Cold/RSV season is here. I'd love to know tips on how to treat your baby's cold, and how to know when to take baby in to your pediatrician. Also more education on RSV would be amazing!

I second this! I was just about to leave a request for what to look for with RSV and colds in small babies. My daughter is 7 weeks and all this talk in the news of raising cases of RSV is nerve racking!

I was pregnant the first time with you guys and now I’m on the journey with you again! Crushing fatigue was very real my first pregnancy, and severe nausea. This time is oddly a cake walk so far… but it’s still early 😊 Good luck and thanks for sharing!

Can you please talk about going diaper free with EC “elimination communication” I found this information by chance and started doing it with my baby at around 4 months old. Took a break for a few months and started again at 7 months and my baby poops in the toilet every morning and we catch some pee too during the day. We only do EC part time. But I think more people should talk about this

thankyou SO MUCH for the pumping hygiene clarification - the guidelines are SO confusing and excessive, i may have been able to sustain my supply earlier if i knew the distinction between preemie and regular hygiene - hopefully can pump more frequently now and save my supply and breastfeeding relationship with my baby :')

For exercise: I used Tummy Tape, which is a kinesiology tape that pulls weight off the perennial band. It is what kept me working out after 36 weeks and I gave my extra ones to my OBGYN to give to mommas struggling with perennial band pain and she said it's relieved womens bellies so much that they're no longer bed-ridden. Highly recommend that, or spider tape--but Tummy Tape stays for a week between showers and you get your money's worth. My only regret was not buying it sooner.

The second pregnancy is so different.
I thought I was the only one that wasn’t keeping up with the weeks, days and baby bump photos. The exercise part I can relate too. I started off good the first trimester and I just got so tired throughout the day I wanted naps. With my second one I worked harder to keep moving and exercising.
    Life is busy and exhausting!!

Tbh when I'd boil the parts and bottles I always ended up melting them so I stopped doing it.... and I was never good at staying active. I counted being on my feet for hours at work as exercise and just relaxed at home. Might be why I still have 20 pounds to lose 8 months later after my second one, but life is definitely exhausting and time is fleeting

My baby is currently 6 months old and we're thinking of trying for baby number 2 and I'm currently exclusively breastfeeding him and don't really have a much extra in the freezer. Would love to be able to continue breastfeeding him whiles pregnant.. ps love all of your videos!

What perfect timing! I also started out boiling the pump parts every time I used them, then my lactation consultant told me I could put them in the fridge. Now I hand wash everything with Dawn + water as hot as I can stand.
As for the spit-up, I noticed that my baby spits up a lot less on days when I go vegetarian and don't eat animal protein. I'm going to go vegetarian for the week, and see if the amount of spit-up is significantly less.

Should pump parts be completely dry before use or can thry be used with some water still present? Should pum parts be rinsed before placing in the fridge? Thank you so much. Seems really helpful for pumping especially at work.

I’m so appreciative of the wealth of knowledge you continue to share with us! My 6 week old spits up a TON. Baby is gaining weight appropriately but is uncomfortable after many feeds. A short time after feeding babies eyes go wide, the spit up begins followed by hiccups which causes baby to spit up more. ( sometimes the spit up is four large spit ups at a time ☹️) Does this seem normal? Can hiccups in babies also be a sign of more severe gerd? Thank you!!

Boys are so special!! I’m obsessed with my 6 month old. Also! I have a question. I’m not sure if you’ve addressed it before, but my pediatrician said my little will probably need a helmet for his flat ish head. We will see a specialist soon, but what can I expect with that visit? Is it pretty common for babies to need helmets? He’s my chunky potato baby who is not rolling yet and very content on his back 😅 thanks!

I am sorry to hear this. That's a hard feeling. I was able to breastfeed well with my first, now with my second it has been a real struggle we are 6 weeks into our journey here, but I am still fighting for it. Just some things that have helped me is going to my local lactation consultant and we have a breastfeeding support group also share your struggles with your mom friends and someone may have experienced something like you're going through and share what they have done. You are definitely not alone. Great job mama!!

The same happened to me. It's hard to absorb because I didn't know that very low supply may be an issue combine with inverted nipples breastfeeding just didn't work so I had to resort to frequent pumping, donor milk and occasionally formula.

The constant obsession with exercise makes me feel like shit. I've been told my whole life that my body is inferior and bad and ugly. I'm 33 weeks pregnant today, 38 years old, this will be my first baby. I'm severely anemic despite having been on iron supplements during this whole pregnancy and before. I'm going to need iron injections. I have chronic kidney stones from a genetic disorder. I'm hypermobile and am in pelvic physical therapy. I wake up every morning in such severe pelvic pain that I cry and can barely walk or move. Walking up a flight of stairs is exhausting. I can't sleep because of constant morning urination (which also means I have to get in and out of bed which causes more pain). I have PTSD, which is worsened by body image problems and when exacerbated causes my blood pressure to spike.
My baby is so loved and so wanted, but I just can't move the amount that every video, website, and app seems to harp on and on about. I hate the assumption that I'm lazy or hurting my baby. I appreciate you saying in the video that you are human, but please remember there are so many ways to exist inside a human body, and the medical system often makes people like me or people who don't fit the dominant beauty paradigm feel subhuman.

I absolutely see and hear you! I got a CozyBump in the second trimester, and I used it daily for about 30 minutes to an hour, just to take the pressure off my back and hips. It helped enormously - I couldn't have survived without it. I did have to put some extra layers of memory foam underneath in the last couple of months, just to make sure I wasn't putting weight directly on my belly. Also, lifting one leg straight up in the air while lying on my side on the bed helped move the joints a bit

  • @justathumb
    @justathumb Год назад

just a question - there's spit up, and then there's projectile vomiting the entire feed 😬 our baby girl projectiled at least 3x a day until she was about 12 weeks, and fell sharply off her growth curve. unfortunately the docs played "wait and see" until basically she grew out of it. it's been really hard to try and get her weight back on track after that, feels like permanent growth spurt/cluster feeding! i just wonder if spit up is in the same category as projectile vomiting? cos looking back i'd probably insist to intervene now, knowing how tough it's been to get her weight back up. apparently docs are hesitant to prescribe antacids to babies for various reasons so it's tough to know what to do!

Hi Sarah! I heard you mention that you had SPD with your first pregnancy. I did as well, pretty much starting at week 20 and it became absolutely unbearable toward the end (I cried many many times just trying to do basic movements). I was very physically active BEFORE pregnancy but pretty much stopped cold turkey at week 8 out of fears that weight training might affect the pregnancy. I have thought of having more children but the thought of going thru the that pain again has put me off. Especially because I read online that if you’ve had it once you’re likely to have it again and it would start even earlier in the pregnancy. What can I do to prevent this??? Much love from Miami ❤

My baby is on breastmilk and top formula feed (similac) due to low birth weight. From some days, baby is crying very badly while being fed on top feed and refusing to take it. I feed top feed through steel feeder or bowl and spoon. But he's throwing all milk out of his mouth and not drinking properly and continuously crying. Anyone facing this problem. What's the solution for this. Please help.

I have a question about ovulation after going off the pill long term. Is it possible to still have a period and still NOT release an egg? I was on the pill 19 years and went off in June. 4 months and still haven’t conceived. Cycle was every 28 days but getting shorter the past 2 months. Last month 26 days and this month down to 24 days. I’m just worried maybe I’m not in fact releasing an egg
