It is so nice to watch your channel.
I am new to IT consultant for few weeks in a start up in Japan. So I also wanna learn critical thinking by using mind map. So much thanks It helps me a lot!
What an underrated Channel. Loved this video!
Excellent content. Exactly what I was hoping to learn.
Really cool tutorial! Thanks for sharing an example of how you work!
Really enjoy the content Sheng. I've been in the start-up life for the last 7 months & the most difficult task has been to organize my workflow in an efficient way but I always seemed to get stumped in my organizational process. Organizing things via bullet points or in a doc always felt disconnecting; like it was lacking flow. This brainstorming process that we learned in grade school (now called mind mapping) is extremely useful and seems so natural. Even weirder how it resembles our neuropathways.
That's exactly it! I find it much more natural for designing and thinking
Great share, and tutorial.
❤️ Organisation of Mind Map… 😍😍😍😍😍
Thanks alot now i am fully clear about mind maps 💪
Nice Explanation. Thank you..!!
It's a very nice video to understand. Thank you.
Thank you for this video it was awesome
Looking forward to new video.
Greetings from Europe
WOW!
My brain used to think like a mind map but my brain injuries have made that very difficult. Thankful to have come across your page!
That's really tough, but it's also the constraints that force us to seek other avenues of growth. You're strong to work through it and I'm glad that these videos have helped. Let's keep progressing my friend!
we need you frequently..🔥🔥🔥
This is great. In bootcamp they basically had us start with wireframing, but this seems more focused before getting to the wireframe.
Oh totally. I think the structure and flow can be mapped before touching the wireframe
@@ShengHuang When VR headsets go mainstream, someone will create a mindmap program that you can fly through, (maybe me) and that will either be completely confusing, or mind expanding.
@@criticalthinkinggamesllc3081 Ah please remember to sign me up to the beta haha I'm more than happy to have my mind blown as a guinea pig 😆
Thank you Sheng! If you ever come to Vegas, i would love to pick your brain over coffee.
Great video!! I had this one tool that I used to use... But it's gone from the web now. I could enter relational declarative text statements and it'd build a map. Red is a colour, vehicle has a colour, firetruck is red... Etc. Know anything that does that? I loved it
That sounds like such a cool tool! I'll keep my eyes peeled for something like that
Thank you so much for this amazing and very understandable explaining. I watched a million videos about mind maps, but understand nothing. I speak russian, but even english video i understood much better then russian 😂
Thank you so much
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching!
Hi Sheng, Im looking into mind mapping to get my head organised. I want to use software for this instead of paper for the accessibility of it. I've noticed you use different programs to do your 'mapping'. If I told you that besides ideas and thoughts, I need to be able to plan out programming: steps to take, ideas and functions. What do you recommend to start out with
.
Hey Rk, I'd recommend checking out iThoughtsX which is the program I'm using in the video. I'd also recommend checking out the second part of this product design series: ruclips.net/video/8pJ_FxwqVrM/видео.html. You might appreciate the detailed user flows covered there.
Excellent, informative tutorial. What is the most effective way to use a mind map when listening to a lecture?
If it's in real time, I'd recommend Notability for iPad (I did a brief review) b/c of the audio recording function. If you're able to slow down and rewind, then iThoughtsX or MindMeister
Oh and check out my video on Q&A Mind Mapping for learning b/c that's how I tackle lectures
You are awesome, May I please ask which tool and Camera do you use for editing and recording your videos.
Thanks! Fuji X-T2 + 28mm 2.0 lens + Final Cut Pro
great one .. what mind map tool did you use pls
Thank you! I'm using iThoughtsX
set ur camera focus at manual setting rather than auto focus.
Thank you for this. If there was a medical term for my malaise, it would be „organisationally challenged“, or something
(BTW: the focus hunting is making me crazy!)
Hahaha I'll use manual focus next time!
Hello, can you name the program you use to make the Mind maps please?
iThoughts. There are iOS and MacOS versions.
so mind maps are just a different way of saying User Journey map?
Good observation! And yes, at least for product design, and it can also get much deeper for engineers to actually build the product.
Is it possible to make multiple root nodes ( subject)? This still seems bit linear to me
Yes, absolutely. On a digital Mind Map (so that you can more easily expand 'infinitely'), you can indeed have multiple root nodes to explore various subjects or themes. This flexibility allows you to expand on different ideas as extensively as you need. Just bear in mind that it’s helpful to exercise some discretion; if you find yourself diving deep into a particular area, it might be more effective to start a 'new map' dedicated to that specific topic. This way, you can keep your Mind Maps organized and focused, while still capturing all the intricate details of your exploration.
@@ShengHuang thank you!
@@ShengHuang you the best and one more question sir - I am learning a lot from you and one thing I have hard time (when processing software tasks) is to visually demonstrate/organize 5 ~ 7 layers of depth, and nodes from one topic in layer 4 can communicate with another topic's node from layer 2 - how can this be done? visually processing where node is in depth of layers really makes a difference in my understanding but Idk how to do it effectively without "ruining" . i also think its because a lot of information I am parsing is procedural knowledge rather than declarative knowledge. i hope you can help, thank you so much in advance sir for what you do !
Where ya been?!
A personal retreat of sorts but back in full force! Thanks for dropping by Jody!
