I love this page! I am a big fan of art journals and keep my pages ongoing as a great way to inspire and get “unstuck.” Your background technique was so creative, I have to give it a try 😉
Thank you so much Donna. I agree that creating something simple and fun, can inspire new ideas and perspectives. Art journaling is perfect for that. : )
How fun to get to see you work on a page! I really like the way you made those strips with the copy paper and accented them with the gold paint. Oh, and your distressing of the photo was iso inspiring too!
You have designed a great page again. I am enthusiastic about the play of colors, with the stripes, patterns and the photo. Thank you for sharing. ❤👍 Hugs vom Tinchen
Thank you so much Tinchen. Glad you enjoyed it. Art journaling is something I used to do so much, until I fell in love with assemblages. HA But once in awhile it gives me a needed break and doing something less time consuming and involved is inspiring and can bring new ideas . Hugs LG
I think Mary Angeline there is [STUCK] in a loveless marriage. She’s already birthed seven children, tho only five are still alive. The oldest boy looks just like the husband she detests. There is no way out; she’s stuck. Well, that’s nice art, tho I don’t always understand the papers underneath. They’re kinda neat, but then they’re gone. I get that it’s texture, but it’s hard to see that texture via RUclips. I really like the crumpled dry-brushed papers caging her in. The black paper looks like black satin ribbon. Well, Ina, I put a 🔔 on you. I’m surprised I had not. Oops! Thanks for the video. I enjoyed.
Thank you so much Mara. I enjoyed your comment so much and love your imagination. I was thinking about similar lines when this collage came together. You are right ,the underneath layered paper gives texture, it also adds depth and gives edges for paint or mediums to settle .which adds to the overall mixed media grungy look .My friends who can see my art in person, always say that on Utube they miss a lot of details. : ) Thanks for belling me. : )
Love the colors and the textures.
Thanks so very much Aggie. I am glad you are watching. : ) What have you been making lately? Love to see.

I think that background is gorgeous! Beautiful piece❤
Thank you so much Sue. So pleased with your reaction. : )
Beautiful. I love how you used the brayer on the background. A unique look.
Thank you Susan.😊 I think the background could have been done with just the brayer part, but oh well..I get carried away. LOL
What a fantastic page. I learned some new methods too. I'd call that a win/win! Happy new year from Texas.
Love it, I haven't done an art journal page for years.
I too don't do it very often any more, but when I do, it is a nice break from my assemblage work. Glad you like it. : ) Thank you Andrea. : )
