I haven’t touched my Skillsaw in years. I started a project and realized my blade was not cutting it. Picked up a Diablo having never used one. Holy crap that’s a sharp blade. I’ll take it any day for that price.
I really appreciate the honest review. Subscribed.
Thanks for picking this up for us. Do enjoy & like using the hole saws from Spyder. After seeing this review, it really doesn’t seem like “these” blades are any better than the other offerings at “better” prices. Now if the price on these were lower, think that would make a little better sense & deal👍🏻 I do like the packaging on this blade & looks like can use for storage😁
Cheers✌🏼
I picked up one of these in the Lowes check out line. It is so great. Been in a saw for weeks, cut through nails and still cuts like butter. This will be the only saw blade I buy, now. I've had them all.
You like it better than Diablo?
@@dragonsofthunder Diablo is a good blade. In my opinion, the Spyder blade is sharper, but doesn't last as long. We haven't used any in a while, because they aren't sold, in my area. I believe they are cheaper than the Diablo.
Happy Friday ! Have a great day! Keep up the good work!🧰🛠⚙️🔩🛠🧰😍
The new Diablo Demo Demon Blade’s are amazing. They last much longer than the original Diablo blades, definitely worth the extra 6 bucks.
I have been using these spyder blades for 6 months now and I even bought one for my boss and converted him to them. I love that they have a thinner kerf and they last longer than the other brands seem to. Also in my area they are actually cheaper than the other brands
Liked!! Happy Friday 😊
This holiday season I stocked up on all kinds of diablo blades, have a nice stock pile. I'll stick with them. Their 40T leaves one nice smooth cut.
You should try 60 tooth 😉 it wont disappoint
Now I know about Passyunk Ave! Thank you.
I'm 62 years old I've been in the trades since I was a kid my father was a home builder home repairman I just recently the past couple years started using the hole saws from spider they came out with the new 10-inch table saw blade in a 12 inch miter saw blade I am now using them both they are amazing
I bought a few of these spyder 7.25 framing blades about a month ago when they went on sale for about $7 with tax (as well as their 4.5 in diamond blade 2 pack). I use them with my corded skilsaw and they cut like butter through composite decking and hardwood. But i did try them in AC grade plywood as well and you are correct, you cannot force it through since it will pinch and stop. You just need to let the saw grab and pull you through (just make sure you have a guide for a straight cut).
I've got both sets of hole saw blades. they are kinda expensive but well worth it. best best about them is the eject the core capability and you can piggyback them if u need the hole a bigger size.
I recently came across those Spyder circular saw blades in my local big box store.. thought about it but passed. Might try one for sh*ts n grins, seems like a good deal. I prefer the Bosch Edge carbide framing saw blades cuz they cut like butter.
I just got their Trim 80 Tooth and I'm in love with it. Trimmed out and entire house 3000 sq ft living space, Not one stall, burn out, or CHIP!. and i was using the cheapest garbage trim on the market. Im also not a trim expert so you can imagine i cut every cut 2-5 times on those 90 outsides and 30 degrees. SO lets say there are variables to consider but these blades Last long IMO.
Dude. 37 years carpenter here. The "stopages" aren't the blade. Its you pinching the saw with the fence twist. I own these blades. They're on my 7.1/4 slide miter and my skill saw.
I was laughing my azz off when he tried pulling that 💩
I noticed with my spider blade that at 1st the paint would heat up and make it stick. And I also experienced the paint getting in the way of cross cut 45 for roof. Went back to Diablo And it was like a hot knife through butter.
Just got the same thing as a 6-1/2, works great! Wish they had more circular saw blade options though.
I picked one of these up at Lowes the other day. I needed something in a pinch to cut 200 pressure treated 4x4s for a fence because my existing Dewalt blade dulled out. I grabbed one of these because it was cheap and i knew i was gonna be beating it up. I was blown away by how good it was. I blasted thru all 200 4x4s and the 200th cut went thru just as smooth as the 1st
That’s good to hear!!
@@VCGConstruction They were only 5$ nd change at the Lowes. Cheaper than the Diablos and Milwaukee's that were there. Atleast the ones i seen, but i was in a rush.
And my math was off. *600th cut since they were 4x4s
im a quality over quantity kinda person, i quite enjoy the head to head videos guys, awesome info and great work!
As an electrician I love the Spyder TCT hole saws use them for 1-1/2 conduit up to 4-1/8 round boxes. Still need to get 6-3/8 + 6-5/8 for recess cans only broke 1 tooth off a 2-5/8 when cutting stucco hit the mesh to fast. For my m18 7-1/4 I live and die by Diablo demo blades.
I've been very impressed with spyder blades. Pretty much all I'll buy at this point. Can't beat them in that price range.
Excellent blade.
Picked up the Spyder hole saw set half off at local big box yesterday. Figured id give them a try for deal.
In business school I was told that benefits/cost=value and because of that I'm now thinking like about that for everything I buy. And it applies here, if you can get 2 quality items for the price of one of nearly equal performance then that's your better value.
What would you recommend for trimming door bottoms? Can't find anything on blade type recommendation for doors and it's irritating because I don't know blades yet.
In general I like their stuff. Picked up a whole saw bit and wow I can use it to lift weighs bro! Heavy duty
Hey Vince, I have been using Spyder products since they came out. Mostly scraping tools that fit on recip. saws. I think they are a good product. I have never seen a circular saw blade by this company and it looked like it performed well. Is it worth double money.... probably not. I have bought many of the diablo two packs and they are really decent. Thanks for the video brother!!!!
I love the way you put your hand behind the saw the way you do. If OSHA could see you now.
I love the quizzical reading and commenting on the marketing wanketeering on the side of the blade.
What kind of lumber do you use in your testing? Doug fir, or?
Tried to not have to go the “orange” store, so I picked up a Spyder, had second thoughts….now I have to make another trip to town….safer than sorry…thx
I say the more competition the better. Mine cuts fine. Without all these options we wouldn't have Diablo and the likes. Always trying to improve
Thanks for the Spyder blade review Guys 👍
I like Freud blades the best. Looks like one but it’s not the real deal. Thanks for the great videos
Bro my local lowes has irwin marathon 24t framing blades for $3.98.. They dropped em down. Ordered 2 online for pickup..
Was interesting in seeing the spyder one but I think id still get diablo but for $3.98 for the irwin cant beat it for backup blades.
Almost got one today but changed my mind
Trying a spyder blade currently just to check it out. It's pretty comparable to 24T Diablo blade. I'd use them interchangeably. Whichever I can get a better deal on for buying in bulk.
Just tested a bunch of saws all with the Diablo 24T 7.25in framing blade. The Diablo newer blades with the "track point" cut so smooth and have better harmonics than the older blade it's ridiculous. And 2 for 1 at white cap, how can you buy anything else?
Hole saws are unbeatable, I learned about them at JLC Live event and never have turned back to another, zip saw blades and circ saw blades ill stay with diablo
do you like the spyder hole saw system?
I've never used their Circ saw blade but I have used quite a few chop saw blades. They seem to cut well for about a week. The Diablo blades are better. They cut like new for about 3 weeks.
All my blades used to be Diablo... Now they are all spyder, yes, I made the switch. I feel cutting with Spyder is smoother..
without a doubt I rather go with you Diablo blades never had any problems so far
Diablo all day long for me
Robert Dellinger I've never had a problem with Diablo blades so once you find something usually you stick with it I have the blades for all my source a circular saw table chop Sawzall too bad they don't make them for the oscillator but they were great from framing to finish trim work
I just picked up 2 of the spyder blades for $4 piece at the blue big box store
I bought one 7 1/4 blade just about 2 months ago didnt have a saw that size I do now so i just bought one to give to my bro they were $4 a blade really cheap
Not bad!
its very thin like the makita max efficiency blade but the spyder seems to have less flex and helps it to track straighter
Whats the best budget 185mm x 30mm 24 tooth framing blade? Thats cheap
Is that Skil your new fav cordless circ saw?
I seen some at lowes they had 1 in a plastic case and they had a 2 pack of the same blade for the same price you just didn't get the plastic case
Spyder blades are great for something made in china with German steel. Diablo blades are made in Italy with Italian steel though. I trust Diablo more but I've gotten Spyder blades for way cheaper. It's a tough call but I think Diablo is what I'd go with most of the time. For miter saws I use Ridge Carbide
When just subscribed to your channel today and lol forward to seeing more I and a carpenter and have been using Hilti Tools lately what do you Think of them
Hilti has some awesome solutions
@@VCGConstruction I am 49 and have been a good old wood butcher lol from the age of 17 I love being a carpenter. And have trained a bunch of up and coming young carpenters. So thank you for the great content and look forward I more.
I love these blades and use them personally. Also save your blade cases, i keep my back up blades and plywood blades in them.

Hey why not cut the ply on of sacrificial foam board 1inch thick on table at least for first cut......just thought but u do a bang up job either way.👍
Passyunk Ave lovely smooth surface .....
Yes, but do they last 6X longer than the standard blades, making them worth it?
Idk. I think 2 for 10.00 WAAAAAAY BETTER, ESPECIALLY us contractors. Now I will say this. I got a diablo Carbide sawzall blade to cut cast iron. Ripped through it like butter. W my milwakee super sawzaw, wonder if it had anything to do w the actual machinery I used, verses the blade. ..idk. think those Carbide are the shinizzles
I'm a framer and I use this blade all the time it last a long time too it won't let you down
yep same here, cant believe people listen to youtube clowns like this
I don't know anything about framing, but have you tried the Diablo Cermet II blades? They do a good job on wood... and STEEL.
They act as cold-cutting steel blades on wood cutting saws _at wood cutting rpms._ I've got a 7-1/4" on my Willmaukyee 5000rpm M18 slider. I had to modify many sets of steel hardware on-site and was able to cleanly cut through THICK steel. Cuts fast as wood with no burrs and very little filing required. The blade is still sharp enough to make clean wood cuts.
Color me impresssed (Diablo Red) :)
The cerment blades are awesome!
I have used spyder drill bits and they have way out performed anything I have used before. The down side is the smaller sizes are very briitle they snap not bend. I made a utility trailer from a large boat trailer. I drilled over 50 holes through galvanized steel with a single bit with only a small difference from first hole to last. None of my other bits even came close.
So, can someone tell me the difference between the Spyder, Carbide tipped 24t framing blades and the Spyder, Carbide tipped 24t demo blades? I got 3 farming blades for the price of 1 demo...Thanks for the video buddy! Just subscribed!!!
Well looks like it's showdown time. Freud vs. Spyder.
It warped on me, on 3 1/2" OSB
passyunk ave... lol nice... philly man here
You need to check out evolution tool I have in the UK
As far as spider hole saws go actually pretty fond of them I have to cut holes in phenolic and that some of the blade killing material I've ever seen. Otherwise I'm pretty much stuck with Diablo blades. That said I have never seen there skill/circular saw blades. As far as Spyders reciprocating blades, not so much.
I’ve got a small beef with spider. The holesaw kit that Lowe’s sells doesn’t include the correct sizes for plumbing pipe. No 2 1/8, 2 9/16 or 3 5/8 sizes. Imagine how many they would sell( if they are worth a flip) if they included those sizes. After all, who drills more large size holes than plumbers?
contact them and let them know , maybe they are not aware
Electrician here had same problem ended up buying the hole saws individually. All started doing a 3” riser and the arbor system made cutting the roof pitch a snap.
Starting Monday at Lowes - this blade is on sale for $3.98
I do think their hole saws are one of the best
Whoever got a better deal? I would get it. Both of them are pretty good. Save money n get the deal.
Good video vince
not bad , think I would stay with diablo .. Thanks
Give me a Diablo al day ever day never had a problem
Recip and circ diablo all the way! Spyder is definitely Lacking. For hole saw spyder do fine.
seems good enough for 7$ a blade at my local blowes
Sounds like the saw is struggling ripping that 2x
Should have used the Dewalt rear handle for this blade demo...
Cuts about as good as a Marathon blade but it ain't no Diablo. I do like that cordless Skillsaw though. I was looking at cordless offerings last year and wasn't real impressed with anything but I'm kind of liking that. It's a worm drive hun? I like the sawdust port through the handle. It's kind of cool. I'll have to look into it.
I have Diablo and the Spyder and I think the Diablo is better! It seems sharper when both are brand new!
nice speakers...Cerwin Vega! LOL
Feel the BOOM !!
I’m putting in fiberglass tubs and showers and the fiberglass just ruins the normal (lex and Milwaukee) hole saws... these spiders are bad ass. cuts through no prob 👍🏼 #wouldrecommend
Amana blades are jiffy toot sweet but are a bit pricy. Leave the spider to throwing webs and spandex suits
Why am I cursed to only have a Lowes in Newberry SC? I like my spyder rip and multipurpose blades but if I'd had the option to get 4 diablo blades instead I would have bought Diablo
Jesus. Everyone is all over Diablos nuts. I like the spider blade more also.
Yo Vince those vents look like POOP EMOJI
🤣🤣
Diablo all the way, consistent good quality
consider them buttons smashed 🤜💥
The real question should be, do they last longer , not if they can cut 8 feet in 1.3 seconds.....
Just bought the makita dhs680z the standard blade is rubbish cant do straight cuts need a new decent blade thinking bout the frued pro or makita specialized ones 165 20mm 40t
Way cheaper to use Diablo. I bought 10 double packs that lasted me 6 months of framing jobs, over 30. Including roofs w 4 Milwaukee saws
Been using the diablo since 04 or 05 tried one of these blades it’s good but not as good as the diablo.
Not super impressed with this blade. However, I have their carbide hole saw set and it’s the best I’ve ever used/owned. They eat through stucco/concrete like butter with the Milwaukee M18 hammer drill.
Confucius say, slower is faster, unless faster happens to be faster than slower.
Ar we obsessed to have the newest and best when in reality the older works just as well. I remember buying my first circular saw that had a 18 tooth carbide blade. I too remember wanting to buy a newer more modern blade, but the salesman asked me to try the existing blade and not get obsessed with all the new and better hype. In the end it was many years before I finally had to replace the blade. The saw cannot cut without taking the waste away from the cut. This alone forcess you to cut slower with a blade having too many teeth!
How is it different than a Diablo? Same blade different color! I’ve used both as a professional. Laser blade reliefs vary depending on teeth and purpose amongst same manufacturer so both are probably made at the same plant.
Is blades from miter saw? Thanks to Brazil.
get all that saw dust in your lungs, lol great vid
What's with all the stopping! Is it just me or is it throwing alot of dust ? I seen their stuff but I know lowes dose get some gimmicky tools. So until I can get one cheap enough or I can try one without buying it I'm going to stick with Diablo
