What Lemieux did on the first goal was unreal. Like how smart, calm, quick n collective u gotta be to think of that n to resist of not touching the puck when theres a chance to score, its unbelievable. Ppl don't know how good that was. He knew he wasn't in a good position to let off a quick one but knew exactly n in perfect position to score. Anyone else would've touched that puck n probably wasted the chance

The 2014 team and the 2016 World Cup teams were better, but they weren't as special. This team has guys like Mike Peca, Ryan Smyth, Eric Brewer - three guys who have no business among this group. The 2014 team had one player who wasn't a natural #1C on his own team (Corey Perry), and the World Cup team only had one additional natural winger - Brad Marchand.
This team could've lost. They got blown out by Sweden in the first game. In 2014, the Canadians toyed with everyone. I fell asleep during the Sochi gold medal game because I knew they had it in the bag. I've never seen a hockey team do what Canada did to the world in 2014. The only time they were remotely threatened was the Latvia game where they just couldn't solve Gudlevskis until very late. It would have been an egg-on-the-face game, but ultimately immaterial. 2016 was similar - nobody ever seriously threatened them. Just think, next time they'll have McDavid. Have fun, Earth.

If you look at the names who played that year, I think USA and Canada probably had the best teams in the history of Ice Hockey. 20:00 so begins an absolutely zonkers shift by Scott Niedermayer - joins the Fleury rush, comes from the US goal line to break up a 3-on-1, directs traffic for the counter attack, joins said counter, plays a puck through the US crease, and finally causes an offside at his own blue line. Classic hockey. I miss these days when all world teams had high hopes to win. Now days they are just spirit dampeners like the way Slovakia played this World Junior Championships...No spirit, dont play!

Man alive the interference and hooking back in the day was INSANE.Sadly even today there is tons of interference let go especially in the playoffs it is that players are smarter in how they do it but still it ruins the outcome when refs allow penalties to go.I know many like to say 'let them play"and take the refs out of it but letting them interfere is NOT playing the game as intended.

Lemieux shanked a shot off the post during a power play. If he hits that he would have had the MVP.

Where's Jeremy Roenick and his big mouth? Critucing the American team in 2014 and 2016. What did he do in this game? Squat.

1:03:44 you can see the net just slightly move, Lemieux was stunned.
1:05:13 the puck went in, watch it 10-15times, he hits the camera lol, maybe a strange rebound?
    very strange. Lemieux said nothing.

Canada crushed the U.S., and Herb Brooks gave excuse after excuse. So did that whiner Chris Chelios. Shame on them both, talk about sore losers! Yay Team CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking back at the USA roster they didn’t had that good of a team. Chelios, Hull, Sutter, Housley & Young where older players far from their prime, if Young ever had a prime.
Mike Richter was on fire, still he was not even a top 10 NHL goalie…
    Who is Aaron Miller?
    Team Canada was stacked!

Shanahan had no business being on this team. Fleury, Peca were also terrible choices. But that's looking back. But I'd never choose Shanahan on my team -- ever. And I would never take Lindros on my team either. Smyth and Nolan, totally useless as well.
