Thank you from the bottom of my old grandma heart. I was organizing my stash. Records, CD's ,VHS tapes. And remembered I have a vcr/dvd player.I knew the DVD player had died along time ago. But going through my old VHS tapes there were some I really wanted to watch. I also have an older tv that I don't use. Thanks to you I was able to do this myself. Grandma is happy.Thank you again.
Thanks so much! Got a used vcr/dvd player off of Ebay. My son won't be here for awhile, and I needed to make sure it was working properly before the return period expired. 63 years old, and feel pretty darn good about doing this myself! Only because I watched this video!
I'm not sure if Rough Drafts still gets notifications for comments on this video since it was posted in 2019 and it is now 2024, but just in case-thank you so much for sharing this! I recently inherited an old VCR and had no idea how to connect it to my Vizio TV. After spending over an hour trying to figure it out and nearly giving up, I was stuck on where to plug in the yellow connector, as the “Y” on the back of my TV was green, not yellow. It didn’t even occur to me that the green “Y” was for the yellow plug! Luckily, someone suggested I check RUclips, and I found your video. As an older lady in my 60s who’s not very tech-savvy, I used to rely on my late husband for things like this. Since he passed away, I’ve been slowly learning to handle tech myself. Our old VCR stopped working years ago, and I had a pile of DVDs I couldn’t play. Thanks to your video, I was able to hook up this VCR and enjoy my favourite DVDs again. And since it also plays CDs, I can now listen to music my husband and I used to enjoy together, bringing back so many sweet memories. I’m proud of myself for getting this set up, but I never could have done it without your help. Thank you so very much, Rough Drafts!
Don't know if you are still there; but from the bottom of my heart a big THANK YOU. This video is a MUST and you are an excellent teacher You saved my marriage !!!!!
Thank you so much for teaching this semi ole lady how to hook up my go video (DVD/VCR) machine I rescued from my previous home that I was going to discard after watching video after video on how to hook it up to T.V. Thank goodness your tutorial explained that that on the back of a T.V. the Y is for Yellow/Video no matter if the Y is displayed with a different color. My T.V. has the Y in mint green leading me to believe I had to have a mint green connecter. HAHA! It was like a light bulb went off and an Awwwww moment! Now I can watch my old VHS tapes and DVD's knowing that with your help, I did it without giving up or asking for help from my loved one. I feel victorious!!!! Thank you so much!
This by far has been the most helpful and uncomplicated tutorial video I have ever seen. I was just getting ready to either return VCR/DVD or go to a local Shop and most likely ended up wasting money. Thank you so much!! You're an awesome Teacher.
Thanks so much! Me and my grandma found an old collection and she got to see her parents who passed a while ago. This video is truly a blessing. I hope you and your family stay healthy. Again, thank you.
Thank you. I have been fighting with this off and on for a month. I was convinced that I had to buy different cords until I saw your video instructions. So easy!!!
My husband just found you today. I bought a Visio tv and a Panasonic dvd player at our local Goodwill this morning. We tried putting the colored wires into each and we got nothing. Then he watched your video. You said to push the AV button on the tv remote. By golly we got George Strait in Pure Country. Yay thank you so much.
I can't thank you enough Peter! Was about to toss my equipment thinking it was too old to connect to a newer TV. I'm so grateful to you as I can use my VHS/DVD player again!!!
I was sitting on this floor for about 10 15 mins before I said forget it and came to RUclips because I knew this question of how to hook up the DVD player to the TV would be here for those of us who forgot because of Netflix and Hulu and peacock.... Thank you.......
OMGOODNESS!!!!! Would you believe I've been trying to figure out how to get my VCR/DVD player to work with my flat screen for at least two years. To say I'm not tech savvy is an serious understatement. I was literally heading to Best Buy tomorrow get some advice since I want to be able to view some of my favorite Christmas videos. I followed your simple directions and just like that my vcr is finally communicating with my TV. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!

I've watched SO many videos that didn't explain exactly how to do this but yours was easy to follow and I got this done in no time at all. Thank you for your help....loved it!!

Thanks. Peter you made it clear.... you showed the DVD/VCR player and the back of the TV.. good video. Other videos just show yellow, red, white but you do not know if it is the back of the TV or VCR..... But you Peter made it very clear... I got my connection in 3 minutes. Thumps up.
Thank you so much for taking the time to help people like me who had no idea how to hook it up. Others who said their yellow hooked in to the green one was what got it working. Thank you again!

1:40 I paused the video and figured it out. Whole time my father had the cord plugged in the wrong spot. And I work in robotics and 😂 it sadly took me 30 minutes to figure out what he did wrong. His vintage sony Dvd player has a white video output slot for where the yellow cord goes (factory error)😂😂😂😂. Thank you again man
Thank you so much. I've been struggling with connecting my DVD player for awhile and I was worried if I needed to buy another one or more cords. It turns out that I just mixed up some cords for the audio this whole time. I just feel so much relief that I got it working in time to watch some of my favorite Christmas movies on DVD. Thank you again.

Great info. Worked. Got rid of cable TV and streaming thru Internet Wi-Fi and Roku. Had it set for years set up thru the cable TV. Got it. Saves me over $100 a month getting rid of cable.😊😊
My only complaint is i didn't find this video before my usual debacle 😂 now this is a how-to done right, no one wants production value. Quick, concise, and effective. And for that i thank you sir *tips fedora*
