I met him in Oxford in 1980 and it was a chaotic farce and not just the intended interview on mike chat. He Laughed. Me? I am Mark of Second Side Up FM, its here on RUclips and the BBC iPlayer. David was a very-very nice sentient. Very. Regards. Mark.
@@Lee-nh5bb Sorry, the actual interview is long lost and wasn't that long as it happens. His dressing room was crammed with lots of people, mostly his 'staff', and keeping his attention from constant interruptions was impossible. On the technical side, I used a Sony TC-153SD Cassette-Corder and a Sony ECM99 mike to record on, the same equipment I used for forty years.
@@marknestbox Thanks Mark for the info! What a shame your recording is long gone, but if you can think of any details that we might like to hear, please feel free! Was he on tour with his one man show, when you spoke to him? Sony was an excellent brand back in the day. No wonder you had your recording equipment for so long.
I always wondered about the 'wave' sketch. Because it's one thing to watch something like that, but HE actually had to act it out. If Allen was still alive, that's the one sketch I would ask him about. Did he know how forceful that water would be? What was he expecting? Did he just say "fuck it" and hope for the best? I'd love to know! Hilarious!!
Dave Allen, the best! RIP!

Could you provide a link please? I can't find your interview and would love to hear it!
