 Sender free for a demo..they are awesome. You wont want to give them back. I own those aswell!

      i hear good things about the 94ti, how are they in the crud?

    • @nzheliking1278
      @nzheliking1278 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@urbanrunoff they are a bit lighter than a mantra or enforcer so get deflected a touch more. But I wouldn’t say it’s a massive difference. The trade is far more versatile ski. They rail groomers, charge pretty hard when things are cut up and feel pretty at home offpiste. Not tons of tail rocker and reasonably stiff tail so you need to get the weight over the shovels a bit. But much easier off trail than a mantra etc, at least in my experience. Don’t need as much speed to come alive. Easy to cruise but come to the party when you let them run.

      @@nzheliking1278 thanks sounds like a ski i would like. The new experience 86ti impressed me with it's ability to mix turnshapes and dampness at speed. so the Sender might be a good addition for more off piste playfulness.

      @@urbanrunoff yep the Arcade 84/88 also looks pretty sweet for the groomer days. Demo the 94. It feels narrower than 94 on piste and wider than 94 off!

      I did a quick demo of the 94ti's expecting nothing special. Well, I was pretty blown away with their carving performance. I like nimble skis that can charge and they fit the bill!

    sounds like the ski has a personality problem -- if you were a Rossignol ski designer would you get rid of some of the titanal, add a bit of rocker and make a softer powder ski out of it? better in the trees and at slower turns but lose some of the carving ability? or and weight and side cut and make it a crud cutter carver?

  • @mcleanirish
    @mcleanirish 7 месяцев назад +2

    90% sure the designer of Rossignol Sender Air-tip also designed the walls of the Death Star.
    Actually skied on the Sender 94 TIs about a year ago and found they were a bit hard on the knee/joints. Only ski that's done that even after a half day. Think it was just too much ski for me.

      Interesting, I really liked the sender free 110 so maybe test those if you can or plenty of other good skis out there at the moment.

    I love my aging Soul7’s. Demo’d next year’s Sender Free 110. It feels stable but clunky. Also bought the Black Ops Escaper 94. They both are less chattery than the Soul7 but lost the spry / fun turns in the exchange. Any advice for Soul7 replacement?

      @andrewdiamond2697 7 месяцев назад +1

      I'm in the same place with a Rossi Sky 7 (98 mm to the Soul 7 106 mm). Great go everywhere fun ski, but the chatter at speed and lack of ability to cut through crud has been getting to me.
      BTW, I'm pretty sure my next ski is a Nordica Enforcer Unleashed 98.

    • @lokivid
      @lokivid 7 месяцев назад

      Soul7 HD specifically. I feel like I could overcome the chatter with increased edge control at speed.

    • @RicketySkiReviews
      @RicketySkiReviews  7 месяцев назад

      I haven't skied the soul 7 so it's hard to recommend a replacement, would need to know what you like, what you want it for, what width you're looking for. I will say I bought Salomon QST 106's myself for powder (used to run the B3 Bandit Tetons) and love the Head Kore 93's and Daily Drive Atomic Maverick 88Tis, If you're looking for Dampness The Stockli Stormrider's do a good job, but I need more to work with here.

      I own 94Ti(172) as well for Northeast skiing... got them mid season and have really like them for groomers, crud and a little fresh snow when we get some... also have Salomon QST 106(173) that I love, but 94Ti better daily drivers. @@benharsha7505

    We had quite a similar experience. I tried the 94 and my thoughts were : it feels like what an Enforcer SHOULD feel like 😅
    It does all of what the enforcer likes to do : rails open carving turns, very good crudcutting abilities. And can do a bit more like it somehow floats very well and it is more forgiving in the bumps BUT... it is heavy and way too grippy... its like it doesnt like to be skied at a lower speed and lower edge angle. Tho its not as one dimensionnal as the my Enforcers...

      agreed, got lucky and picked up a pair for 300$ cad with pivots and love them for those fast charging non pow days but def a little awkward when you slow done, not nearly as bad as enforcers or mantras imo

      @@simongloutnez589sounds like a lot of that could be fixed with some detuning of the tips and tails

    • @simongloutnez589
      @simongloutnez589 7 месяцев назад

      @@brookscurran I always detune a bit the tip ans the tail. I tried detuning them more (only the shovel as this is were the problem unfolds, the tail needs more rocker, or more tip rise, or less metal (the new version has more rocker and tip rise wich should help)). But when the shovel is too much detuned then I can't reliably rail my turns as hard at high speed... it just show that the enforcer is an old design. It was groundbreaking, its still good, but it doesnt hold to the competition nowadays.

    • @brookscurran

      A bit flatter tail so they ski more directional and a little less versatile than the 104 in my experience. Pretty similar otherwise… both really come to life with some speed.
