How to remove a stuck DVD or CD from a slot DVD player

- Use electrical or packaging tape folder around a plastic card (I.e credit card, reward card, etc.) with the sticky side outside. Stick it in the slot and gently pull it out along with the stuck DVD(s).
Stumbled across this random video all these years later, in 2022. You really saved my life, bro. We’ll grab a beer one day.

Local car garages said my CD player was completely buggered, tried RUclips and this video cause why not. Cd was free within 10 mins (9 minutes spent trying to find tape) thankyou!

Yep had to share, my 3 year old managed to jam 3 DVD’s in that thing. The first was 3/4 poking out so I got that out.
I actually used a craft popsicle stick and packing tape, it works. Got 1 dvd out and the player was able to eject the other.

Mine is the stock DVD player on the 08 Honda Odyssey.

I seen several vids on this and most people are using Costco cards...those cards work better than others??
Any credit card or a plastic ruler would work...

@@kenrivers9757 Before you go ahead and open it. Try a strong tape like Duck Tape and maybe a skinny flexible ruler. Also, try pressing the eject button as you try to pull the disc(s) out. Hope that helps.

2 cds stuck in my car stereo. Cartoys said they would have to break my stereo to remove. $700 or more to replace. $4 for dbl sided tape and out in 30 seconds! Always check youtube.

Can someone tell me what you are using to get DVD out? I have two DVD’s stuck in a sharp lcdtv/DVD. This is so upsetting. It’s my moms tv. Someone put a dvd in on top of dvd already in there.. please help?
I use a credit like plastic card with electrical tape folded over (the sticky side is towards the outside). You can use a skinny plastic roller or something similar with packaging tape with the stick side outside and see if that helps.

Won't work on my honda odysessy van. Same kind of stereo cd player. I tried the tape on a wooden popcycle stick, then tape on a plastic credit card. Tape came off almost in CD player.
Try a plastic ruler and make sure you wrap the tape all around the ruler so it does not come off inside the dvd player. Try thick clear packaging tape. Best wishes.
Also, if you are trying this on a multi CD changer, then this trick may not work. The video demonstrates it on a single DVD player.
Ok my dvd is stuck in my car system with the flip screen I can put another dvd in and it plays the 1 I just put it I can't even eject the other part of the way to try this although I haven't tried it yet either

My rca tv dvd combo yook the dvd but now won't eject. I have the remote. I yried the credit card yhing nut I don't hear any motor when I press the eject.
tried this time after time and it didn't work. i eventually had to get my stereo replaced and the cd was in pieces.

Yes, it still is chugging along, but not something that we use much anymore as kids have their devices (sad reality)
Does this scratch your disc
I have had no issues with disc getting scratched. At most you may end up getting some gunk from the tape on the disc. Clear packing tape seems to work the best in my opinion than the electric tape as I had shown. Avoid any type of duct tape as that will leave gunk. Good luck.

I would use the same method that I show in the video. If the cards a far inside and the electrical tape is not to strong, then try using a thin plastic ruler with clear packaging tape. I would not recommend using duck tape as that might leave some residue. Good luck.
