Newbie Caravan Vlog | Our First Proper Trip

- Welcome to our newbie caravan vlog! This was out first proper trip in Albie, our 2 berth Coachman Amara! We headed to Plough Lane Touring Park in Chippenham for 6 nights.
Plough Lane is an adults only tranquil caravan park and it certainly lived up to the tranquil part, it was super peaceful. It was the first time we'd towed the caravan on a motorway too, but that all went super smoothly!
This video is a lot of us hanging out in the caravan and the park, getting to grips with Albie and, we now realise looking back, lots of eating, hehe.

Macs voice is so calming, you both are beautiful people congratulations on your new journey 🎉
Good we tip that I do is that on the last day/night, if it is dry take the awning down, saves a lot of time in the morning and hopefully the awning hasn't got any condensation . The last you want is to put away a wet/damp awning as you will need to get it out and dried at home to stop it from smelling..
Hi Gordon, this is a great tip, especially if we have an early start. On our first ever trip we took it down on the last morning and it flipping rained haha. So we did have to set it up in the garden to dry off! Thanks for watching and getting in touch!

Great video guys, we went on our first big trip away since buying our caravan back in September and we also did the Cotswolds. I'm in my 50s and have been through the Cotswolds many times on the way to somewhere else but it was our first stay there. Wow we were shocked how beautiful it is, Bourton on the Water is absolutely unique and somewhere everyone should visit. We have also noticed how fascinated folks are when you arrive and setup....no pressure lol. Keep the videos coming .

I used to have the keg of beer but now I’ve stepped up to a roof mounted barrel and a cannula in my arm to reach straight into my blood stream. Barrel fits neatly on the car roof rack as well.

Hi to you both, just a small tip that you may already know save gas cook your breakfast on a electric hot plate doesn’t take up much space easy to do no cooking oil required easy to clean with paper towels and you have paid for EHU , tappanyaki got ours from amazon £50 . Small extension lead to cook outside small table, hope this is helpful it’s lovely in that part of the country.

My toilet cassete light doesnt get a chance to come on i always book a pitch near the site loos so i only use mine at night or in emergencies uses less chemicals too lol

Hi Mac and Sarah Kevin and Karen here we’ve had a caravan for about 8 months and didn’t know until we were told about our make up bed we was sleeping on the wrong side. We then turned the cushions over for a better sleep. Don’t know if your cushions can be turned over but just a tip. Great vlog keep going.

Funny you say in your Vlog it’s all about eating! Claire and I have just been saying we need to include more shots of us eating in our videos …..you can please some of the people some of the time etc…. Just come across your channel. Love it, lovely, friendly couple. Am 40 myself, I was brought up caravanning, i'm in the Stockport area of Manchester. So many caravanning memories, loved it. Also not caravanning related I know. But must say Sarah, love The Turtles top, I loved that as a kid.

Thing is with caravaning it is a couples thing. I am single & after quite a few years of owning a caravan I have finally decided to get rid of mine.

I tell you. I have a 1998 small Eriba Puck as I also tow with a classic car (1964 Morris Minor) aswell as my daily drive 2007 Peugeot 206 HDI look. I having to keep it in a storage for £40 a month. I seem to find caravan life is a couples thing. I used to go camping when I had a girlfriend years ago.

Hey Laura!! Congrats on your caravan purchase! We use Final Cut to edit our videos. There are loads of different ones you can use. You can even edit in RUclips too if you just wana get a feel for it. Others are Premier Pro and Divinci Resolve... Good luck, let us know if you do and we'll check it out for sure x

We have watched a few of your videos now how do you get on with moving and revising the caravan into place ?
Thanks for watching Jason, much appreciated! To be honest it depends on the site, sometimes we back it in most of the way. But we do have a motor mover which makes it soooo easy getting the van into a pitch. I'd definitely recommend a motor mover, especially with a bigger van. Cheers!
@@MacSarah thank for your reply we are picking out caravan up from Sussex caravan next month we’re you got yours from. It has a motor move 👍👍👍 then hopefully planning our first trip out . We use to have a new vw camper but sold it a couple of years ago it was to small so looking forward to a little bit bigger space and going on walks with the wife and our dog. Keep the videos coming.

Hi Jade, thanks for the comment. It's a Dometic Kampa Rally Air Pro 260. Honestly it's amazing! It goes up in about 5 mins and is such good quality too. Luckily we managed to get it on Ebay and saved loads 👍🏼 thanks for watching
Could I ask about your car model and the caravan's model?
Sure, we have a Mazda 6 Estate, 2.2l Diesel with a Coachman Amara 380/2
We are looking to get a 2 berth caravan. Just wondering what tow car do you use. How do you find the payload in your caravan. Are you able to store your awning, chairs and windbreak ok or do they need to go in the car?
Hi Ian, great question and one I did lots of research on before we bought it. So our car is a 2015 Mazda 6 Estate, 2.2 diesel which has a kerb weight of 1578kg. The MTPLM of our caravan is 1235kg so about right for our car. In terms of payload (when accounting for the motor over) we have about 100kg to play with. So in the caravan we put the awning, aquaroll, waste master, food, clothes (for a short trip) and some food. Our chairs are pretty heavy so we put them in the car. Overall it works pretty well and the car tows the van really well. I hope that helps some and good luck with choosing a caravan!! 😊

How do you charge your devices while you are in the caravan?
Hey, thanks for watching. So we're hooked up to the electric while on site, so we have power, so we just have to remember to charge the batteries, which we often forget to do haha
