Collage is a great way to add texture, colour, and interest to your pages. I've shared 10 fun and easy collage techniques that are perfect for beginners. From mixing papers and textures to including materials like fabrics and found papers, here are some tips and tricks you can use in your art journal collages.

I've watched it twice, so far. This second time, I paused the video to add a collage element to my page, then listen to some more. I'm saving this one to refer to again and again. Thank you!
1. MIX types of papers and build up layers - (book pages, junk mail, receipts, wrappers, news paper, magazine, music notes)
2. implement TORN edges instead of rigid cut for an organic feel
3. (3:07) “COLLAGE CLUSTERS”, visually cohesive/complimentary compositions of papers of different sizes
4. image cut outs (images, photographs, books)
5. WASHI TAPE - creates visual interest
6. STICKERD (can be free from packaging)
7. STITCHING - use thread, 3D tactile element
8. FABRIC - (staples or fabric glue)
9. get creative with TEXT - cut out letters or text or create with pens and paint
10. think outside the box when it comes to elements you can include, FOUND elements are great (leaves, flowers, packaging etc.)

Sometimes that just happens with collage!
Where do you get your sheets of small florals
How do you manage to not get bubbling when using a glue stick?
I tend to find bubbling is more likely if you use a wet glue like PVA, never had issues with a glue stick
I have a real question. After you have made these journals, what do you do with them? Do you write in them? Photos?
You could do! Most of the time I leave them as they are because I enjoy making the art, I have a whole shelf full.

It's called Pion 'PET Tape - Twilight' - a little pricey but you get a lot on the roll! :)
