Got pulled away. Just getting to finish this video now. But I wanted to say, I’m never a “no” for anything. As long as it’s done tastefully - _I’m all in!_

I have a friend from Europe whom I met in Colorado through the military. When they were renovating, she got all of her kitchen outfitted by IKEA and she actually went with the induction cook top and a lot of the deep drawers to make her kitchen more like the ones she grew up with in Germany. Her husband won on the pantry front though.

NYer here with a narrow galley kitchen. Could you make a video geared towards small apartment kitchens and bathrooms please. Thanks for your consideration.

The only two hot things that I would avoid would be the fluted hood because I feel fluting may feel a little passé in yrs to come ..I was obsessed was so obsessed at one point, but another thing that I would avoid is plaster on my hood because as a former culinary school graduate, if you are into Flambees , sautés,deep fried and Brulés the plaster can be difficult to keep clean

I’m renting. But I could not stand how my kitchen was the same making tape cream the rest of the house was. So, I just painted the lower cabinets high gloss black, along with some trim. It’s an amazing difference, and people who saw it the other way love the new look. They’re grounded and sophisticated now. I’m glad I did it.
I’m painting the doors and trim of the house in the same color. Behr’s Carbon in indoor/outdoor high gloss. It looks great with the cream.

I KNOW, you’re getting rid of the black gloss cabinets in your kitchen, but mine are a different finish. I hand painted them, so there’s a bit of texture. Very old world looking. It matches where we live here in the mountains.

Saw only 2 pictures I liked. I do canning, make herbal tinctures etc. There is no way I can limit my cooking utensil to the degree you said. I do live simply, but enjoy my hobbies.
Plus high end materials require much more maintenance and most of the pictures are larger spaces.
It is nice to see the new trends. Thank you!

We’re all electric here in the mountains. I would love an induction cook top. I have a glass top, electric cook top, now. But it’s got to be from the 80’s or so. As a renter, it’s frustrating to see these cool things but don’t want to invest in stuff I can’t take with me, or removing cabinets and replacing them with different storage, that would be considered a bit of a renovation, and would need to involve the landlord.

The more unusual the design of the marble, the more beautiful it is, as the design and colour is natural and not man made

I love the “look” of marble in kitchens…but at the same time, that little voice in my head says, “is it practical for a real family who cooks, and has kids in the kitchen”.

I have an induction cook top and it cooks as a dream. It heats water quickly and cooks evenly. The top is easy to clean and keep clean, for example on a glass electric stove as soon as water touches the surface, it sticks and turns white, on the induction, nope! It just sits and can be easily wiped.

My daughter bought a new induction cooktop. She regrets buying it. She says the temperature fluctuates and it’s hard to cook evenly.

I have an induction stovetop and love it. It heats up very quickly when you put it on power burst to boil water.
I really wanted to have a gas cooktop as I did in Indiana before moving to Florida but we wanted to try the induction.
I would not live in a state especially California that would tell me I couldn't have a gas stove. All this Green crap is freaking BS. If you let the power mongers like our present admin tell you you can't have a gas stove or car that runs on gas, what are they going to tell you what you can't have next???

  • @sarahgrace2676

I don't want an electric cooktop because in the case of electric outages you are out of luck to cook. YOu can always make a meal on a gas cooktop with or without electricity.

Call me crazy but I hate hate dark cabinets. To me they are depressing. Maybe as a New Yorker I want and need light. White, crème, beige.
