      Ludicrous statement. Any team is beatable in any given game that's why the Olympic one-game system is so nail-biting. Look at the USA vs USSR in 1980 or Canada vs USSR in 1981. It only takes a couple bad decisions or a few bad plays to sink the boat. USSR head coach Tikhonov pulled Tretiak in 1980 and probably did so prematurely and upset his team. At the same time, Bowman put in Mike Liut against the USSR in 1981 when he should have put Edwards in as Edwards was far better in that tournament.

      We would’ve scored the overtime goal in the gold medal game to complete the comeback and finish undefeated in that olympic tournament, if John Tortorella had been the head coach, instead of Ron Wilson. In my opinion, Torts would’ve had his team playing on fire. I know this based on how Herb Brooks did this in 1980.

      o D a n i e l Okay yeah they are missing some of their best but a lot also do go and play for them, and they also have some of their best players in Europe ready for the Worlds unlike USA and Canada. For the Olympics I know they're historically more decorated but look at this Olympics results they beat Czech by 2 we won by 4, and they lost to Canada by 3 we lost by 1 and I know what happened against Finland but that game really didn't matter to us after losing to Canada again under 24 hours before. Also the 2006 tournament doesn't really show how good they are now considering how many of their players from 2006 are already gone.

    @nikebauer1993 ok... well, I do agree. But as a coach, you'd definitely want to try out both goalies and see who you should put, that you believe will be better for the team. Mike Babcock put Luongo in net against first game 1 against norway and he was fine, and then brodeur against Switzerland and from that on, brodeur then shown why Luongo should start in net after 2 more games.

Syndey, Getzlaf, Fleury, Staal, and Perry all had won the Stanley Cup and Richards won the Calder Cup and started in many NHL playoff games before the 2010 Winter Olympics. Also, there were many seasoned vets like Pronger, Iginla, Brodeur, Heatley, Marleau, Niedermeyer, Boyle, Luongo, Morrow, and Thorton on Team Canada to add experience.

    Actually, it's a very big stat. Because if you have a higher population, you can generate more athletes, and have a better chance at more medals. That's why USA/China always has the most medals. Because they can send the most athletes.
    USA = 300 million people / 37 medals = 8.1 million people per medal
    Canada = 30 million people / 26 medals = 1.1 million people per medal
    And, the best, as one Finn politely pointed out to me, was Finland, with 300,000 people per medal.

Also, USA has about 10x the population of Canada but only around 6x the amount of total olympic medals accumulated before London 2012. You know what that means? You couldnt be more wrong. Just Stop Canada won., but the way USA is going it wont be too long till we eclipse Canada with the stars like Kane, ect. Bigger Population and game becoming more popular is bad for Canada.

      Yes he was. Too bad the WCOH was formatted with the NA Team as it robbed the US of guys like Matthews, Gaudreau, Eichel, Larkin, Saad, Jones and Trouba.
      Also cant believe Kessel, Kreider and Johnson weren't there.

      You do realize Canada still has the most World Junior gold medals. Literally Canada has 5 times the amount of golds USA has. 5 of them were consecutive in fact. Most players in the NHL are Canadian, and most con smythe trophies have been won by Canadians. Canada also has the most olympic gold medals, again more than triple USAs. 2 of the last 3 winter olympics have been golds for Canada, all 3 have been gold for the women, and since 2000 Canada has won the world juniors 5 times in a row as I said.... so no, Canada is NOT 'starting to lose'. You realize even in this tournament this game was part of Canada ended up winning right?

      Quole1234 Actually they had 2 consecutive 5 year gold winning streaks in the juniors. Whats funny is that USA only has 3 total.

      Quole1234 Vous êtes tout à fait raison quole 1234 En fait, le Canada a gagné 3-2 hier chez les juniors et ils ont gagné la médaille d'or aux Jeux olympiques de 2010.
