This is a soul that God created, one of his creatures. To me the impurity lies in the acts of the procreators, not the created result of their lust. To me it would make sense for God to call that soul back to Heavan and show it the love the procreators did not. The Catholic Church does not teach that unbaptized children go to hell! We don't actually know what happens to these children. There was an old tradition that they go to Limbo (it's like the Bosom of Abraham in Judaic teaching). But this is outside of our knowledge and we entrust them to the mercy of God. This is the teaching in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. (See the Catechism, part two, VI. section 1261).

But yes, as all children are born into original sin they are indeed at the mercy of God. And therefore, a mystery to me still as there is no other specific reference in The Bible.
